Jason's eyes snapped open. His eyes regained focus as he looked around his surroundings. A notification faded away in his vision

With a light vault from his legs Jason landed on the ground standing. He looked for his sword. It lay next to him on the ground so he moved his leg out a bit to scoop it up into his hand.

He took a deep breath testing his muscles just to make sure something wasn't broken or missing. He saw Perseus standing in the middle of the chamber with a shiny new sword.

He stood in the middle slightly teetering as he walked towards Jason. He raised his sword to point to the ceiling.

A huge spider monster roared back at Perseus as its last attempt to get rid of him had failed.

It shot down two webs to the floor and dropped to the ground with a huge thud.

Its hard black exterior and hairy mouth with deadly fangs and drool hanging off it.

"danggg thats a beeg spooder" Jason yelled internally in his head.

The spider tensed its body up. Closing up its 8 limbs leaving deep trenching in where the spider dragged its legs together.

Jason ran over to Perseus who kept the swords light on the spider the entire time following its movements in a guarded stance.

He lightly tapped Perseus's shoulder making him flinch and also swing his sword around to cut the unknown person behind his back. But he stopped his swing the moment he turned his head.

His eyes widened with surprise and his jaw slowly opened.

"y-your fine?" he said in a confused voice

Jason snickered to himself "you of all people Perseus, shouldn't be telling me that, mr hole in stomach"

Perseus sighed in exasperation and turned his focus back to the huge spider that seemed to bunching itself up for something.

He muttered to Jason as the two of them looked over the monster.

"its been controlling the golems with those red eyes, or at least that's what i think happened."

Boops agreed with Perseus's thought.

Jason nodded in agreement while he chugged a few mana potions, that sight of the strings attacked to the golems was still burned in his mind.

He paused to catch his breath from the endless chugging of mana potions.

"so what's the plan? we just going to wait until it finishes doing whatever its doing?"

Perseus paused for a moment. He contemplated a lot of things in that moment, the meaning of life, how old he really was and also Jason's statement.

Without further ado he hauled up his sword and ran towards the spider monster that continued to bunch itself up.

Boops looked towards Boops internally, shrugged to him and chased after Perseus.

Boops sent information of the spider to both Jason and Perseus as a golden white streak of light and a blur of metallic metal dashed to the monster.

The spider raised its head up to see Perseus and Jason rushing towards it with their swords raised. It gave an angry hiss and leapt into the air spreading out all of its limbs in a quick springing motion. From its underbelly and abdomen, a tremendous amount of stick fluid and webs shot out.

It stretched out in a huge net that encompassed the entire chamber flying and falling straight towards Jason and Perseus.

Perseus jumped in fount of Jason let out a huge slash of light from his sword. The slash of light met a part of the sticky liquid and webs cutting through it easily leaving the severed ends of it scorched.

Jason internally let out a low whistle as he slowed down his pace to let Perseus continue to run in front.

The slash of light only cut open a hole in the huge web that the spider had cast, the rest of the untouched web landed on the entire chamber floor. Causing everything to become sticky and hard to maneuver in.

Perseus's foot landed into one of these sticky webs, the webs stretched out, and no matter how hard he pulled on his leg. It took a few regular hacks from his sword to finally free himself from them.

Meanwhile, the spider started to fire multiple projectiles of webs that left holes in the walls behind them.

Jason ran up behind Perseus being sure to dodge between the small holes on the web and the web projectiles. But that hindered his speed dramatically.

He was about to suggest splitting up but he suddenly remembered something. His eyes widened and he quickly reached into his inventory to pull out two bottles filled with a wispy green liquid that occasionally let out gusts of wind.

He popped the cork of one while he chucked the other to Perseus. Both making sure to duck and weave through the projectiles as they drank the speed potions.

Boops was laughing commentating on how the system points that they had spent to get the speed potions out of Arjuna's inventory and into his was extremely worth it at this time.

Almost simultaneously Perseus and Jason finished the speed potion, one letting out a burb and the other throwing the glass bottle to the floor shattering it in a brilliant crash.

They both dashed forward leaping through the complex maze of webs that were placed on the floor.

Not a single time did they step into the sticky webs.

And every time the spider monster launched a flurry of webs and projectiles at them, they were easily dodged and avoided with a few ducks, weaves, and bobs.

Jason and Perseus only got closer and closer to the spider monster as it struggled to shot them down.

Unfortunately, the spider had a very bad type advantage. It was like a slow-moving tank, that could only shoot out shoots every now and then. Sure it had powerful shots, but what would happen if those shots could be avoided or dodged?

Enter stage right, Perseus and Jason people who have invested into the agility stat for most of their points except for charm of course.

Essentially, the spider was screwed the moment it set foot on the ground.

Perseus leaped up into the air, green wisps of energy trailing off his body. He spun around with his sword and unleashed a slash of darkness that flew straight swords the spider's body.

A loud crash like metal crashing into itself rang through the chamber.

Jason ran underneath Perseus as he jumped up to unleash his slash of darkness. A loud shriek filled the room as it made contact and Perseus saw the spider monster stumble for a bit.

He turned to look at Jason who was sprinting through the chamber his feet jumping through the small holes on the coating of webs that covered the floor.

He leaped and twisted through a multishot of webs being careful to not instinctively cut one down with his sword. He knew that, if he did he would not be in for a good time.

As he got closer to the spider monster the barrage of spider webs got faster and faster sometimes Jason needed to fully bend his body into a 90-degree bow sometimes and even gave himself a moment of reprieve by doing a small wall climb.

Jason leapt through the web of attacks. He was feeling elated as he got closer and closer, this wasn't like any of the golems which felt like they were specially made to screw him over.

Now it was just an almost stationary target.

He got within eye contact with the monster. It stared at him with its red eyes which looked very familiar in his fights with golems. A few of them were already broken or shattered, but a few still glared at Jason with as much hatred as it could muster.

It raised its arms up stabbing at Jason with them. It spit out a green liquid that landed on the floor and corroded it instantly.

Jason backflipped to avoid the stabs of the spider and then dropped his left shoulder twisting his entire body to the left as the spider's spit flew right past him.

Jason leapt into the air, green whips of energy floating off him. He moved his sword in an underhand hold the point of the blade pointed right at the head of the spider.

(1st form) (piercing strike) (poison blade)

His sword simultaneously glowed a rose red, a dark blue and a grimy green. The limbs of the spider all reached out towards Jason intending to stab him as he fell down to the spider's back.

A slash of light flew in and swept the spider's limbs away.

Perseus stood a bit away smiling as he held his new sword Arondight over his shoulder.

Jason let out a small laugh as he fell towards the spider monster. With a loud crunch he landed on the head his sword stabbing into its forehead.

The monster stopped moving right as it had opened its mouth to attempt to eat Jason alive.

Jason grit his teeth and pushed his sword forward and then back into the skull making sure that he dealt as much damage as possible.

the spider gave one last ear-destroying shriek and collapsed.
