Jason and the group of humans and wolves that were traveling with him approached a large house a few miles outside of the city of Herdita.
The wolves were noticeably excited Jason could tell because of their tails wagging at light speed and the two humans Natalie and Adaran were also excited at the prospect of seeing their new home.
Jason turned left and followed a smaller trail that branched out of the main road. He had to push aside some branches and even warn the people behind him of some roots that extended into the trail.
Eventually, Jason got annoyed and pulled out his sword, and started to clear a path with it. The alpha wolf also known as Adawolf, walked up and slashed with his claws. A crescent white blade of light flew out and cut all of the overgrown weeds on the trail in a precise fashion.
Adawolf gave Jason a small grin and then walked back to the rest of the wolves. Jeffery who was hyperly jumping around and playing with the excited kid Adaran suddenly stopped and announced
"HOOMANS, LITTLE HOOMANS IN FROUNT"
The entire group tensed up but Jason reassured them.
"that would be members of the silver wing guild," he said
Truthfully Jason already knew that the silver wing guild members were ahead of him since he was looking at the map the entire time. But he really didn't want Jeffery to feel bad that he could out-smell him.
As Jason was thinking these things a procession of boys appeared in his vision. They were all around 9-13 years old, all holding different weapons from small daggers to tall swords that looked a bit too big for them. Each of them had regular second-hand clothes on but they all lined up and faced the group approaching them in a straight line with determined expressions.
"Who are you," the one with pinkish hair said in the most intimidating voice he could muster
Jason calmly walked up and said
"I'm your master's brother, take me to him"
The pink-haired boy looked at Jason and shook under his intimidating gaze. He then looked at the rose emblem and fancy amour Jason was wearing and shook like a leaf. He simply nodded his head and said weakly
"y-yes please follow me"
Jason followed the kids while Boops remarked in his head
'ehhh, we need Perseus to train these kids to not just let anyone in that easily like that'
Jason agreed but reminded Boops that they were still kids
Boops scoffed
'Yeah I know, but still, you're only a few years older than them'
The silver wing guild members lead Jason and the group to the house and the group sat stunned. It wasn't as big or beautiful as the rose mansion. It didn't even have anything too cool like the emblems on it either.
But something about the huge building in front of them. Seemed to alive, from the brown tiled roofs to the white walls that had kids running around them playing.
To the entrance that had 2 large wooden doors with a group of kids lying on the stairs below it chatting happily.
In the background, you could see large fields where kids trained some were pushing spears into dummies over and over again. Others were slashing at them nonstop with swords. Some shot arrows into them and Jason saw a mini obstacle course fashioned out of logs and rope were kids were running through.
The green grass the bright blue sky, the cool breeze, and the open fields that stretched for a while before they meet the forests. The small warehouses that were littered in the space could fit almost anything.
The entire group was extremely happy the wolves had the urge to just roll around on the grassy field just like in the training center, but the alpha wolf stopped them.
Natalie smiled happily at the joyful smiles of the silver wing guild members as they played on the fields. She was a bit worried at first, about what she and her son were getting into. But a child's honest smile was one of the most telltale signs of a place.
Reassurance flooded her heart. And when she looked at her son who was itching to go over and play with the other silver wings guild she could feel her heart almost burst from happiness.
The doors of the main house were opened and a handsome blond-haired boy walked out of them followed by a brown-haired boy who had two daggers strapped to his waist and a roguelike amour on his body. He followed the blond-haired boy with a fervent expression on his face.
The kids who were sitting at the stairs underneath the doors all froze and looked up to see Perseus, they all jumped up and surrounded him.
"Master!" they cried out "when will you take us to go fishing?"
A genuine smile came from Perseus as he heard it and he ruffled their heads and said
"why not today?"
Hearing that the entire group of kids jumped up in happiness and did a little dance.
Perseus kneeled down to get to their height and said
"Alright I need to talk with my brother, so go and get ready in 2 hours okay?"
The group of guild members nodded and trotted away to tell everyone else that they were going fishing.
Perseus watched the group of kids run away with a fond expression on his face. He looked at Jason and the group of people approaching them and extended his arms.
"Welcome!" he said in a loud voice "to the silver wings guild!"
Jason walked up the stairs while the rest of the group waited at the bottom. He hugged Perseus who kept his arms outstretched for that very reason.
"its been a while master" Perseus whispered
"its been 10 hours Perseus" Jason responded
Perseus broke out of the hug and laughed
"still, it feels weird to meet you here," he said
Jason nodded but then he realized that the group of people he had lead were awkwardly standing behind him.
Perseus picked up on Jason's intentions and walked down the stairs and said with an elegant smile.
"it would seem you are my brother's friends and guests, please make yourself welcome for as long as you like here"
And saying that Perseus extended his hand towards the house and the surrounding property.
Jason whispered to Perseus
"where the heck did you learn to speak like that?"
Perseus quietly responded
"I read a book"
Meanwhile, what Perseus said was like the push to start a train of dominos once the wolves saw Perseus extending his hand in an inviting gesture they all burst out of their tight-knit circle and started to spread out and relax on the grass.
Adaran ran over to introduce himself to the nearest group of kids. Perseus was sure that he could blend in well with the rest of the silver wings members, after all they had gone through similar things.
So the only person that remained was Natalie who simply waited for Jason and Perseus to finish conversating.
She looked at them both and said with a smile
"so I guess I'm going to take care of all of them?"
A large grin spread over Perseus's face as he gave a polite bow
"yes, and we would be forever indebted to you"
Natalie looked back to see her son getting washed by a group of kids who were already soaking wet. They then all proceeded to run out under the bright sun and chase each other sometimes diving on each other and making each other muddy.
Her son emerged from the ground all muddy which made her kinda mad, but he had a brilliant smile on his face and he proceeded to chase the person that had just brought him to the ground with cheerful laughter.
Of course, her son caught up to him and tackled him back.
After seeing this Natalie looked back at Perseus and said with a smile her blond hair flying up from the wind, her blue eyes sparkled.
"of course have you seen those kids' clothes? they look like rags! and some don't even look that well feed! what have you been feeding them!"
Persues avoided Natalies eyes as he said in a soft voice
"uhhh, fish"
Jason could almost see Natalie explode as she stepped up the stairs to look at Perseus who was still trying to avoid her gaze
"AND THEY DON'T HAVE ANY FRUITS AND VEGETABLES?"
she shouted out in a furious manner
Perseus backed up from her intimidating housewife mode and said
"they are expensive here! and besides, I'm sure Arch will be sure to cook a healthy meal for them right?"
Natalie turned to Jason and looked expectantly
Jason saw Perseus begging with his eyes. So eventually he sighed
"yeah, ill try my best"
Natalie paused to think about the delicious food that Jason had made when they were traveling. There was a reason why he was in charge of making food every day. In fact, she was pretty sure his skill in cooking exceeded hers.
"fine," she said her head filled with the food Jason made.
"ill allow it"
