Rosie is now lying on her bed, it has been 1 week since both of her parents passed away. Their funeral has been kept private and short, only for 3 days and only those who have closed relationship with the family were allowed to visit and mourn for them.
From all that happened in the hospital until now, Rosie still can't accept and face the reality. After her parents funeral, she's been locking and confining herself in her room. She didn't even eat properly nor talk to anyone, their butler and housekeeper were very worried about her condition but they can't do anything for her nor help her. Sometimes Rosie will went down to drink water every night when no one is around but after that she will went back to her room and lock herself up.
The words that the doctor told her back when she was still in the hospital still linger in Rosie's mind. "Your condition is getting better, you just have to take a week of rest then you can go back to your normal self. The injury you got in the car crash is not very severe maybe that's because your mother had cover herself for you before your car had flipped over."
Those words repeated over and over, there's a part of her that blamed herself for what happened to her mother so she's refusing to eat and wanted to torture herself but there's also a part of her that tells her to continue living. Since her mother sacrificed herself and chose to protect her at that time of life and death she shouldn't be confining herself now but instead continue living, living a good life. That way she can repay and give justice to her mother's life and sacrificed. She clearly know it herself, that her parents wouldn't want to her to be like this and they wouldn't be happy and able to rest in peace if she continue living like this but what can she do? She doesn't know how to continue living after what happened to her family. How can she still be happy and how can she afford to smile again.
"Mom, Dad what should I do? What can I do now without you?" Rosie continue sobbing her voice was already hoarse from crying nonstop. "Didn't you promise me that we will go back again and have a vacation in my next school break, mom you promise to sing me a lullaby but why did you broke your promises and left me all alone. I should have just die with both of you, at least in that way we can be able to stay together as a family. If... if only I knew that it would be the last time I should listen to you sing more songs for me, I should have requested every song I like. If only I knew that all of this will happen I should have requested to stay for one more day."
Rosie was still crying while holding their family picture when she suddenly heard someone knock on her door. Rosie doesn't have the intention to let anyone go inside her bedroom so she locked it and didn't answer to anyone who knocks on her door.
"Rosie it's me Jackson, I know you don't want to see other people now but I need to talk to you" Jackson said before he enters her room.
"Well I asked your butler for the spare key of your room." Jackson explained as soon as he entered her room.
Rosie just stares back at him without saying anything. Fatigue can be clearly seen in her face, just one look and anyone will know that she didn't take care of herself theses past few days.
Jackson sit at the chair beside Rosie's bed, he look at her for a while, worries can be traced in his eyes. After a while he decided to speak.
"Rosie I know that no matter what I'll say no words can comfort you right now. And no matter what we do we can't ease the pain you're feeling. You're the only one who can help yourself recover and get better. But please allow us to take care of you, since you're in no shape to take care of yourself. Everyday your best friend Lienne always visit you, hoping that you will soon open your door and accept the help of others. I want you to remember that we're always here for you, no matter what happen we will always help you and you can always lean on us. I know that we can never replace your parents and we can never be the same is them and treat you the way they did before but we will never leave. We will always stay by your side. Just think about what your parents will think if they saw you like this, they will not be able to rest in peace and they don't like what you're doing to yourself now. I know that they want what's best for you and they want you live for a long time that's why they decide to save you, until that very last moment they still choose to protect you. I hope you will soon realized that and you don't let all their efforts be in vain."
Rosie on the other hand doesn't said anything instead she just turned her back to Jackson and cover herself with blanket.
After a short while Jackson patted her shoulder and bid his farewell.
"I'll have to go now Rosie but I will be back again. I will visit you everyday until you're ready to open up for us."
After Jackson left, Rosie let out the tears that she has been holding back.
'I know, I really know it myself that what they have been telling me is the truth, that my parents want to me to continue living but... but it is really hard to move on. I don't know where to start and what I need to do. I just really don't know how to continue living. All I want now is just to sleep, sleep until I can forget everything. I want to sleep in hopes that I will be able to see them again even if it only be in my dreams and sleep hoping that after I woke up, all that what happened in the past will be only just a dream, our vacation and car accident. Maybe if we didn't go and have our vacation, none of it will going to happen and my parents won't be gone forever. I will be satisfied even if we didn't have our vacation as long as my parents will still be alive, I don't mind even if I need to stay at home forever. Please please let it be just a dream. I wish when I wake up tomorrow everything will be fine and be back to normal. Please bring my parents back.' Rosie keep repeating these words to herself. She keeps on pleading until her body can't take it anymore and she falls asleep from fatigue
