Wizards

[on the mysterious wizards who roam the forests of Herdita]

Party Bravo of the investigation team was looking for signs of bandit activity in the vicinity of the tall cat guilds base when they came across the dead bodies of the merchants. Party Bravo investigated the cause of death and determined that it was most likely by bandits, based on the numerous slash and sword wounds on the body.

All valuable items were looted and taken. All but one item remained, a broken staff clutched in the merchant's hands.

Party Bravo noticed that the staff was glowing with a peculiar light and took it back for investigation. The source of the glow was discovered to be a token embedded deep within the broken staff. The token was crafted from a light green crystal, which is thought to be a wind elemental crystal. To the left are images of the token.

The token had small runes that were barely visible to the naked eye.

One of our mages, Jones, discovered that it was rune language; however, none of our mages were able to understand or read the language.

As a result, the guild was forced to pay a rune decipherer 5 gold to decipher the runes.

Fortunately, the guild still has enough coins to become a full-fledged guild.

The rune decipherer was asked to write down the words

the following are the directly translated words from the token

[The wizards of Herdita's forest send greetings to the Merchant country's wizard tower.

We request assistance from the wizard tower and request that the council assemble a force to exterminate the plague of bandits and monsters that has proliferated in the forest.]

The following token was deemed important and was sent to the wizard tower in the city. The guild was rewarded with 10 gold coins and mana potions.

Jason looked up from the document and at Uncle Roger who was quietly sipping his tea.

"so" he said putting the cup down "what did you think?"

Jason placed the document down.

"it's abstract but valuable"

Uncle Roger nodded agreeing

"yes it is, but I believe it alerts you of a few different things"

Jason nodded

"yeah, the group of wizards, the multiplying monsters and bandits, we knew about the bandits and monsters, but not the wizards so I guess that it's valuable."

Uncle Roger nodded again and then turned to Luna

"as for the second agreement, Luna please keep in contact with Jason so that we can arrange it whenever possible."

Luna nodded, happy that she finally had an excuse to get Jason to communicate with her. But Jason shook his head

"no, that's not needed, I already know what I want"

Uncle Roger turned to Jason

"oh? please tell us Mister Jason"

Jason smiled

"We need a building, a large building that can hold large groups of people, hopefully with multiple floors and with suitable living conditions. But the important part is the facility, it needs to be able to fit more than 500 people at least."

Uncle Roger nodded his head.

"If I may be so upfront, what is the reason why you want this facility?"

Jason grinned

"the silver wings guild needs a headquarters in the real world, right?"

Uncle Roger widened his eyes.

"ah, I see," he said slowly lowering his eyes as he thought for a few moments.

"Alright," he said, "we the Roop family will fund the creation of a new building and will fully sponsor the costs which include the interior and the various capsules that will be needed, but in return, you Jason Archer will owe us the Roop family as an individual and will come to our aid when needed"

Jason grinned

"its a deal"

Boops warned Jason quietly

'you know they are only doing this to get on your good side right? and they are mostly going to do this so that it's easier to recruit you'

Jason nodded and responded to Boops in his head

"Yeah I know, but I'm going to milk as much as I can from them"

Finally, after Jason and Uncle Roger discussed the entirety of the building and the contracts and other legal things that should be dealt with. Jason departed with Luna taking him back in the same limo they rode in with.

Uncle Roger sat at the meeting room an hour later going through the large stack of files and documents of intelligence. A deep voice came from behind him.

"It wasn't your place to approve of the boy's request, it will cost the family a large sum."

Uncle Roger stopped reading and placed the document on the table

"brother," he said

"it was not my place, but it was my duty, that boy, no that man has done the impossible, he has conquered the first dungeon, but along with that, he also created the first acknowledged guild. The only reason why we did not create our guild yet, is because we were afraid of the unwanted attention along with the fangs of the Hallewell family which would quickly attack us. If he truly does not have the backing of a rival family or mega-corporation then he must have some unknown means to gather that large of a fortune and he must have an even bigger one if he is willing to spend it all. Along with the ability to conquer a dungeon"

"brother" Uncle Roger finished

"This Jason might be able to bring our family out of our stagnant position once and for all, but we must first show that we are trustworthy and with good intentions so that when he grows perhaps to a height we cannot reach, we can still be in his good graces. We cannot recruit him, not while we are in this disadvantageous position of both information and power. "

The person behind Uncle Roger paused for a few moments as if thinking. Uncle Roger continued looking forward his fists clenched with sweat pouring down his forehead.

Finally, the voice spoke again.

"you are the general manager of the tall cats guild and the head of the intelligence department of the Roop family. Do not interfere with what the family decides, we must choose what is best for the family"

The person behind Uncle Roger slowly left the meeting room.

Uncle Roger let out a loud sigh when he heard the door close.

"WOW is our only chance brother" he muttered to himself.

******************************************************************************************

Jason looked straight forward not daring to look any other way as he rode in the limo back to his place.

Luna stared at him with her eyes narrows and her arms crossed as she continued to give him an angry glare.

Jason couldn't say anything as just simple watched the large plains and orchards roll past them in a speedy fashion.

Those few hours on the car ride back felt like literal years, but soon they reached the city, and then past the river, the school and finally Jason could see the apartment in his view.

The Limo stopped in front, but a hand-pulled on his arm and forced him to stop. Jason turned around to see Luna holding out a brand new phone.

"here," she said pressing it into his hand "my phone number is already on there," she pulled Jason even closer whispering to him softly

"you know what happens if you don't respond to me right?"

Jason could only nod. Not wanting to explode the ticking time bomb that was the being called Luna. Jason exited the car carefully.

He watched the Limo drive off and when he saw it completely disappear from eyeshot. Both Jason and Boops let out a huge sigh.

"oh God that was scary"

'oh God I can't believe you didn't screw anything up'

Boops replied

Jason completely exhausted groggily walked up the stairs. Each step felt like it was a huge mountain to climb over.

He slowly opened the door, ready to run over to the couch and just collapse on it and sleep for a hours.

But when he opened the door, he saw Najimi and Perseus ducking and running for cover as Arjuna chased after them with a dart gun in his hand. If Boops remembered correctly the brand was called Merf.

Najimi and Perseus were yelling out distraught words as they kept on dodging and weaving while Arjuna let out a virtual rain of darts on them only stopping to reload.

Everyone in the apartment had a smile on their faces as they stampeded through the apartment having fun. Except for Jason of course. He walked over to the couch not caring about the stray darts that hit him as he walked over.

And as he reached a few feet away from the couch, he simply let gravity take control and let the cushions of the couch catch him in a satisfying hug of comfort.

Chaos reigned as Perseus and Najimi attempted to start a counter-attack, while Arjuna nailed both of them simultaneously on the head and Jason slept soundly with not a single care in the world.
