Final encounter?

Jason emerged from the tunnel, grinning as he rubbed the golden-green ring on his finger. Finally! an epic rated item!

A joyful laugh escaped from Jason's lips as he crawled out of the tunnel. He was glad he took the small trip to the room. In his inventory was now a booklet of the dwarf Gondrun Metalmaster. He also had the short sword and pickaxe that the skeleton was holding. Both were unique rated the pickaxe gave +30% mining efficiency and the short sword had a piecing attribute and Jason was extremely happy with them.

He was planning to give the short sword to Perseus. But Perseus refused saying that he used longer swords.

Rocky, Perseus and Jason journeyed down the dungeon, thankfully another horde of giant rats never appeared, and instead just small groups of cave goblins, and the occasional slime were the only things they came across.

The cave goblin was almost completely like a regular goblin except instead of green skin it had a crusty brown one. The cave goblin also had a weak vision which could be easily taken advantage of, Perseus once simply walked up to a cave goblin and stabbed it.

The cave goblin didn't even notice Perseus until it was too late.

As for the slimes. They were just grey blobs that moved around the dungeon. Like always, the core, a tiny red-looking gem was the weak spot of the slime.

Rocky was an expert in dealing with slimes, he simply just smashed the slime repeatedly with his mace until he broke the core. To which the slime would dissipate and turn into blue flakes.

Jason decided to take as many detours as he could, every time he spotted a tunnel leading to a secret room he frantically, along with Perseus and Rocky scoured the entire corridor stamping on the tiles, punching the walls, and more until finally after a trap was activated. Like a poison arrow or swinging mace, Jason would find a small hole that only one human could squeeze through.

They did that twice as they traveled down the corridor.

And though the loot wasn't as good as the first one that Jason looted. Rocky had a shiny new shield, that gave him +3 to his stamina and an option that granted him the (protection) skill. It was a unique rank and Rocky happily held up his shield in glee. Perseus had a new shoulder guard that he carefully and securely placed onto his shoulder.

The shoulder guard gave stat bonuses to agility, and also resistance to piercing attacks.

Jason planned to have his sword absorb a few of the extra swords that he had. While it was already strong, it lacked the cutting power that Jason wanted, and he sometimes felt that he had to exert more force to have it cut through things.

But Jason was happy with what he had. And he was glad to give the great loot he got to Perseus and Rocky, he was sure they would be able to use them well.

Thinking that Jason looked up at the huge entrance to the large room that the three of them had been aiming for the entire time.

"what the frick is that," he said to himself.

Perseus and Rocky only nodded staring up at it agreeing with Jason's disbelief.

As they had walked down the corridor, they noticed that it had started to expand, the signs of a mine started to slowly disappear, there were no more wooden support structures, no little dug up veins where ore was probably buried.

It widened out into a large natural cavern, and Boops reported that it looked like the people who had been mining had broken into the cavern they were walking in.

There were no more monsters once they entered the cavern and exited the mine.

But as they reached the entrance a strange eeriness assaulted them. The entrance was probably the source of all of that.

The entrance to what Jason and the rest assumed to be the final room stood tower over them, it was carved into the stone, with large intricate ridges and arcs on the top, and as it swooped down into a detailed mural that was depicted on the doors.

Jason looked over to Perseus who was looking around the giant door trying to see if there was anything valuable that he could take.

Rocky was still in awe at the sheer size of the entrance. He looked back at Jason and asked

"Are we really going through these?"

Jason nodded and looked around quickly. Rocky raised his shield and mace taking a deep breath.

Perseus walked over his hand over the hilt of his sword ready to unsheath it whenever needed.

Jason walked up the door stone doors and gave them a light push.

With a loud rumbling noise, they pushed open. As they opened it revealed a wide room, much bigger than what Jason had expected when he saw it on the map. Small lanterns hanged on the walls, giving off a soft yellow but the light could only light up a bit of their surroundings.

The first thing Jason noticed as the doors slowly opened was a small light at the very back of the room. But the light was only in the very back. As the doors opened the light seemed to jump out and glow brighter than before. The light that was given off, seemed to shine a pure white, unlike the sickly yellow light given off by the lanterns on the walls. Jason looked closer and he saw a sword stuck in a pedestal as it shone with the pure white light. It shook and quivered almost like it was struggling to escape from the pitch-black pedestal that held it there.

Boops let out an alarmed shout as the doors opened.

'Jason! there are 5 huge red dots on the map!"

Jason glanced to where the map was showing the red dots and under the cover of darkness. He spotted 4 pairs of red eyes glaring at him.

He heard a deep snarl emanate from one of them.

Unfortunately, he made eye contact with one of them. It seems like it was the tallest one of the pair of red eyes. It started to march towards Jason with rumbling steps.

Jason looked back to see Rocky trembling as the pair of red eyes came closer and closer to them.

It stepped into the light of one of the lanterns.

It could only be described as a golem monster. It stood on two feet, its face jutted out with spikes, a small crown of stalactites seemed to stem from its back and its entire body seemed to be made out of a hard metallic scale. Even though each scale was perfectly lined up on the monster's body an ominous red glow was emitted out of the cracks. It was darker and more bloody than Jason's rose-red color.

It held a pillar about the thickness of 3 basketballs and it stood over 15 meters tall.

The monsters' face was flat, but Jason noticed black iron chains covering the monster's body, each inscribed with a fiery red rune.

The monster stomped towards Jason and the rest. Dragging the pillar behind it. It looked at Jason in the eye once, giving him a fearsome glare, and raised the pillar above his head.

Boops broke the silence

'DODGE' He yelled and Jason managed to snap to his senses and leap out of the way as the pillar came smashing down. Jason spared the spot where the monster struck and saw that it had been completely smashed in. Cracks and small pebbles were the only things left of that piece of ground.

Jason looked over to see Rocky and Perseus, looking at the golem monster in a sort of daze.

He ran over to them and gave them both a solid punch to the shoulder.

They both seemed to snap awake at the pain and noticed the golem monster chasing after them.

Jason yelled out to Rocky

"don't try and block dodge"

And the three of them all collectively dodged the next smashing attack from the golem monster.

Jason backed up with the three trying to figure out how to approach the golem monster.

He quickly analyzed it

[guardian golem]

[level 112]

[skills: (fear gaze), (smashing blow), (self destruct), (stone skin), (berserk)]

Jason and Boops both collectively started to string up a list of expletives as they looked at the golems stats and skills.

"We are kinda screwed aren't we" Jason muttered to himself as he turned back to Persues. Boops passed the information to Perseus and reacted by gripping his sword even harder.

"master," Perseus said determinedly, "I think we can win this"

Jason looked back at the golem monster that was stomping towards them. Eventually, they would run out of space.

"Are you sure?"

Perseus nodded his head.

"fine, we'll try it your way," Jason said with a laugh, he stood up and faced the golem monster as it got closer and closer. His sword was outstretched surrounded by a red aura. Jason didn't like to wait for his opponents, so after taking a quick breath he rushed in.

He noticed somebody next to him as he dashed towards the golem. Perseus ran next to him, his legs glowing in blue light. Perseus gave him one last nod and then split off with Jason both angling slowly towards the golem monster from different directions.
