Jason swore internally as he saw the two golems simultaneously activate their berserk state. He saw what happened to the other two and he did not want to fight something like that again unless he had an armed Perseus at his side.
The horse reared up as scales fell off one by one revealing a patterned brightly glowing blue color that reminded Jason of the color of the ocean. The knight's armor dropped down and revealed a humanoid figure with veins of brown and grey. Even its lance and shield had glowing grey and brown lines running through them.
Boops quietly sent the information of the two golems to Jason.
[guardian golem(berserk water)]
[level: 106]
[skills: (charge), (rushing charge), (dashing flow), (highly increased agility),( water stride),(dash of waves),(song of the deep]
[guardian golem(berserk earth)]
[level 130]
[skills: (jousting arts),(shield arts),(rider arts),( horseman),(sword arts),(increased dexterity), (polearm arts),(increased defence), (shield of earth),(seismic slam),]
Jason swore again in his head as he viewed the stats again and sent it over to Perseus. Perseus was looking around for something, anything to fight with, he had his daggers, but there was no way that he could go against a lance with them.
Jason ran over to Perseus, ready to hand him a new weapon. But a blur of blue and grey light dashed between the two. The golem knight on the top of the horse swung hits lance in a wide arc, a blast of wind flew out from the swing.
Jason looked around seeing no way around the golem knight. He sighed and closed his eyes momentarily.
"why me" he complained internally as he opened his eyes. Glowing bright red with a newfound intensity.
He opened his left hand to let a metal skewer materialize in it. He took a deep breath and activated some of his skills
(2nd form) (piercing strike)
The aura surrounding Jason filtered towards his legs and arm and leaving cracks on the ground Jason burst forth leaping into the air he pulled back his left arm and grit his teeth as he lanched the metal skewer forward with all of the speed and intensity he had.
But he didn't stop at that one attack the moment he threw the metal skewer he dropped to the ground and ran towards the knight and horse with his sword aimed towards the horse. He again activated his skills
(slash) (poison blade)
He lowered his entire stance in hopes of them not seeing him for a few more extra seconds. Kinda looking like a certain ninja boy's run.
The knight raised its shield as the metal skewer flew towards them at a furious pace.
It charged into the shield and the knight used both hands to attempt to hold the force of the metal skewer back as it pushed harder and harder against it.
The horse was the first one to see him, but it was already too late. It reared up waving its hooves and slamming them down to release a torrent of water.
But Jason was too close he burst through the torrent of water and slid underneath the horse's legs stabbing into its underbelly with his sword. The horse golem buckled momentarily throwing the knight off balance.
Jason attempted to combo, swinging around right as the knight thrust its lance at him.
Jason watched the lance approach his chest almost in slow motion. But a grin erupted on his face. As he turned around, another metal skewer appeared in his hand, and using the momentum of his turn he launched it into the horse's red-eye.
The eye shattered as the skewer passed clean through it. And another shriek emanated from the top of the chamber.
The horse finally collapsed, leaving the knight golem with a thrust that had no balance and force to push off of. The lance fell away mere inches away from Jason's chest as both the knight and horse tumbled to the floor. The horse falling onto the rider's legs.
Jason capitalized on the situation and jumped towards the rider with his sword, intending to take out another one of these "precious" eyes.
But a dark brown shield made out of solid rock rose from the earth to block his stab. The golem knight intensely pushed the horse up and charged on foot towards Jason with just its lance and shield.
The horse landed perfectly on both its feet and rushed towards Jason from another angle its hooves glowing blue, as it charged towards him.
Jason leaped back and activated another skill
(6th form)
He blocked the knight's thrust with his sword. But the knight easily let go of the exchange of the lance and slammed down with its shield creating a multitude of cracks to appear underneath Jason.
The ground shook as if something underneath it was coming alive, and Jason could only just barely keep himself standing.
The horse dashed in its feet maintaining balance and slammed its hooves down sending a mad torrent of water towards him. The torrent of water only got bigger and bigger as it got closer to Jason, and soon Jason noticed that the horse was releasing some sort of sound from where the mouth should have been.
The torrent of water formed into shapes of horses charging at him. Soon the torrent of water grew until it became a huge wave that threatened to engulf Jason.
Jason tried to think of something, anything to get out. His mind landed on the only solution.
(Shunpo)
He willed his mind to activate the skill, his entire body reached out for the skill's effect. But nothing happened. Jason only had time to look at his mana
(0/3000 mana)
"@$#^%$"
Those were the words that Jason said as the torrent of water crashed into him furiously.
He struggled as hard as he could, but what effect does it have underwater? Jason felt like he was getting dragged to the bottom of the ocean.
He felt the water slam him into a cavern's walls with the force of what felt like a truck. His head struck the wall and he blacked out under Boops and the system's alarmed calls.
The water receded and seemed to slip down into the cracks of the floor that were caused by the battle, draining quickly as if there was a deeper level to the mine.
Jason was left with his back against the wall. He could hear Boops yelling out his name with an urgency he had never heard in his voice before and the system spamming him notifications that were too blurry for him to read.
But then he saw, what he could only describe as a descending of wings of light. The light that had been tucked away in the very back of the chamber, seemed to explode out in violent beautiful bursts.
Jason tried his best to squint his eyes and look closer, he saw a blond-haired boy holding something that shone as bright as the sun. His mouth was wide open but Jason couldn't hear anything except the ringing noise in his head. A huge pair of wings encompassed the item the blond-haired boy was holding as he charged towards the golem knight and horse.
Jason didn't know why, he could barely even recognize the blond-haired person, in fact, he was so out of it he could barely even remember where he was, but as he watched that blond-haired person run towards the two golems with what seemed to be a loud shout.
A burst of pride emerged from his chest.
His head leaned back naturally as he lost the power to keep his head steady and was instead forced to fight the overwhelming sense of exhaustion as he stared up into the ceiling.
And then he saw, it the light that emerged from the item that the blond-haired boy was holding had light up the surroundings like the sun on the earth.
Now Jason could look and see the illuminated ceiling.
Or at least what was left of it.
Huge webs were woven everywhere on the ceiling. From what seemed to be the windows to the small statues that were carved on the top. Everything was covered with huge webs.
Everything had fallen into those webs dirt, debris, the occasional monster, and many many skeletons.
If Jason were to look back at the golems under the shining light of the item. He would have been able to see strands connected from the places of the webs to the arms and legs of the golems. They were extremely thin but every move, every action was controlled.
In the very middle of the mass of webs at the top of the ceiling. There stood a large mass of black. It had 10 eyes, 8 of which were bleeding.
It let out an angry hiss and started to slowly crawl down. Each of its many legs slowly slithered out barbed with spikes that had claimed many lives, both innocent miners and adventures. Its last remaining eyes glaring at Jason with hate.
