44 - progress

It had been a week since my negotiations with the Wasuri clan, things were going well in the territories. Ruling wasn't my forte, but I didn't actually murder the governors anyway, I just removed their figure head. Repairs and maintenance had went well and before I knew it, my mansion somehow grew bigger in size... Alright I got a contractor and an architect because I didn't want a dull home filled with the memories of my battle with uncle Vadim.

Up till this day, I still did not know his actual name and only referred with his family name of Vadim. Whatever it was, you had to search ancient record for his name now, or at least have to thoroughly search through my mansion. But that wasn't going to happen, this was his punishment, to be forever forgotten. I'm can't imagine why someone would look for it in the first place, but that was it.

Even if I left the governing back to the original group, I still had to check for corruption. Guards? Who needs that, I'll deal with it myself if anything happened. Taking another week, there was some easy corruption at a rather miniscule level, I barely had to life a finger or use my mana and they would go down.

Going back to my mansion, as a ruler of 4 territories, I needed a more efficient and organised group to keep track of everything. With that in mind, I formed my own governing body that would pass laws through me for approval. A few departments were made in the process, there was the law department, the intelligence department and the military department. The largest one was the intelligence department, they kept track of present issues that the citizens face, some kept track of enemy movement and the rest just investigate suspicious movements.

The military department kept track of the number of people in each territory. As far as I was concerned, I could leave trade and finance to the original governors as it would serve everyone's interest to prosper in business. The departments would split into further branches station in each territory. The only ones above the departments were my personal special operations group. In it was me, my advisor, hanafuyu kurisu and the party that had previously saved me when uncle ordered them to kill me.

With the defeat of uncle, I finally stopped disguising my name, though Lily-chan wasn't an awful name at all. Maybe I'll just ask my close friends to call me Lily if there were any. If I remember correctly, the names of the party members were kido , Iroha, Kogami and Yuuka. Gaining 4 territories was a major feat, a change of pace was a definite requirement. So I renamed the people under me as the Lily faction, we had a crimson flag with a pink lotus in the middle to represent our enormous faction. My clan name itself had changed from Shuu to Vadim to Lilith. People could get confuse over which one was my first name, but I wouldn't care as both names were fine.

My advisor, Kurisu had flowing pink hair, purple irises and wore a loose white jacket with a casual suit underneath that included a beidge vest, black skirt and some opaque tights.

The leader of the special operations team, Kido had light brown hair that parted at his right, giving a slightly emo look, at the same time it gave him an aura of a bishounen. Iroha had pitch black hair that reached slightly below her shoulders and accentuated her elegant formal suit.

kogami had spiky brown hair with a business suit and average frame, which doesn't give people the right impression. He was actually way quieter than Kido, the leader and was usually relaxing around. The last person, Yuuka who was a little tomboyish sported shoulder length brown hair that fit her casual T-shirt and sweat pants.

During work the team would be in all black to carry out their task, but on normal days they each wore their own different clothes. Overall, things had been going well. Though I occasionally forget to do my schoolwork. Being a student and a ruler at the same time was strange, well it was my job anyway. With the technology of the 4 families, our defense wasn't lacking either. The last target was the Hisonne family. It was the final stretch.

After organising my forces, I had quite a few tank legions at my disposal and the Zakwin family's personal jet force. I didn't actually need such a force and become a restricted ruler, so this was rather temporary. After this strange war, I would give the rights of the territories and related things back to the families. Though, I would keep my new organisation. They were useful as a private mercenary group anyway. Me governing for the rest of my life was just unrealistic, with my inadequate performance, the territories would just collapse within themselves. I just wasn't suited for governing.

It was just a usual saturday, I lazed around in my couch while my advisor would drink tea on the opposite couch. We had people running around sorting things and going about their work while we were slacking. Well, I was slacking, Kurisu was paying my lazy self company and doing some minor work. Kido was the only one from the party at the office.

"Hey Kido, don't you have work to do?" I asked facing the ceiling, unwilling to turn my face from laziness.

"Lilith sama, don't you have more work?" (Kido)

"Hmm, that's true. Let me retract my statement and offer a apology."

"Hu~. Should we go somewhere to have fun? I'm bored." (Kido)

"Sure. You're job will be guarding me."

"I know it's just an excuse, but isn't protecting the "walking calamity" a horrible excuse? "(Kido)

" You should know how I feel about that nickname. It's dumb~~It's so dry that it's not even funny. "

" Hey, I wasn't the one that conquered 4 territories in a week. "(Kido)

"... Are you guys done? You're at the top of the organisation, it's not like I can keep you guys from going outside. I've pretty much gotten used to you guys lazing around by calling Kogami-san before hand. Hu~~~, and here I was, wanting to be the advisor due to how you inspired me to work hard, but reality is cruel. "(Kurisu)

The last sentence strangely agitated me, but it was fine. Learning how to let go of that small agitation is a great skill in life. Right, I guess it was time to stretch my legs. Picking myself up from the couch, I walked towards door and gestured for Kido to come.

Kido was around his early 20s while the other party members and kurisu was around 19. Weird misunderstandings may come up from taking a walk with Kido alone, but it was fine~ Kido was similar to me and only had eyes for battle. Nobody expects a aggressive archer but that was just Kido being himself. He pretty much uses a bow as a shotgun, but would occasionally use his class properly.

During the walk, I had Kido pay for my crepe and tricked the cashier into thinking I was his little sibling. It was overall relaxing until the news came from my Intel group. The king has died. Following the narrative, there was going to be a war for the throne. Due to having the backing of 2 great families and the control of 4, the people were scared of me becoming a tyrant. Folowing it logically, no one would allow a 7 year old to rule a kingdom.

The thing that caught my attention the most was the king's death. I, who exceeded the stats of a level 1000 couldn't defeat him. Then who could?
