Gathering

Jason went over to where the fighters were gathering. In the middle of the circle their were a few bodies. Jason counted 60 of them. And in the midst of the dead spearmen were 2 rose knight trainee bodies.

One was a red barrack member and the other was a blue barrack member. They were both covered in wounds one had fallen to the surprise attack of the hooded figures daggers and the other one had been stabbed in the back and swarmed over.

The rose knights and spearmen sorrowfully gathered around them. The team members of the 2 fallen men buried them. While the families of the spearmen were brought out to mourn them. Everyone else stood in silence as they witnessed people cry over the bodies of the people who fought to protect them.

Jason watched as the two rose knight trainees were laid to rest on the battlefield along with the spearmen. He didn't really know those two people, and he wasn't too attached to them. But he felt sorrow for them and the families of them.

Boops told him quietly

'I know that we won, but remember every victory comes at a price, someday if you are not careful, it could be you burying the ones close to you, even if they are NPC's take this as a lesson of life'

Jason nodded as he watched the team members of the two fallen trainees shed tears as they lowered their bodies into their graves.

As he watched and observed the sorrow on everyone's faces. He started to see the value of comradeship between the rose knights. He didn't know how long they knew each other, but he knew they valued each and everyone one of them.

As they were put in Jason asked himself some questions. What would happen if he were the one burying a person close to him? what emotions would he feel?

Jason was quickly assaulted by more and more thoughts. As Jitsuryoku stepped forward in a solemn manner. He looked at the dead bodies and spoke softly

"These men fought and died with honor and bravery, that is the reality with a campaign. It's a shame they cannot be there when we become true rose knights, but I'm sure these two guys wouldn't want us to weep over them day and night. They knew what it meant to sign up as a rose knight."

The team members of the two fallen rose knights nodded as they wiped away the tears that were forming in their eyes.

Jason witnessed them bury the dead and have a small military-style funeral for them and after that, they went back into the city of Muno to celebrate a bit. Though the atmosphere was a bit heavy from the loss of their comrades.

Boops could see that a few of the rose knight members were a bit shaken losing one of their comrades. So perhaps this was a good time for them to grow as they had been training to fight their entire lives and hadn't had to face a loss yet.

Jitsuryoku after bringing all of the wounded to the temple with the rest of the platoon brought them to a tavern where they celebrated their victory with food and beer. Jason had to abstain from drinking since he was underage and instead opted for some juice.

Lyle and Mark were making a ruckus in the center of the bar. It was Ethan who was trying to calm them down as Charlie had gone to the temple to help the wounded.

Overall it was a cheery atmosphere if the defense had failed them lots of lives would have been lost to the bandits plundering.

Jason looked at his status next to Colby and Ardem who silently drunk together.

He was currently level 66 and he got a large number of empty status points that he could allocate.

From what he had gathered every 25 stat points a special title would be given, since Jason had gotten his charm past 50 he was able to see that. He first put enough stat points into wisdom so that it could go past 25.

As he put in the status points a notification came up

[your wisdom has surpassed 25!]

[you have gained the title (wise person)]

[wise person: your wisdom has grown to a large extent your mana recovery has increased by 10%]

[your stats have all passed 25!]

[+20 fame]

[you have gained recognition for your strength]

[you have gained the title (first to surpass)]

[first to surpass: you have been the first to pass the 25 stat point on all main attributes, people who can see your strength will acknowledge your enevors]

Jason didn't see any effect on the title. So he put it away as useless. Boops urged him to take a break. So Jason decided to leave the rest of his free stat points for another day and asked Ardem if it was okay to go to the nearest inn and crash for a day.

Ardem nodded and from what Jason knew about Ardem, it meant that the rose knight trainees weren't going to set out for another few days.

Jason quickly said his goodbyes, Lyle and Mark encouraged him to hang around but he gently refused and set out.

At this point, it was already evening and the city seemed to settle down after all of the chaos of the night before. People were taking leisurely strolls outside and some people were still busily walking around.

There weren't too many people but instead of the abandoned vibe, it gave off before it seemed more peaceful and tranquil.

Jason yawned and stretched his arms as he approached an inn. He paid for his room and lazily climbed up the stairs to where his room was. He quickly found his room and opened the door to jump into the bed.

The moment his body hit the bed he was already logged out and his avatar went to sleep.

In reality, the capsule opened. And a shirtless Jason sat up from the lying down position he had been in for what seemed to be a few days. His body was sore and aching. But when he gripped his fists he could still feel the same power and strength as in-game. Jason remembered that the Subordination System would affect his body in reality and alter it to whatever his status was like in the game.

Jason went over to his bed to test it. And he simply tightened his grip around the bed frame and stood up, only to notice later that the entire bed went up with him as he did so. Jason looked at his hand which was still gripping the bed frame and the bed which looked like it was floating and then realized the magnitude of his status.

He wondered if Persues and Arjuna would also have their status, in reality, get affected by their ones in-game. Boops said yes. Which made Jason happy.

Jason was exhausted, but for some reason. His heart was still pounding from the events that had happened before. He was physically exhausted but his mind was so alert that there was no point in trying to sleep.

After convincing himself that he couldn't sleep yet. Jason went outside, it had been a while since he went out. And after grabbing his black and grey jacket and slipping on some pants he walked out.

A cool breeze hit him that made him feel at peace, and as he walked through the neighborhood he started to calm down.

As the sun started to set, Jason kept on wandering through the neighborhood. The lamp lights started to turn on. And occasionally another pedestrian would pass by and see him.

Their glance would linger on him for a bit, but seeing nothing interesting made them continue on their lives.

Jason soon reached the school where he was technically attending but with the help of Luna's family, he managed to avoid having to go. It was currently nighttime and no movement could be seen in the building.

Jason gave it a glance and passed it heading towards his final destination.

He went through a few more streets and finally reached a bridge. Underneath it was the river he had went to a few times.

Jason reached the river bank on the other side and sat down under the moon in peaceful solitude. He watched the river flow in silence as his mind quickly ran through the events of the day.

He had started the final trial and journeyed to another territory. He split off with some people to save a village from goblins and somehow managed to outrun the rose knights to their destination and set up a good amount of traps for the bandits to fall into.

Then after that, they took down the bandit's advanced party and even took out the main bandit army with the help of the soldiers of Muno. It was crazy and hectic. But Jason was proud of all that they had done.

He looked at the river, and a bit of childishness was in his voice as he said quietly

"Today I fought in a battle, and won!"
