Jason woke up, slapped his face a few times, and jumped into the capsule. Boops was extremely confused as he didn't even need to play the noise of fingernails on a blackboard over and over again in his ear to wake him up.
Jason quickly navigated the starting screen in the capsule and booted up WOW.
The familiar notifications met him
[logging in]
[welcome player arch]
Jason opened his eyes to see the inns wooden roof. He jumped up out of the bed fresh with energy. After he had done his thing at the river he suddenly felt a huge wave of fatigue and went back to the apartment to sleep. Jason quickly dove into his bed before Perseus and Arjuna could get him to make them food.
A notification met Jason as he woke up
[your platoon leaders have decided to take a break]
[they will set out at noon]
[time remaining: 3 hours and 17 minutes]
Jason quickly looked at the notifications and then dismissed them. He went out of the inn in a good mood. And the bright sun met him as he stepped out he walked out and looked around the place curiously. The inn he had gone to was in the city square. Where things were the busiest, and even though the city of Muno was partially abandoned, you could still see people walking around. Most of them were dressed normally, with a few people who wore rich clothes.
The clear tower that was in the center of the city caught his eye. And just like what any 15 year old would do. He went towards it.
Jason quickly passed through the people, who would smile at him as he passed. He didn't realize why until he looked down to see the standard issued clothes that the rose knights gave, with the famous rose knight emblem on it.
Jason didn't know it yet, but just being able to wear the rose knight emblem meant a lot to the inhabitants of the Belusian Kingdom.
The houses of Muno were empty but the people had smiles on their faces. Jason reached the crystal tower quickly. He gazed at it from the bottom and momentarily got amazed.
It was like a skyscraper from Jason's point of view and the glint it gave off from the sun made it look even more majestic. It was taller than the city walls and it was close to where the city mansion was.
Jason circled around the crystal tower looking for an entrance. But the entire tower was just made out of the blue/clear crystal with no entrance in sight. After a few minutes of unsuccessful searching.
He gave up and knocked on the door. A sudden notification popped up and surprised Jason.
[you do not fit the requirements to enter here!]
Jason stared at the notifications for a few seconds, he already knew that this notification meant something. He whispered to Boops
"we're coming back here"
To which Boops replied by writing it down on the system's to-do list.
With nothing else that really interested Jason, he went off to randomly explore. On a whim, he went across the city again to the walls. He slowly went up to the top of the walls bored as heck.
On top of the walls, was actually Lyle and Mark who were sitting there quietly. Lyle gave Jason a small greeting of "sup" and returned to just sitting on the edge of the walls. Jason could tell that they were busy thinking about something so he just sat on the walls a few feet away from them and stared into the valley.
The peaceful valley seemed to calm him down. As he thought about what was going to happen after this. Jason didn't think the final trial was over, the quest hadn't finished yet so it meant that the rose knight platoon was going on another adventure. He had to make sure that the wolves would stay alive throughout all of it. Which reminded Jason, the wolves had leveled up a bit. He had also remembered seeing some of the wolves at a breakthrough mainly the leader ones like Jeffery, Lance, and Asher.
Jason quickly opened their status
[displaying Lance's stats]
[Lance]
[age: 20 (wolf years)]
[level: 51 (recent breakthrough)]
[new skills: (leadership) (enhanced sight)]
[displaying Asher's stats]
[Asher]
[age: 21 (wolf years)]
[level: 52 (recent breakthrough)]
[new skills: (leadership) (pounce)]
[displaying Jeffery's stats]
[Jeffery]
[age: 5 (wolf years)]
[level 50 (recent breakthrough)]
[new skills: (piercing howl) (enhanced smell) (pursuit)]
As Jason looked at the stats of the wolves Boops started to talk mutter to himself
'so that means every being, even if it's a non-human has to face a breakthrough in order to level up past level 49, huh this is valuable information'
Jason checked the moon rune that he had gotten as a reward from the system. He looked over the description and the little message it gave afterward.
[moon rune: a mysterious rune from the protector of the moon]
[details: it's brand new and does not have much power, but with lots of time and care it can grow into something magnificent!]
[the moon rune seems to have an attraction to the wolves]
Jason didn't know what the moon rune was used for, but it definitely had something to do with the wolves. If Jason remembered correctly the alpha wolf was past level 50 and could do a long-ranged crescent slash from his claws. He would probably know a bit.
Jason looked at the rune which still puzzled him. Even the information he had gotten about runes in the headspace didn't help him.
Time passed as Jason kept on wondering what he should do with all of the things he had. He still had a monster core that he could use to make a golem. He had already decided on a bird type of golem. He also had a mana crystal bomb recipe from Mark and a few thousand points he got from the campaign the times he made food for the platoon and wolves. He had some other stuff that was interesting like his systems gatcha system. Or even the shop that he had neglected for a while.
Jason groaned as he looked over the list of stuff that he needed to do.
Boops reassured Jason by saying he would help, but he had to get a subsystem too.
It seems Jason was too lost in thought as he looked through all of the various items and things that he had forgotten about as Lyle shook his shoulder causing Jason to almost jump up in shock and plummet down the city walls.
Jason realigned his breathing and turned to Lyle who was pretending he didn't do anything bad.
Jason looked at Lyle with a bit of a glare
"what?"
Lyle pointed to the sun which was right above them.
"its noon, we are setting out"
Jason quickly jumped off of the battlement and looked at where Lyle was pointing. He saw the sun shining bright and the timer in his eyesight as
[time remaining: 12 min 4 sec]
They had enough time to get down to the city gates where the rose knights were getting ready so Jason walked down the walls with Lyle and Mark.
Jason decided to ask some questions as he was still not completely sure about what the campaign was about.
"sooo, are we going back to the training center?"
Lyle gave a small laugh and shook his head
"na, we just started, remember the missions we were given? it was to protect and save this territory from being overrun by bandits and monsters. We've slightly taken care of the bandit, our intelligence says that the Welf guy that we were facing was basically the leader of the bandits around here. So you could say we have half of the problem fixed, now as for the second part of the missions the monsters, that's a who different problem."
Jason nodded, the final trial was starting to make more and more sense as Lyle explained it in his simplified and laid back way of speaking.
"so where are we going after this?"
Lyle shrugged his shoulders
"donno, what i do know is that this city and the villages around it are the ones that are most frequently attacked which usually means that the place where all of them come is near here that was why we all rushed as fast as we could overhear, since if this city fell, the northern part of the territory would have fallen as well and we probably would have lost a potential stronghold against whatever we are facing"
Jason looked at Lyle impressed at his knowledge, he expressed it by saying
"wow Lyle I didn't think you were this knowledgeable stuff like this"
Lyle grinned and puffed up his chest
"well, I wasn't raised in a noble household for nothing!"
Jason laughed and followed Lyle to where Mark was waiting for them at the end of the stairs where the walls meet the ground. The rose knights were forming up and getting their supplies and gear ready.
