Cleaning 02 - First Action

When I return on my consciousness, I found myself in jungle at night time. The jungle here are not that dense. I wake up and try to move, but stopped by something.

"No..." I rather not doing it earlier. If I encounter the beasts or wild animals right after I cancelled this barrier shield, it's game over for me. So, let's look at the ability given to me by those assh@le.

"Catalogue!" Suddenly, in front of my eyes appear a browser screen, that mention by that old man. There are plenty choices to be pick, from the small thing like food until the biggest thing like building. I don't need to click or type any key words in order to pick the item, but using mind commands.

"Military Assets sections, infantry fighting vehicle." At first, I wanted to buy a tank, but the price is too expensive. The infantry fighting vehicle or IFV is more cheaper.

My mind set to pick ARES. The Ares is essentially an APC variant of the ASCOD 2 IFV that replace the FV103 Spartan in service with the British Army. The actual price is 10,000 HC, but I picked the Autocracy ideology, which give me 50% discount for the IFV, plus another 50% discount for the first buy. The purchase of IFV free with crew of 3, including commander, driver and gunner, plus 7 fully-equipped specialists. This armored vehicle is also fitted with electronic counter measure system, laser warning system, local situational awareness system and some other systems. It looks that the Ares is one of the most protected armored personnel carriers.

By doing that transaction, my HC balance down to 7500. It's seem that building a base is free, but the base itself not too safe. If you pick the free base, the building that will appear is a medium size mansion, with designed like the middle ranked noble house in medieval era.

"Sir, reporting for duty!" The commander salute me. I reply the salute back.

"Let's sort out! I want to find the human settlement as soon as possible!"

"Yes, sir!" I moved out immediately, ignoring the remaining time for shield protection. I check out the IFV conditions in catalogue again, and it's turn out that this vehicle doesn't need fuel to move and never out of ammo. That is the great news. But the bad news is the ten crews that I summon by purchasing something only valid for five years. After that, they will disappear. Well, the IFV that I bought will permanently available, so before they gone, i need to train my future army recruits to pilot and handle this little monster.

"Sir, all device are useless to accomplish your order sir. We need to do the manual way." Said the commander.

"Have your way, but first, lets find any main road or river near by."

"Yes, sir!"

We keep on moving for 4 hours before stop to rest. All the unit except me take turn sleep for 4 hours period before we moving out again. I really wanted to establish my base as fast as I could so I can start harvesting the HC. I would like to live more comfortable in the future.

Before I forget to mention, I bought 1000 military food ration for 100 HC. The price for 10 ration is 1 HC, but buying 1000 will give you free cooking equipment and tableware. The best thing is any purchasing product can be keep in special storage, excluding the crews. So, I don't need to worry about the 1000 ration packs taking spaces at the IFV. The squads and I ate the ration will pleasure and the taste of the food is quite good.

After the day turn bright in the middle of our travel, finally we found main road, of course without tar and primitive one. It's seem that those route has been used by human activities. I can see there are some trace of wheel and horse foot step tracks on it..

"Sir, should we move forward to the North or South side of the road?" One of the crews, a sergeant ranked soldier ask me about our next plan. I look out at surrounding first and search for the location of highland. I wanted to build my base on the mountain side, near the water source. After a few minutes of silence, I gave the order to the sergeant.

"Let's go to North side...."

"Yes, sir!" The sergeant give me the salute before started to prepare for our next travel.

Along the way, we encounter some beast like lion and tiger but in bigger size and hideous physical, but all of it become victim of this IFV weapon, armed with a 12.7 mm machine gun. We didn't stop our vehicle and keep move forward even faced those monsters.

Finally, after 3 hours of traveling, we spotted the human settlement on our sight. The weird is there are lot of smoke that coming from that village.

"Sir, the village is under attack!" Said one of the private, who using the binocular to peek on the villager. I don't know this is a chance or not, but as a good human, I should help them.

"Prepare for the intercept," I decide to help them.

"Sir, yes sir!"

We came closer to the village carefully but hasten our movement. We see the group of man, a bandit look like attacking and looting the village without mercy.

My name is Sue, a miko (shrine maiden) in this village. The village were establish by my great grandfather and gather the believer here. The residences quite fanatic and radical in the teaching of my great grandfather. They even not afraid to became a crusader and died with the name of my great grandfather.

Most of people here is the victim of the evil clans. They become fugitive and asked for sanctuary in my great grandfather village called Savior. The population here not as many as the great clan, but the size of of human here reaches about 200 peoples.

The food here quite severe, so we always fast to save our supply. Most food source some from hunting and gathering, so we depends on our special squads to provide us the meals.

One day, one of the evil clan, Adzam Family demand us to make me as the tribute to them. As a miko, my position here is quite high and also a direct descendant of their holy Father. The war finally started and take few days before our defense crumble.

"Hahaha... None of your stupid God help you all!" Said the leader and one of the young master of Azdam clan, mocking us with sarcasm voice.

"I beseech you not kill our people anymore...." I said to him, pledge him for mercy.

