Revenge!?

He stood in the open centre of the city as he opened his eyes. He could control his body again, but there was nobody else around him. Only him and the giant tree that wasn't far from him.

"Why are you so worried?" The voice rang all around him. Aiden had not heard in his ears, nor in his mind. He felt that the whole world was talking to him.

"What are you? A tree? Are you the god they are talking about?" Even if he could see everything but nothing makes sense to him. "Where is everyone? What is this place?"

"You trespass on my territory, and you are asking me who I am?" There was some movement at the top of the tree.

The next moment, the whole crown of the tree shook like crazy, and two eyes lit up again. Slowly, it came out of the tree and stopped inches away from Aiden.

The beast was over four meters tall even when it was on its four limbs. Its front limbs were much larger than its hind legs. It was stripped back with a small head on its shoulder.

But the claw was the most prominent feature of it. Each of its limbs had three claws that were more than a foot long.

"What are you?" Aiden mumbled.

"I am the god of this realm." The air around him vibrated with the voice.

"God?" Aiden snorted, "There is no such thing as God. You are just a beast with consciousness. Do you think that makes you a God?"

Looking at Aiden, the beast's thick lips parted, exposing rows of white teeth. Looking at him, one might think he was angry, but Aiden felt that he was smiling.

"I am a god who can make your wish come true." The face of the beast was an inch away from Aiden's. It whispered in his ear, "Tell me what do you want?"

"What do I want?" Aiden mumbled as an overwhelming number of thoughts flooded his mind. Aiden did not see it, but the smile on the face of the beast was growing.

"You want to go back to your family?" As the voice resonated with the world, and the beast vanished in thin air. Aiden looked with wide-open eyes as few people came out of the roadside house.

"Brother, brother. Why are you so late? I've been waiting for so long." Aaron grumbled as he jumped onto Aiden. Behind him came a grey-haired man, a middle-aged woman, and a teenage girl whose eyes were red from crying.

"Sorry Aaron, your brother's been a little busy." Looking at the little boy in his lap, he found it hard to control his tears.

"Aaron, come down here. You're so heavy that you shouldn't let your brother carry you." Looking at her mother, Aaron tried to wiggle, but Aiden didn't let him down.

"Come on, Mommy. I'm stronger right now. I don't feel any weight at all." Looking at his mother, the warmth spread from his heart.

"You shouldn't pamper him too much." His father complained.

'You haven't changed at all, Dad.' Aiden smiled in his heart as he turned to Ayra. She stood there stealing Aiden's glances, not daring to show her concern. 'You're shy as always, Sister.' Aiden smiled.

"Or do you want revenge? Pay the ones who did you wrong?" The beast was not within his sight, but the voice of the world resounded again.

Enric and a few others, whom Aiden did not know, came out of the other side. They were escorting four people. Lyla and others were forced to kneel with their hands tied behind their backs. Elijah was among them, too.

"You can do whatever you want to do. Nobody can stop you as long as you are under my protection." He was enticed more by the voice of the world.

Aiden said to Aaron, "Aaron, please go with my mother, I'll come back as soon as my work is done." Aaron nodded as he ran to his parents. They looked at Aiden with a smile on their face as they walked back into the house.

Aiden was walking up to them. Lyla, Elijah, Sara and Asher. They were all here, but none of them dared to look into his eyes.

"You can do whatever you want to do. No one's going to stop you." As the voice resonated again, Aiden realized that he was now holding the blade.

"Please, please spare me. I won't do it again." Elijah was the first one to cry out. And soon others followed.

"I am sorry. I don't know anything."

"Elijah forced me to."

"What are you waiting for? "The voice whispered in his heart in the middle of their pleading. "You don't have to worry about anybody. No one can harm you while you are under the protection of God."

"Brother, you have been wronged. You're not supposed to let them live. "Arya was the first to come out.

"Aiden, we know all about it." His parents also came out, "You don't have to worry about us. You can do whatever you want to do."

"Brother." Aaron was crying, "I don't want you to die. Please, don't die."

"Please, don't kill me." Elijah pleaded, "Please don't kill me. I was forced."

Aiden shook her off his feet. With her hand tied behind her back, she couldn't control herself and fell to the ground.

Looking at helpless Elijah, he couldn't control himself. Seeing the pitiful eyes Aiden laughed, "Why are you pleading now? Didn't you want to make a mana crystal out of me?"

"No, no. I don't…"

"Shut up." Aiden kicked her. "Didn't you say we were compatible?"

Elijah was struggling to get some air, but Aiden kicked her again, sending her to the ground.

"What are you doing?" And the next kick silenced Lyla.

