Adventure

Jason walked down the road, he turned back to look at the huge rose mansion that shone in the sunlight. He remembered seeing it as an ugly red mansion when he first came there lead by Lady Megra herself and now he looked back at it, a beautiful mansion, that had transformed in front of his very own eyes into a white mansion with red and gold accents and the various platoon emblems inscribed onto the walls.

And now Jason also bore a rose emblem proudly on his back.

"mommy why is Arch looking at the ugly red mansion?"

Jason chuckled to himself as Natalie the mother he had saved back at the city of Muno in the ransacked village quickly covered Adaran's mouth. Adaran was riding on Jeffery's back as he and the rest of the pack walked with Jason and Natalie away from the rose knight training center.

"I apologize" Natalie quickly said while Jason shook his head

"no," he said, the kids right, most of the people see it as an ugly red mansion, I thought it was too when I first came here.

Adaran cocked his head and asked curiously

"then what is it?"

Jason laughed and said to Adaran

"you'll see it when you get older"

The three of them continued walking down the road to the city of Herdita. Jason felt kinda weird, he was walking away from the rose knight training center without any plans to return.

"Are you guys sure you want to follow me?" Jason asked the wolves who were all happily walking down the road with him.

Jeffery was the first to yell out

"WHERE BOSS GOES WE FOLLOW"

All of the wolves echoed the statement Jeffery made, even the alpha wolf and the newer wolves that had just integrated with the rest of the pack.

Jason laughed a bit when he remembered the scene when the wolves were about to leave the rose knight training center.

The entire green barrack along with Ardem in the front had hurtled through the trees and landed in front of them with an intense fire in their eyes.

"where," Ardem said while looking at Jason straight in the eyes.

Jason responded with the answer he had prepared

"We are heading to my little brother's guild, the wolves can't stay in the training center forever, even you guys can't stay in the training center any longer, we are graduating and are no longer trainees, even the wolves have been granted the true appearance of the rose mansion, please don't hold them back"

Ardem stared at Lance who was the wolf that he had partnered with personally multiple times. Many times Lance had helped him track and take out monsters that would have taken ages to track or kill. Besides the falcon on Ardem's shoulder and a few others, Lance was one of the best partners he had ever had.

Each of the green barrack members made eye contact with the wolves that they had partnered with. To see them leave the rose knight training center, felt wrong to them, but they also knew that Jason was right. They were now rose knights, they couldn't stay in the training center, and neither could the wolves.

Ardem looked at Lance who gave him a solemn nod with respect to all of the mini adventures they had together.

Ardem gave a deep and heavy sigh, looked one last time at Lance, and then walked off. Slowly the rest of the green barrack members walked off with Ardem walking deep into the forest with the luminescent rose on their emblem flashing in the light.

Slowly one by one they disappeared into the shadows of the forest. Only one person remained from the green barracks. It was Jamie, the person that had stayed behind in the final trial to take care of the injured villagers. He smiled at Jason

"so, any chance we can meet them again?"

Jason grinned

"of course, just head to the silver wings guild house, they should be relaxing over there, feel free to take them on hunts, missions, or anything like that"

Jamie gave the biggest grin possible, nodded, and walked away into the forest where the rest of the green barrack members had disappeared into.

Jason could hear cheering deep in the forest a few minutes later but he pretended to ignore it out of courtesy.

Jason still laughed whenever he thought about that incident, he hadn't noticed the bond that the wolves and the green barrack members had forged until much later and he regretted not being able to work more with them.

He felt a bit of melancholy as Ardem walked away. The memories of him training him in the rose knight swordsmanship while he got virtually beat up were fresh in his mind.

And that one remark he had given to Jason, the one that seemed like it held so much meaning and emotion. Jason would never forget it.

It felt like a goodbye to Ardem for some reason. Jason didn't know why, but he felt like he wouldn't see Ardem for a very long time.

Jason shook his head, thinking about it too much wasn't good he had learned that from experience. All that he needed to do was to continue on, and hopefully, someday their paths would cross again.

The group of humans and wolves journeyed down the road, in general, having a good time, the wolves were circling around the humans in a flutter others were running off for a bit only to be corralled back by the older wolves.

Jason smiled as they walked down. He stopped as the rest of the group walked forward to admire the scenery, but a loud almost childish voice shouted out from behind him.

"HEY ARCH, EVER HEARD OF A GOODBYE?"

Jason sharply sucked in his breath knowing that he was screwed.

A sudden force hit him in the back and made him fall to the ground. Lyle sat on top of Jason, his red hair glinting in the sun, and an angry expression on his face as he said.

"I get it if you can't live with us, but fricking tell us!"

Two pairs of hands hauled off Lyle and lifted up Jason. Ethan and Mark, both with annoyed faces saying simultaneously

"what are we? chopped liver?"

While Ethan's horse neighed angrily in the background.

Colby and Charlie were the last two to reach Jason. Jason noticed that all of them were dressed in new gear besides Charlie and Lyle that he had seen already. Colby still had the full metal body amour he had before, but everything had an upgrade, his shield looked like it could tank a goblin leader's attack, and his armor from his gauntlets to his helm looked sharp, polished, and strong with the platoon emblem proudly inscribed on all of them.

Ethan instead of the simple adventures sword he had on before, was now holding a cavalry spear. While Mark had two swords sheathed on his waist.

Charlie walked up to Jason and placed his armored hand on Jason's shoulder.

"We heard from Lady Megra, you won't be living with us and fighting with us every day, instead you'll be fighting on another front. We have the same mission though, so expect our paths to cross many times"

Lyle quickly added in while he was petting one of the wolves

"and you better let us visit you, ya know, make us some food"

Jason smiled and answered

"my brother's guild house has plenty of room"

The Blue 2 team celebrated while Lyle accidentally let out a small line of drool as he thought about Jason's food.

Charlie gave a happy grin and brushed his curly brown hair back

"the rest of the platoon wishes you fortune and luck, you may have been with us for only a short period of time, but you've changed and saved many of our lives"

Jason at this point was stuck. He didn't really know what to say at this point. He had never experienced something like this before in his life. He just stared at Charlie while he felt something overcome him like a wave of water.

There all around him were the people and animals that he had spent most of his time with. He was saying goodbye to some and bringing the rest to a brand new place.

He didn't know what to say or what to do. But as he was doubting himself Colby walked up from the back and gently gave Jason a push towards the wolves and 2 humans that were waiting for him.

Colby smiled which was a huge thing for everyone since it was the first time they had seen it and pointed towards the group still waiting for Jason.

Jason looked one last time at the Blue 2 team. The team he had journeyed with, adventured with, fought together with. Kicked butt with. Saved lives with.

Lyle let out a laugh and shouted out

"Go! we'll see you soon"

Jason took a deep breath and turned around.

He ran to the group that was waiting for him as the Blue 2 team watched him run to them.

That's right Jason said to himself. I need to press on, and maybe someday our paths will cross again.

And a new chapter began.
