Chapter 11

I enter the modeling agency with a

buzzing feeling that vibrates through my

body.

"Hi Ashley, thanks for coming today, we

really appreciate it." Says the registration lady from my last visit.

"Oh hi, am I ready to go in?" I ask.

"Yes, Charlotte will introduce you to some makeup artists and your photographer." The lady informs me.

I nod at her and walk beyond her to the left side.

I enter the meeting room I was in from last week and notice that its not Charlotte alone this time.

There are a few people in there that are hustling around the room.

I can't see Charlotte anywhere since she is hidden from my sight with so many people surrounding her.

I awkwardly stand in the doorway, my mind couldn't settle on the fact that either I should go in or just stand there like a lunatic until someone notices me.

Then I hear my name.

"Ashley! How long have you been standing there? come in." It was Charlotte.

"Uh I..." I can feel the heat creeping up my face as everyone stares at me one by one.

"So, this is our new model?" Snorts a blond haired girl with hazel brown eyes like my mom.

Except they don't look warm, they look mysterious and mean.

Charlotte notices the snear in the girl's voice.

"Luna, be nice." Charlotte scolds at the blond haired girl.

Luna snorts again and rolls her eyes.

"My apologies, Ashley. Luna can be a little rude sometimes but its okay." Charlotte informs me.

I nod at her instead of saying anything and finally walk into the office.

I can still feel everyone's eyes on me and I avoid looking at them.

"Anyways! Let me introduce you to the people who are going to help you be famous." Charlotte explains.

"Your cameraman was supposed to be here but-"

"I'm here, Charlotte." Every head turns towards the door where the voice was coming from.

It is the guy from last week who bumped into me.

Charlotte smiles at his presence.

"That is your cameraman, Oliver." Charlotte points at him.

He nods at me in response and I nod back.

Why does he look so much like Owen?

Charlotte introduces me to the rest of the people in the room and I kind of like them as I get to know them.

Except when she tells me that Luna is my makeup artist.

She eyes me up and down like she's going to give a makeover to a rat and it was an unfeasible task.

I pretty much ignore her.

"Okay that's the entire crew, so let's get started." Charlotte says a while later.

"Follow me." Luna tells me and I do just that.

She brings me in to a different room with a messy table that has makeup clustered everywhere.

She points to an empty seat for me to sit in.

She takes out foundation and primer and a bunch of other makeup stuff.

"What made you think that you can ever be a model?" Luna sneers as she pads the foundation on me.

"Excuse me?" I ask.

"You have so many pimples on your face its so difficult for me to cover them. I was surprised when Charlotte thought you can be a model" She states.

I bite the inside of my cheeks hard.

Anger is boiling inside me like an inflated balloon that's about to pop.

Then suddenly it does.

"Then what made you think that you can ever be a makeup artist?" I snap.

She flinches back as I say this.

I angrily glare at her.

"Probably for money." I continue.

She glares back but continues applying makeup on me.

After she tells me she's finished, I take one good look in the mirror.

And I admit:

She did a good job.

"I'm impressed." I finally mutter.

She scoffs as she dramatically flips her hair, prime in her eyes.

"That's why I'm the best makeup artist!" She exclaims.

I don't stay there for another second, so I hope off the chair and walk into the hall.

"Ashley, your outfit is ready!" Tracy, my fashion designer says as soon as I walk out.

I follow her to a fashion studio with a ton of clothes hanging from their personal hangers.

"Here it is!" Tracy points to the most beautiful dress I've ever seen.

It was short at the front, where my legs can be seen and long at the back, the silver purply fabric carefully laid out on the marbled floor.

It was shining in the ceiling lights, sparkling like stars on a dark night.

"It's so alluring." I say.

Tracy nods in approval.

"Try it on, I know its the perfect fit." She nudges me towards the dress.

I slip it off the mannequin that was wearing it and go into the changing room.

I admire myself in the changing rooms mirror after I put it on.

I twirl in place until Tracy calls out my name.

I walk out and she oohs and ahhs

"Okay its time to shoot." She says and I walk out after her.