Aiden smiled at her, "Why are you screaming now? Didn't you choose to remain silent when she tried to kill me?"

Lyla was bleeding at the edge of her lips. She stared furiously at Aiden, but he dared not say a single word. Aiden, on the other hand, moved towards Elijah while holding his blade.

"I'm not like you," Aiden said, squatting down beside Elijah. "I don't like to torment people at all. But I'm not going to give you a quick death."

"How dare you?" Even if Elijah couldn't stand up, she screamed, "Do you think you're going to survive if you touched me? I am the daughter of…"

*Smack*

Aiden punched her face, making her bleed out of her nose.

"You, you ..." she was startled by another punch. The arrogance in her eyes had vanished in a flash. Her lips were trembling, but she didn't dare say anything.

*Smack*

Nobody expected the third strike. Nobody knew if it was due to pain or fear, tears came out of her eyes. She never dared to look at him.

"Wait for your death to come," Aiden said, "you should wait. I'm going to kill you. But I'm going to kill you last. You ought to wait patiently. Wait for death to come. You need to understand how it feels to wait for death to come."

Aiden turned to Asher, "didn't you want to know how long I am going to survive with my wounded heart?" Aiden kicked his chest, causing him to fall on his back.

There wasn't a shard of hesitation in his eyes, nor was there any anger. He stared straight into the big, fearful eyes of Asher, and plunged the blade right into his heart.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh" The cry of pain filled the entire city. As he was struggling like a headless chicken. Yet the more he struggled, the more blood came out of his wounds.

By the edge of his vision, he could see that Sara was shuddering in fear. But he ignored her and moved towards Lyla.

"You know why I'm doing this thing? "Aiden has asked.

Yet, looking at Aiden or the blood-dyed blade on his hand, Lyla was not even afraid. She looked straight in his eyes.

"Why are you wasting so much time? I didn't do anything wrong. If you want to kill me, just do it."

"Didn't you do anything wrong?" Aiden laughed, "One who does evil, and one who remains silent even after seeing the evil act, is equally guilty."

She frowned, but she never pleaded for her life. She stared straight into Aiden's eyes as he cut off her throat. Even when she was a moment away from death, she didn't struggle at all.

Elijah, on the other hand, was acting differently. Her nose was twisted in an awkward angle, blood was sipping out of her mouth as she tried to escape using her leg.

"Ahhhhhhhhh…" She screamed in pain as Aiden stepped on her ankle. "Please, don't kill me. I will do anything, Ahhhhhhhh" She couldn't complete her words as she screamed again.

"Do what?" Aiden was smiling, but for Elijah, it was more frightening than the devil. "Tell me, what are you going to do for me?"

"I can give you credit points. If that is not enough, I will give you more credit when we return to the… ahhhhhhhh"

"I want to cultivate again." Aiden put more pressure on her leg, "Can you do that? Can you make me stronger?"

Elijah couldn't answer. She was howling as her ankle was slowly cracking under Aiden pressure.

*Crack*

Another cry of pain followed as Aiden slammed the spine of the blade against her shin. It was too painful for her to breathe, but Aiden did the same thing to the other leg, too.

"Kill me. Please kill me." Her snort and tears were making a mess of her face. She was pleading, pleading for her death.

However, Aiden smiled at her. The tip of his blade penetrated her suit and entered her stomach by a centimetre, "Didn't I say I will let you enjoy the pain."

It was her response as Aiden moved the blade along her stomach. The wound was not deep. There was bleeding, but not much of it. Even so, the blood of Elijah was sipped out every time she struggled.

"Enjoy the last moment of your life." Aiden stood up and moved away from her without looking back.

"Aren't you going to kill the last one?" the voice whispered again.

Aiden looked towards Sara. As soon as their eyes met she looked down. Aiden could see that she was shivering like a wet kitten. Aiden shook his head, "She did nothing wrong."

The voice of the world didn't say anything anymore. Looking back at his family at the distance, Aiden threw his blade off his hand. Cleaned the blood off his hand, as much as he could.

"Brother, brother. Why are you so late? I've been waiting for so long." Aaron grumbled as he jumped onto Aiden. Behind him came a grey-haired man, a middle-aged woman, and a teenage girl whose eyes were red from crying.

"Sorry Aaron, your brother's been a little busy." Aiden could not control himself anymore as tears came out of his eyes.

***********

Aiden raised his head slowly. The roots that touched his head returned to the earth. He stood up and looked back at the giant tree. It wasn't just him. Lyla and the others were doing the same thing.

But nobody can see that there was no pupil in their eyes. All their eyes were white.
