Food

Perseus usually hated procrastinating or getting sidetracked. He just felt like he didn't have enough time to waste chasing after whatever caught his interest. But the kids behind him... the way they looked at him as they a delicious smelling stall selling a type of dessert had he never seen before. It was just.... haaaa

So there Perseus stood waiting for the young guild members to finish their dessert. From what Perseus could see, the desert that they were eating consisted of a dark chocolatey small cake with a stretchy light green matcha filling. A fresh red strawberry, a fruit that Perseus had only seen in reality and not in WOW topped it.

The young guild members ate it with relish, licking their lips and fingers trying to make sure that ate every single crumb.

While Perseus waited he raised up the necklace that he had gotten from a mysterious vendor. It was a simple pendant with a grey metal chain and a single white sword hanging off of it. It looked so simple as Perseus held it in the mid-day sunlight. But something about it felt strikingly similar.

And as he held it closer to his sword Arondight. It kept on vibrating and pulling like two magnets next to each other.

Perseus held it up and quickly analyzed it

[pendant of blades]

[rank: heroic]

[effects: grants skill (blade aura), (affinity with swords +10)]

[+15 strength, +10 agility]

The rest of the pendants that Perseus had acquired were a rank lower than the (pendant of blades) they provided affinity with an element and a stat bonus. Overall, it was a steal. Just 2 gold for some good gear? Perseus would have done that again any day. Perseus with a satisfied expression put the rest of the pendants away in his inventory while equipping the pendant putting it on his neck like a necklace. A notification came up the moment Perseus placed it over his neck.

[a synergy has occurred between (Arondight) and the (pendant of blades)]

[the skill (sword aura) has been upgraded]

[+5 stamina]

[+3 affinity with swords]

A smile passed Perseus's face as he looked at the notifications. He called out to the group of guild members around the transport wagon.

"alright kids finish up and let's move"

The young guild members promptly jumped up and jogged over climbing up into the wagon.

Perseus turned around to make sure nobody was missing and flicked the reigns. They had already passed through most of the market and were just about to reach the merchant district. Perseus could already see rich and expensive-looking wagons driving down the roads in front of him and the gold gilded buildings that rose far above the rest of them.

The guild members sat back sitting in the bliss of the dessert. One of them had saved his desert to enjoy later, and as he raised it up with a happy grin. The rest stared him down with envious eyes. Some attempted to barter with him and soon it turned into a serious debate with some of the kids offering their salads and even portions of their meal.

Of course, if it were Jason making the food then it would be a different thing.

Perseus quickly pulled the wagon up to the merchant guild which stood right in the middle of the main street. It was the tallest building with huge white pillars and gold signs inscribed with the image of gold coins.

Perseus pushed open the doors and leisurely walked in. The receptionist at the counter, a blond-haired lady lowered her head slightly in greeting.

"ah Mr. Perseus it's a pleasure to see you again, are you here to deposit money again?"

Perseus shook his head. Though the Merchant guild functioned as a bank. He had stored a bit of the money he had made into it.

"no Miss Kalise I'm here to sign up as a merchant?"

The receptionist nodded and handed over a sheet of paper.

"please fill this in and return it to me with a payment of 2 silver"

Perseus nodded and walked over to one of the blue benches to fill in the paperwork.

The paper didn't ask for much. Just some general information about Perseus like his name and stuff. The only part where Perseus had to put in a bit of thought was about what he was going to focus on as a merchant. He had a lot of lucrative ideas, but he wasn't able to put a name on all of them.

For now, he just listed himself as a potion seller since he was already starting to get potions from Arjuna as he started to churn them out to level up his dawn alchemist skill. In the Nightfall empire, potions were much cheaper than in Herdita. Most likely because of the dawn Alchemists and their great influence on the nation making them specialized in creating potions. Making the price lower.

Here in Herdita, alchemists were more of a rare job, people would rather be part of the navy or an adventurer. But with the large amounts of monsters in the vicinity, potions were in high demand. And that was where Persues would come in. He was already making good money from Jack and his endeavors. But that was mostly from NPCs. Perseus knew that players would start their rise and get even more important in WOW. He wanted to create a foothold in the market first.

Perseus really wished that Boops could be there to help him as he was about to start selling potions. But Boops was extremely busy. The calculation subsystem that Jason had gotten him made him more efficient but along with his number one priority helping Jason, he also was busy receiving and compiling information so that they would be ready to launch the information hub that Perseus was preparing for.

In short, Boops was getting kinda overworked. But then again all of them were kinda overworked. Jason was busy trying to find new people to recruit, along with being the flagship for both Perseus and Arjuna. He was busy exploring the forest around the guild house. The bandits that were nested in them were going to be a problem if left alone.

Arjuna was trying to get the Nightfall Archer class and was now taking care of some noble family's heir and Perseus was trying to take care of an entire guild of people while being given the responsibility of finding sources of money.

With a sigh, Perseus stood up and walked over to the receptionist again handing her the filled-out form.

The receptionist looked over it for a few seconds. Her blue eyes quickly scanning through each line. Finally, she took a stamp and pressed it onto the corner of the paper. She handed it back to Perseus along with a few more papers.

"All alright here are your documents, they are proof of your identity and are your permit as a merchant."

As Perseus reached out his hand to take back the paper. She grabbed it and pulled him closer

"be careful when you sell potions" she whispered softly

"the Dreedgill noble family has been trying to monopolize the potion market here in Herdita. They will attempt to crush any small merchant trying to sell any"

Perseus let out a laugh and thanked the receptionist for her information walking away.

[you have registered as a merchant]

[you can now set up shops and stalls]

[merchant quests have become avialable]

A notification went up as Perseus was leaving the guild

[more than 100,000 players have arrived in the territory of Herdita]

[the auction house will be opened]

A glint appeared in Perseus's eye. He was already aware of the existence of the auction houses, and how they would appear once a certain number of players had arrived in the territory. But he was still taken off guard on how soon it was. Only capital cities in the empires and kingdoms had reached that point.

Perseus looked outside to see large groups of people. Now he could see that more than a quarter of them had names floating above them. Players started to understand how WOW worked and they moved around busy each with their own quests and tasks to complete. Most had beginner-level amour, but a few had rare-looking amour and unique weapons.

Perseus couldn't help but pause for a moment and look at the main street with many carriages and people bustling about.

The bright sun shone down on him as he stood on the steps looking at the tall buildings the ocean that sparkled in the background and the ships on it. The sea breeze slowly intensified making Perseus's blond hair rise up in the wind as his blue eyes gazed out.

The excited yell of "guild master!" caught Perseus's attention. One of the young guild members had spotted him and they all waved to him as they waited at the guild wagon. They all had excited expressions as they saw their literal savior in frount of them.

Perseus let out a smile at the kid's overjoyed expressions. He walked down the stairs of the merchant guild and with a light jump landed in the driver's seat of the wagon.

He turned back

"Alright kids, lets go fishing"

and in the midst of the loud cheers of the guild members. Perseus drove off a smile on his face.
