Devil's Civil War - Realm of the Dead

If anyone could notice Damon could be seen walking in a desolated landscape. Nothing grew as far as the eye could see, there were no signs of life anywhere you looked. If it wasn't for the spirits walking around the wouldn't be anything at all to see for kilometers.

This was the Asphodel Meadows, a part of the Realm of Hades at the Underworld, where ordinary souls were sent to live after their death. The reason for no one seeing him was Authority - Concealment. He was concealing his existence and how can you notice something that doesn't exist?

If you had died and got in the realm of the dead normally, you would be ferried by Charon across the river Stix. At some point at the end or the start point it of the river, depending on your perspective, the would-be a ravine, the entrance of Tartarus. It was no only the birthplace of greek monsters but the manifestation of a primordial.

'Thank all deities he is asleep. I don't want to deal with Tartarus! Now that I think about, is Thanatos in this universe a grim reaper, a god, or both? And how exactly does the son of two primordials ends up a minor god in the Greek pantheon!?'

After a while, Damon saw them. Beings wearing black robes, ones darker than others, silently moving and disappearing in shadows, Grim Reapers.

Damon stopped, not a muscle moving. He could feel it, if he tried to any further he would be notified. His Authority wouldn't work past the bounded files that surrounded the place.

Since he couldn't move past this place, Damon would go look around and see if he can find some important people.

Damon first tried to enter Elysium, the afterlife for heroes and good people however the location was guarded with the same bounded field as before. That got him thinking why doesn't the Asphodel Meadows have one but Damon couldn't conclude.

He didn't feel discouraged because of this, after all there were other ways to talk to the dead but since he was already here he might as well try it. So he walked back, this time going to the shores of the river Styx. At first, he just wanted to see if that person would be here however now Damon contemplated if he should the Curse of Achilles.

"I wouldn't do it if I were you..."

His thoughts were interrupted by a voice behind him. Damon didn't even try to contemplate how the green-haired, tall, and lean demigod was able to notice him. No, he knew it was because of the connection between the man and the river, so the moment he thought about taking the nurse the demigod must have felt.

"Achilles."

One of the most prominent heroes from greek mythology.

"That's me," answered Achilles. "And as I said, I wouldn't recommend a bath in this river's water."

"May I ask why?"

"If you can survive the process, your body will be invulnerable, nothing will be able to wound you," Achilles told the mortal man. "Besides the one weak point in your body, you would be unkillable. However, to bear this curse, for it is not a blessing, means your destiny will be filled with adventure and tragedy. If you feel you are able to shoulder this burden, go ahead. Think of the most important thing you have in your life to anchor you to your body and don't forget. For if you do, I will welcome to the lands of the dead."

Damon didn't have to think too long.

While true he was tempted to do it, he felt this was a decision he should make with Jeanne. Another reason was that, just like Achilles said, nothing came without a price. If he was alone with no one to worry about, he might have done it however he now had people he cared about and their future with him was already dangerous enough without tempting fate.

"Thank you for the warning," said Damon. "I will not be jumping on the river. Truthfully the reason I came here was that I thought I would be able to speak with you."

"Who might you be then?"

"My name is Damon Morders and I would like to know how would you feel about having a second chance in life?"
