Ch.22 The way to the Heavens

A veil of Darkness covered the Island of the Skies. I walked forward, the veil pushed me back but I kept walking. A purple haze clouded my vision, I felt the veil move around me, I paused and looked at Anyira who stood a distance from the darkness.

"We have to get to the core of island." I said feeling eager.

She looked at me astonished.

"Your eyes! They are giving off a purple light!" she said amazed and beagn to walk forward.

We began to walk toward the center, I began to feel uneasy. I moved a branch out of my way only to see four statues with a purple light coming from them.

"Wait! Those are Silent Deitys. What are they doing here I thought they were only supposed to protect the island of Shadows?" Anyira said quickly and softly.

I looked at the Deitys, they looked so familiar.

"If you get too close you might wake them and I hear they don't go down so easily." Anyira said softly.

"I can take them just get to the Stone of the Sky." I said snapping to make my sword appear.

Anyira looked at me "You can't be serious!" she said shocked.

I shook my head yes as I took a step forward, her eyes widened. I drew in a breath, shifted my feet and leaped into action. The statues came awake lifting their stone swords. As I got a closer look at the Deitys, there was a symbol that resembled the one in my dream.

They began to creep towards me, swords raised, I flapped upward and began at the statue on the far left. I came to a sudden stop, we were in a sword lock, I pushed harder at the Deitys sword, it didn't seem to budge.

Suddenly the Sword of Shadows began to glow a purple and blue light. The other Deitys were behind me now ready to swing, I let go of the sword lock and flapped upward just in time to see that their swords had just swung down hitting the ground with a loud thud. I remained in the air flapping steadily.

The Deitys moved into a square shape. The sword began to glow more I felt myself grow stronger, took the sword into both hands and did a sword dive right into the middle of the four of them. I hit the ground impaling the sword into it, a blue wave of light shot out from the sword knocking the Deitys to the ground. The symbol on the Deitys turned the same blue I had seen in my dream.

"She has come." Said one of the Deitys.

"Forgive us mistress of the Shadows." said another.

I breathed heavily and looked around for Anyira, she hadn't moved an inch from where she stood, she looked frightened.

"Is there anything we can do for you mistress?" The first Deitys said.

"The stone, the stone of the Sky." I said catching my breath.

"Very well as you wish." they all said in unison.

Their swords raised as one and hit the ground. The land beneath my feet began to shift, I moved, Anyira walked over to me she seemed speechless. We watched as the blue stone of the Skies emerged from the ground. The Deitys returned to stone. Anyira looked at them and then back to me.

"Your hair." she said astonished.

I looked down purple streaks had grown in my hair. I looked back up at Anyira and smiled.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

"Yes." she replied with a smile.

I began to wonder what lies ahead on our journey to the Heavens...
