After making sure that the remaining bandits were really retreating, the defenders were finally able to take a break. The front line of the rose knights the red barrack members all collapsed simultaneously like dominos.
Even if they had gone through hellish training Jason didn't even want to imagine, fighting off thousands of bandits was tiring even for them.
The red barrack members let out a collective groan as they massaged their legs and arms that had been resisting the large swarm of weak bandits from the beginning. The spearmen of Muno behind them also sat down and massaged their hands that were threatening to fall off, from the countless amount of times they had the thrust their spears into the group of bandits that were threatening to swarm over the red barrack members.
Most of the bandits were around level 30-40 so to the well-trained rose knight trainees they were a piece of cake. But 7000 of them... Jason was surprised that only the spearmen of Muno suffered losses and not the red barrack members who held the front line.
Jason was also pretty tired from getting chucked around by Welf, but it was worth it. The wolves kept on running towards him with more drops and weapons which he would place in his inventory to look at later, while he gave them food. The wolves would happily take the food and run off to get more items.
A notification came up when the red barrack members collapsed like it was a signal.

Jason was a bit curious as to why the wolves could see the drops and Boops replied that they were Jason's subordinates and were able to see things that normal NPC's were not able to see.
Lyle could be seen picking up the red barrack members with one hand and hauling them across to where Charlie was casting restorative spells on people. Colby was also helping them albeit in a gentler fashion.
Mark and Ethan were all the way in the back laying facedown on the grass trying to recover from the giant fireball they had just blasted out.
In general, everyone was tired, tired enough to make everyone want to just collapse and sleep for eternity, but there was also a sense of satisfaction and happiness that came with the fatigue.
And Jason could see it, the red barrack members were grinning to each other as they were hauled back by the blue barrack members to Charlie. They were proud of the fact that they just held back a crowd of bandits for a few hours.
The orb of light that had illuminated the valley had started to fade away. But instead, the sun itself peeked out from behind one of the mountains to bring in the morning glow.
Jason then realized that they had been fighting throughout the entire night. From the first time, they had fought off the bandits to when the Blue 2 team went to defeat Welf. All of that had just lasted around a day.
Jason went over to help the blue barrack members drag the exhausted red barrack members over. While the wolves delivered the last few drops and started to sit down and eat their food contentedly.
As Jason hauled the red barrack members, they were chatting happily over many things. One was talking about how he was able to block a giant saber that came out of nowhere before it stabbed into one of his fellow comrades back.
And another one relayed on how happy he was when he saw Welf collapse in the back, and how the rest of the bandits just started to scurry away like rats.
Another one added that he hoped the green barrack members could take down each one.
Jason dragged his chatting red barrack members over to Charlie who was quickly casting recovery spells on people. A few people who wore a regular soldier amour with a red cross over their chest joined him, hurriedly casting heal spells over the more injured.
Charlie would constantly stop and chug a vial of blue liquid which Boops quickly identified to be a mana recovery potion.
The gates of Muno were wide open at that point with numerous people hurrying over to assist the wounded.
Most of the blue barrack members were joining in to help carry the injured away to the temple in the city. Though the temple was abandoned it could still serve as a place where the injured could be treated.
Jason went to help the people treating the injured. Most of the injured came from the spearmen, from what Jason had heard the saber wielding figure had managed to wreak havoc there. Jason saw a red barrack member with his armor taken off. Jason recognized him as the person who helped him out back at the training center when he had collapsed at the gym.
He had slash wounds everywhere across his body and his limbs were completely covered in bandages. Jason could only imagine what they looked like. The red barrack member groaned in pain and tried to move around. Charlie rushed over and cast a healing spell over him.
Some of the wounds on his body closed up slowly but the big ones like the deep slash on his leg were still there.
Jason and Charlie worked together to stanch one of his wounds that had started to bleed out again. Once they had finished that Charlie wiped off the sweat and rushed to the next injured person who was a blue barrack member who had a stab wound in his back.
Lyle had managed to save a large number of people with his shunpo skill which was like an instantaneous move skill. But he could only save so much. The spearmen and red barrack members had taken the largest amount of injured.
A sudden commotion came from the city gates and Charlie motioned to him to check it out. Jason rushed to where a group of blue barrack members and the rest of the spearmen were waiting.
And from the city gates emerged a procession of archers, in the front was the Baron. Instead of the elegant military-style clothes, he wore before, he had what could only be described as a rangers garb, covered in darkish clothes with a simple bow and quiver on his side.
But the respect the people around him did not diminish in fact, it seems it grew after watching him fight.
The baron drew back the brown hood and looked at the defenders with a smile.
His elegant white hair seemed to reflect the morning sun magnificently and your eyes couldn't help but be drawn to him. He took a few steps forward and spoke
"defenders of Muno, I thank you for your hard work, we have eliminated the leader of those terrible bandits that have plagued us for 5 years, and we are finally free from him. I now declare this day as a festival for the city of Muno. It shall be named..."
The Baron looked at Charlie who gave him a thumbs up. The Baron nodded towards Charlie thankfully and continued
"the rose festival where we celebrate the people who freed us!"
The Baron then swept back his hand in an inviting gesture to the city
"Please, allow us to entertain you for all of your hard work"
Jitsuryoku walked up and with a nonchalant smile accepted the invitation.
"but," he said "allow us to help the injured first and bury the dead, that will always be our first priority"
The Baron accepted and allowed the rose knight platoon time for themselves.
The rose knight trainees' happy victorious atmosphere seemed to die down at that moment.
And they all collectively went over to where Charlie and more of the medical soldiers were tending to the injured.
The blue barrack members went to help out Charlie and the medical soldiers, though they were not very good at treating the wounded they helped in every way they could. Sadly an affinity with light was very rare and none of them could use any healing magic.
The red barrack members after resting for a bit rose up and tried to help. Jason deeply regretted not being able to help besides bandaging a wound or two.
After a bit of time, the rose knights along with the spearmen of Muno gathered around at a certain point on the battlefield.
