As I pull into my driveway, I notice two cars.
One is my moms and the other one is my fiance's. I get a mini heart attack of excitement. My fiance has been to a different state for months and he's finally here.
I quickly get out of my car and into my house.
"Look who's here." A voice calls from the kitchen.
It's my fiance, Derick.
"Hi!" I say cheerfully stepping into the kitchen.
He flashes me a smile as his ocean blue eyes look me up and down.
He smells like my favorite cologne of his.
And he's wearing casual jeans and a T-shirt.
He gives me a side hug as he approaches me.
"Looking fancy today." Derick says.
"I just came from the agency, I just liked the makeup." I reply to his comment. "I can't believe your here."
"Me too." Mom says from behind me.
"Hi, mom." I say.
"Hello, dear. Your a little late today." She says.
I keep silent.
I don't want to tell her what just happened right in front of Derick.
"Yeah, just decided to get some lunch." I lie.
"Okay, Ash." Mom says.
I turn to Derick. "Are you staying?"
"Nah, I'm gong after dinner." He replies.
I nod. "Okay."
After a few hours of laughing, talking, and dinner, Derick finally leaves, giving me a bouquet of red roses.
I sit down next to Mom as she puts on our favorite show.
"Mom," I start.
She pauses the show and looks at me.
"What is it?" She asks.
I take a deep breath before replying.
"I- found Owen, he's my cameraman." I finally say.
Mom's eyes go wide.
"What?!" She shouts. "Are you serious?"
"Yes. I figured it out on my own. And I didn't come home late because I ate lunch, I came home late because I followed Owen and we talked for a bit, he told me that he knew it was me from the start. And you know the girl he killed on the night he ran away? Well she had a twin and she took care of Owen ever since." I explain.
Mom listens attentively, eyes wide as saucers.
"Where does he live?" She asks.
"I don't know the address but he lives in a very dark neighborhood." I reply.
"You mean Willow Street, right?" Mom asks.
"I guess." I reply.
"Okay, take me to the Agency tomorrow, I want to meet him." Mom says.
"Okay, Mom I will." I agree.
And with that, we silently watch the show on the TV.
