At midnight a group of figures snuck across the wheat field. In their hands were various weapons daggers, swords and small wooden sheilds with small metal spikes on the end glimmered in the soft moonlight.
The group of people about a few hundred maybe even thousand sneaked across the field, some o the figures couldn't help but let out an evil cackle as they got closer and closer to the enemies camp.
They had been instructed to wait until the late night and then attack and crush the rose knight trainees.
They were lead by one figure that was shwroded in a black cloak, he was currently in the front of the group of bandits running steathily to the location of them camp. A belt of gleaming daggers were securely set around his waist and his eyes seemed to get more and more murderous as they got nearer.
The hooded figure couldn't see any distinct things of the rose knight camp like campfires or the shadowly figure of tents , but it was in the middle of the night so it they might have put out the fire.
The large group of bandits arrived closer enough to where the rose knight camp should have been. Acording to the hooded figures plan that he had laid out and drilled into the bandits head with force they all started to fan out making sure that any escaping trainee would quickly get caught and slautered.
Under the ruslting of the wheat grains underneath them, they encircled the camp. And the hooded figure lit up a torch as the signal. With a loud shout, all 500 of the bandits jumped with their swords gleaming and bloodthirsty smiles on their faces. They were promised plenty or riches if they brought back the heads of a rose knight trainee besides who wound't want to kill a rose knight, they were famed for being on of the best knights in the kingdom and it would feel great to tramble on their so called legacy.
The first bandit armed with 2 swords in his hand jumped to where the camp should have been. At first he snalled expecting some people to lunge out at him. But under the moonlight after straining his eyes. He discovered something that confused him so much he started to question his eyes.
Where the camp should have been, where they had seen the hundreds of rose knights eating and relaxing at. The entire camp was gone like as if they had disappeared to dust.
More and more of the bandits jumped into the clearing on the other side of the field expecting to see carnage but only seeing a increasingly large group of confused bandits.
After a bit of time the hooded figure that was leading them stepped into the clearing. He briskly walked to the clearing and kneeled down. He grabbed a fistful of soil and let it run through his hands. He muttered to himself
"its less then a day old they must be pretty near us"
The hooded figure went into deep though as to where they might have gone. But a sudden loud crash back at the bandit camp made each and everyone of the people in the failed ambush raid turned their heads back to their camp.
What that hooded figure saw with his trained eyes made them widen as he gulped a large amount of saliva.
He had seen a big burly man with hair as red as fire, jumping 10 meters into the air with an extremely large shield in hand and then slamming it straight into the ground. He could hear the shockwave it created and judging from the screams in the bandit camp, it was a big and bad one.
A few seconds later the hooded figure could feel a slight rumbling in the ground like it was the after shook of the ground slam that the red haired dude just did.
He could hear the roar of more people and sometimes he could see the flash light magic and more. From across the field you could see the faint campsites of the bandit camp and the small tents surrounding them.
Well now the entire thing was on fire, the tents that they had finnlay been supplies with were now being burnt in front of them along with their supplies that they had raided so many villages for. The hooded figure clenched his fist in anger and said in a sharp and commanding voice
"we are heading back"
One of the unruly bandits spoke up, he was part of one of the groups that had just been recently been brought in under "his" service, he walked up to the hooded figure and said in a concited voice
"aww I'm not sure if we should even help those stupid bastereds let them burn and fight those dudes on their own, then we can sweep their bodies afterwards if ya know what i mean"
That bandit added a cocky smile and a wink like he was communicating with the hooded figure something important.
No body around the bandit moved, and he quickly looked around confused as to why nobody was agreeing with him. A sudden flash of light passed his neck and everything started to go black.
Nobody contested the hooded figures commands anymore and they all quickly set off the bandit camp in hopes of helping drive off the attackers.
Little did that group of bandits know, that the rose knights were already retreating.
Halfway across the field, one of the green barrack members quickly ran up to Charlie and whispered to him in a hushed voice
"a group of 500 bandits heading towards us, it seems they came from where we set up camp yesterday"
Charlie nodded and dismissed the green barrack member, he quickly slowed down his pace so that he could join the green barrack members who were running right behind Charlie.
Charlie only had to think for a few seconds, he shouted out loud
"blue barrack, 500 enimes in front draw swords"
The entire blue barrack that was in the middle quickly ran up the the front of the retreating platoon and responded to Charlies command by drawing their swords in a uniform manner.
Charlie shouted again
"green barrack split attention from behind to the frount"
The sound of bowstrings being draw taunt was the next sound that answered Charlie
The hooded figure was rushing over to the bandit camp hundred of thoughts were running in his head
what would they do if they lost all of their rations they were about 2 days away from their target, what if they bandits rioted maybe they could get the elites to control them but that would be hard?
As more and more thoughts calodied and compounded in the hooded figures head, a sound in the bushes caugh his attention.
The sound got louder and louder and the hooded figure kept on trying to figure out what that sound was. He had heard it before but for some reason he just couldn't remember what it was.
A few seconds had passed and he had finally remember what that sound was, the would of running, or footsteps hitting soil.
The hooded figures eyes widened but the realization came to late, and he could couldn't even yell out a sound of warning to the bandits behind him as he saw a line of sword wielding men jump into the frey sliceing apart the frount line of the bandits like as if they were paper.
The hooded figure wanted to yell out something around the lines of attack or retreat but a sudden twang or bowstrings interrupted him along with the death howls of his men.
The hooded figure had no choice and he quickly actived one of the skills an assaian skill
[sneak activated]
And he slowly faded into the background, it was night and with the numerous shadows in the field it was almost impossible to find him.
The hooded figure dashed to the side of the field and watched as hundreds of swordsmen archers and even shield bearers jump into the frey and charge almost right through the bandits destorying any of them that got in their way.
The hooded figure was pretty sure he saw one of the big dudes wearing a shield trip and fall on a bandit. That red barrack member stood right back up and after a bit of hard sprinting was able to catch up with the rest of the group. The bandit that he fell on was never getting back up, and the bandits who were around the red barrack member didn't even dare to attack him when they saw the fate of their comrade.
The group of rose knight trainees quickly escaped and the hooded figure could only watch as the entire group started to get farther and farther away from him, past the fields and towards large cliffs that had the city of Muno nestled inside a passage way.
