Freedom

Perseus soared down, the white wings fluttering behind him in a glorious fashion as he stabbed with his sword straight into one of the red eyes of the golem.

Another terrible shriek resounded through the chambers. The wings of light seemed to embrace Perseus as he leaped down his sword stabbing down into the head of the golem right through where the eye socket was.

The golem horse which was a few meters away rose up and charged towards Perseus it lowered its head as streaks of water appeared behind the horse increasing its speed.

With a loud yell, Perseus freed his left hand from his death grip on Arondight and slammed it down on the skull of the horse next to him and the golem knight. The impact of his hands and the charge of the horse shook the chamber. He dug his fingers into the blue veins and crushed as hard as he could his index finger met one of the red gems, crushing it, another ear-piercing shriek came from the chambers above, with Perseus's right hand still on the sword he twisted it out with a frenzied pull. And he jumped back pusheding off with his legs leaving the ground underneath broken and cracked.

Perseus stood a few meters away glaring at the two golems as they both stumbled up to the ground both trying to recover from the loss of an eye.

Perseus held out Arondight as he stood straight. Simply watching the golems struggle to retain their balance.

The sword emitted a blinding white light, showering the surroundings until it was as illuminated as under the beams of the sun.

The wings of light behind Perseus opened up again to reveal the intricate white runes and feathers on them. Perseus gave a small smile, his eyes didn't smile with it though.

He launched towards the golems with murderous intent emitting from his entire body.

Never again would he watch from the sidelines. Instead, he would be there as a protector and a partner. He slashed down with a yell straight at the horse golem's head.

The sword Arondight sliced straight through the head of the horse golem cutting through the metallic scales that had troubled all of them for the last hour or so.

Perseus stood in front of the horse golem as it slowly stopped, sparks of blue light emerged from its body its movements turned mechanical and its head slowly fell apart to reveal an ocean blue orb severed in two in the middle of the horses head.

It gave off a small pulse and then its light slowly faded away. Along with the blue orb, the color on the blue veins of the horse slowly faded away in a normal grey lifeless sheen.

If one peered closer into the head of the golem they were able to see a strand of blood-red energy connecting the blue orb to the red eyes which glowed ever so menacingly in the darkness.

But now as the blue orb faded the last red-eye on the horse seemed to lose its power source and they too slowly became just simple red jewels.

Perseus tugged his sword Arondight out of the remains of the horse. He looked around in a slightly confused and bewildered face he looked down at the remains of the horse almost in utter shock.

He looked at the sword in his hands with newfound awe. But that was only for a few seconds before he lowered his sword and stance and checked his surroundings.

His eyes glanced throughout the room while Boops went back to Jason yelling out his name desperately in worry as he leaned against the wall sprawled out.

Perseus reassured himself as he looked around. There was only one more golem to face. Just one more and then everything would be fine.

The problem was, Perseus had no idea where the golem was. Boops could have helped him, but he was currently addressing the bigger problem of Jason being unable to fight. Perseus turned around constantly his sword illuminating where ever he faced. Yet for some reason, there was nothing only the cold grey walls.

Perseus slowly backed up, for some reason he had a sinking feeling in his stomach that only got stronger as time passed. He slowly walked to where his master was. If only Arjuna was here, surely he could figure out something with him.

Boops suddenly jumped into Perseus's head like a person being chased by a monster. Instead of the normal entry that Boops usually took, he bolted through the door to reach him.

'PERSEUS LOOK UP'

Perseus swung his sword up to the ceiling. The bright light pouring out of Arondight shone focused at the ceiling.

And there he saw the creature. Huge, about the size of a bus with drool, slowly dripping down its mouth. Its entire body was covered in a black shell and it had 8 legs each with spikes and filthy hair covering them.

It sat on a huge web that covered the entire ceiling hanging from it like a hammock.

And it wasn't alone on the huge web. Skeletons covered the web most of them wrapped out but if one looked closely in the illuminated light they could see the bones of a hand stretching out as its entire body got encased in its final prison. Short thick and shout skeletons along with human skeletons littered the monster's domain.

The creature crawled to the end of the web to stare down at Perseus.

Perseus shivered slightly at the sight of it. Its many red eyes all turned to look at him. Some of them were injured like they were bleeding. But there was one that seemed to have faded out.

It opened its mouth to reveal a huge set of mandibles and fangs that were the size of Perseus's sword.

It gave a loud hiss of hatred at the sight of Perseus and the cursed source of the light that had kept it at bay for so long.

It stretched out with one of its legs a long piece of web shot out to grab something on its leg tucked away in the corner of the web. The spider monster pulled it over and with a shriek hurled it over to Perseus.

Perseus dove away from the incoming projectile. Scrambling up to the ground he turned his head slightly to see what he was facing.

It was the knight golem. Webs covered its entire body, the once shining and proud amour and glowing grey and brown light had been almost entirely covered in the thick web of the spider monster.

It raised its broken lance and charged towards Perseus its red eyes gleaming. Perseus took a deep breath and held out his sword.

The wings of light shone behind him and the sword Arondight fit securely in his hands as the golem rushed towards him.

The golem got closer and closer, and when it got within 5 meters of Perseus, it suddenly dropped its lance and dove towards Perseus reaching out with both of its hands.

Almost immediately, a glow came from the knight golem's head. A mechanical hum came from its head as the entire golem's body seemed to start to heat up.

Boops let out a yell

'ITS THE SELF DESTRUCT,'

Perseus attempted to free himself but the golem's grip on Perseus was ironclad. He struggled to get out attempting to slice off the hand with his sword, but the golem had pinned down his wrists making him lose that ability to swing his sword.

With his teeth grit, Perseus gave one last look at his master Jason.

His eyes were slightly open, Perseus could tell from the slight glimmer in them that Jason was there. Perseus gave a nod to him and closed his eyes.

The golem's head started to heat up, its entire body seemed to glow molten red. It slowly let go of Perseus's arms. The humming sound got louder and louder until finally in an explosion that could send anyone nearby reeling from just the sound. It exploded.

Smoke, dust, and rubble erupted from the chambers, shaking it to its very core. The spider monster let out a gleeful shriek. Happy that the nuisance was finally gone.

Rocky looked up from his fetal position. Tears running down his face. Rocky had already forgotten that he was in a game and let out a sorrowful cry as the dust and smoke slowly settled.

But in the middle of the dust and smoke. A glimmer of light could be seen. The glimmer of light got stronger and stronger and finally when everything had settled.

Two wings of light could be seen covering a person inside who was supporting himself by stabbing into the ground with his sword.

The wings of light shattered in millions of smaller ones like glass breaking. Perseus stood up unharmed but shaken.