"Nope. you only have one chance! Hey you, bring out that boy!" The young master orderd his lackeys to do what we wanted. Two of them dragged one of our follower and bring him to their young master.

"Upin, noooo....!" His twin brother try to save him but been knock out by one of the lackeys.

"Hahaha... Good...." He shelter out his sword with evil smile. "This is what you get if you don't obey us!"

"Don't do it!" I scream. In my heart, I pray for God Mercy.

"Die! hahahaha!" With evil, he swings his shard sword, aiming to the boy throat.

"Bang!!!!" Suddenly, a loud sound of thunder, stopped that guy move.

Our movement stopped with few of the bandits standing in our way.

"Halt! I don't know what are people from, but stay out from this place. We, the Azdam clan are conquering this place now!" The leader of the group spoke out his massage with arrogant way, so I become irritated.

"Finish them! Quietly...." With that word, all of the bandit died. My squad fire the gun with silencer, to avoid the reinforcement come before we prepare.

"Save the villagers!" I give the gesture and 7 specialist units went out and snuggle to the village. The rest of us, move the IFV to enemy camp and started the massacre, finishing the enemy with this monster. I can't see any archer or magician there, so our attack went smoothly. I capture some of them and asked their leader. The leader in the village, threaten the people, said the pathetic lackeys.

When I arrived to the village, all of the bandits and the leader are taken down by my soldiers. My arrival make those villager acting weird and making gesture, like praying to the God. What the hell? The leader of that villager, a young girl also doing the same, kneeling to me when we first met.

"Don't kneel anymore, young girl. I been told that you are the leader of this village, aren't you?"

"My name is Sue of the Savior Village. I am the great grandchild of the founder and the miko of the God. It's is our honor to meet you, in our most humble village. Please bless us with your grace, my Lord...."

"What do you mean by that?" I become puzzle by her word.

"You are the one who bring miracle and save us, my Lord, our God...." She kneeling again and make me wanted to puke blood.

"What? No, no... I did help you, but I'm not your God or something like that. I wanted to know the situation that you having now...."

"By you will, my Lord."

After listening to the miko explanation, I can draw some conclusion from the story.

1. This world really doesn't have any nation or kingdom. The human society here rule by clan. Their way of ruling is the same way like the mafia, triad or yakuza in my old world. The law or rule are on the head family hand, with the weak become food for the strong. Like a jungle law, "survival of the fittest."

2. The monetary systems here are not exist. They using barter systems to trade. They even included the human trafficking in barter systems, selling their own child for foods or necessities.

3. The technologies here were far worse then the medieval era in the Earth. The buildings here using woods entirely, without any nails or stone supports. The steel and metal already been develop, but sadly not that much. The agriculture systems also worst, and they never attempt to involve in farming and animal husbandry to resolve their food problems.

I asked Sue the miko about the place that I decide to establish my base, and she told answer my question by telling about the Goblin nest. Surprisingly, the Goblin here are not hostile or attacking people like the beast, but act like normal people. In this world, there are two categorize dwellers in the world, the coherent side and the mindless side.

The coherent side is the dwellers with rational mind, living in the peace and sometime interact with another species. There are four kind of this category; human like me and Sue, demi-human, like Elf and Dwarf, demi-beast like Goblin, Orc, and Lamia, and the Inhuman like Vampire, Demon, Angel and Fairy. There are other species, but those will be introduce in further story.

The mindless side are dangerous and will attack others without any reason. They will show the hostile intents and kill their enemies without mercy. This category has 3 type, the beast, like I encounter in my way to the village, ghost type, like skeleton and wraith, and devil kin like the fallen. Some of the beast are tamed by specialist and become their ride or helpers in the hunt.

There also the normal animals, but most of it were living in the place that become the domain of supreme beast that act like the guardian of the locations. No wonder it's hard to hunt the animal for food, as the hunter secretly entered the place to avoid the wrath of the supreme beast.

I asked the miko as the representative of the village if they wanted to live under my wing, she without any hesitate, agreed to my invitation. She even implore me to let all of her followers to join me for my ambitions as my slaves. I decline the slave thing, still I wanted them to pledge loyalty to me.

After few hours of discussing and planning, we begun our preparation to move on the place that I aim to establish my base. We divide into two group, the first will depart earlier to the place with IFV, and the second group will travel by horse carriage, guarded by three soldier. Thanks to the bandits, I mean Adzam family attack, they give us the horses and carriage to help us migrate.

We didn't move immediately but having a rest at the night. It's too late to move out as the sun already gone after we finished our meeting.

There are about 97 people on the list excluding me, Sue and the soldiers. I provide them food, as to release them from starving. We need so much energy for the relocation, alas the foods are must. Well, the food came the rations that I bought earlier.

We move at earliest morning, before the day turn bright. The first group, me as the leader, travel faster with IFV. Well, the speed decreased as the IFV attached with two carriage like train. This group include the child, women and old person, as their are helpless and weak.

The travel are not too much time consuming and we arrived at the cave near the waterfall, the ideal place for me after about two hours of nonstop journey.
