And there it was—what she had tried to not let anybody know was finally revealed. She didn't know what to expect, or maybe she had and that was why she hid it in the first place. 

"What?" Han Jing was the first one to speak up and his gaze immediately turned to Chan Lee, "Why didn't you tell me, are you okay? Wait, that's a stupid question." The man didn't seem to have the heart and will to attack or point fingers at her or his concern for Chan Lee trumped his own sense of justice.

Ning Bi had expected and waited for an outburst of anger and outrage. She already confessed what she had done and what else could have they done? She waited for them to look at her in disgust or even feel a slap on the face and for the other girl to take the opportunity to gain more sympathy.

But there was none.

"It's just a bruise." The young woman spoke up quietly and looked away from her concerned friend.

Instead they simply decided to pretend as if things were fine.
