Perseus grimaced as he looked at his empty hands. What could he do now? A huge golem knight and horse stood in the middle of him and his master.
What could he do? he was weaponless as he watched his master attempt to help him. But Perseus shook his head, there was no way his master could reach him without injuring himself.
He would rather die.
Boops arrived into Perseus's head
'you good Perseus?'
Perseus shook his head.
He watched in front of his eyes, as his master reopened his eyes with a bright red light and charging towards the golems with new resolve. His teeth grit and his eyes hardened as he charged towards the knight and horse.
And yet he wasn't at his side at the most crucial moment, he was just a bystander at that point just watching with no ability to help.
He watched as his master leaped into the air launching a metal skewer at the horse and knight. As they unveiled their berserk forms with bursts of colored energy flowing through their bodies.
Jason and the golems clashed until finally, Jason emerged from the tangled mess breaking a red eye as the red shriek emanated from the chamber.
But he watched in slight horror as the knight rose up from its fallen state and charged towards Jason with a burst of energy. The horse reared up and slammed down sending a torrent of water towards Jason.
Perseus grit his teeth and was about to run towards Jason in hopes that he could somehow save him, hopefully just at the cause of his life.
But Boops let out a warning
'wait Perseus, there might another solution you know'
Perseus stopped momentarily before pausing to listen to Boops. He didn't say anything but waited silently for Boops to continue as he eyed the fight in front of his eyes with an intense glare.
'the sword'
Perseus's mind churned and he turned to look at the bright glaring light. In the middle of it was the silhouette of a sword shining like it was a star shining in the endless expanse of darkness.
Perseus started to sprint towards it. His legs reached out in large leaps and bounds and his arms reached out at the one shining light in the dim and dark chamber.
He climbed up the small incline as he got closer to the sword, squinting his eyes, he looked closer at the sword.
A golden hilt engraved with numerous runes and engravings of numerous creatures and elements clashing in the middle of the hilt where a large ruby was embedded. The blade of the sword shone in bright white light as a dark metallic grey streak ran down it.
From the middle of the sword down, the blade had been placed on a pedestal. the pedestal seemed to full of holy clean bright-looking runes on one side. But creeping in from the bottom and top of it were other demonic-looking runes with rough etches and words that were written in what seemed to be blood.
Perseus reached out and grasped at the hilt of it. He felt a shock of pain charge into his hand.
But the light of the sword only grew larger and larger, shining and showing off its rays to the corners of the chamber.
[the sword tests you]
Perseus grit his teeth as another wave of pain overtook him. It felt like somebody was clamping his arm between two hydraulic presses. He let out a yell as he heard the snap of a bone and a bigger surge of pain.
[the sword seeks your resolve]
Perseus yelled out as another snap sounded from his hand, his knees felt like buckling, but his hand kept on holding onto the hilt of the sword. In fact, he didn't lose his grip on the sword, he only clenched it harder.
Doubts started to flood his mind as he felt the stress on his hand as the pain and pressure continued to assault him. He closed his eyes to attempt to stifle the pain as much as he could and he kneeled down his hand still holding desperately onto the sword.
Why was he doing this? why was he enduring so much pain? couldn't he just let go and rest for a bit?
Perseus opened his eyes, he ground his teeth, and punched the ground with his free hand leaving a large indent on the ground.
[the sword asks about your goals]
He could see it in front of him. His figure walking right in front of him running forward with his sword outstretched, running into forests, chasing after enemies he couldn't fight. Fighting monsters left and right blazing a trial for him and his guild members. He saw his figure, turning around with a huge smile, with a delicious plate of food in his hands. He saw his figure dashing through the woods with wolves by his side grinning as they released a howl at the night sky.
He saw that figure rush into battle his sword blazing a rose red. He saw that figure walk in front, his black hair lifting up in the wind as he looked off into the sun. His broad shoulders.
Perseus couldn't see the person's face, but he knew that he had a huge chaotic grin on his face.
His master. That was his goal, to not sit as a bystander as he fought the important battles. He wanted to stand shoulder to shoulder. He had given up protecting his master a long time ago. He was far too strong for that, the best Perseus could wish for, was to stand by his side to help fight his battles, and to be there whenever the weight on his shoulders seemed too heavy.
The image of his master burned in his eyes slowly walking in the distance. He wanted to reach out, but his hands felt so heavy as if somebody glued hundreds of pounds on his hands.
And then he remembered the taste of the eggs that Jason had cooked for him and his brother. The warm remarks and kind smiles offered to him.
Yes, yes that was it.
A grin passed onto Perseus's face. Really what was he doing? He stood up and gave the hilt of the sword a violent yank.
And the sword slid out like butter.
A burst of light exploded from the pedestal and the sword as Perseus raised it out of his sword. A bit of dark energy flew into the ruby and darkened a slight corner of it.

Sealed for many ages it has lost much of its power. But under the hands of a worthy swordsman, it will rise up again as one of the legendary lost swords]
Perseus let out a joyful laugh as he held the sword in his hands. A long sharp sword gleaming from its hilt with the ruby flashing red in the light that the sword gave out. The grey streak in the middle and the silver looking metal on the outsides glimmered.
He turned around to see Jason collapsed against the wall of the chamber with water slowly seeping into the cracks on the floor.
Perseus felt something boil inside him. He opened his mouth and let out a loud yell. Something he had never done in his life before.
(blessings of flames)
A huge pair of wings erupted from Perseus's back. Shining a pure white light Perseus charged towards the golem's furious as carried his sword with him.
The beams of light lit up the entire room as Perseus ran closer, reaching even the farthest corners of the chamber lighting up everything.
Perseus leapt up and swung out with his sword.
(slash of light)
A crescent of light flew out of Arondight and charged towards the horse and knight golem.
The knight raised up its shield as the slash of light drilled into its shield severing it in two.
Perseus leapt up with both hands on Arondight the wings behind him made him seem like he was soaring in the air.
Letting out a yell he slashed down. As the golem knight and horse raised their weapons and bodies up to fight back.
