158 - Attack part 3 - heart

*

"Tch!, [Shadow step-tier 4]" Raising my right palm into the air, I called out with all my strength. Heeding Iyori's advice... Nothing happened.

"Hah?! Did Gefald build some anti-escape measures?! Gimme a sec, I help you!" (Iyori) Her burden was already great, yet she didn't hesitate. Fighting Gefald for the past few minutes has let her roughly gauged his power, she was confident in her own power. After all, the main vanguard of her party is gone, so she honed her combat capabilities with all her will, even learning [Survivor's melancholy] in the process. In a way, it was a skill that really represented her.

"Alright... I'll wait... Fuh! Did you think I would say that?" Unable to contain my thoughts, a reflex slipped and laughter seeped through my speech.

"Ho~?" (Gefald)

"Huh?! What are you talking ab-" (Iyori)

"Exactly a year ago I was defeated. In my quest... To do my best and protect Cress... I was beaten by someone stronger than me. I sort of broke from the pressure, but this me from a year in front is different...

Anyone could tell there was something wrong, BUT WHAT CHANGE CAN BE MADE NOW IF I RUN?! "

" Lilith!! This is no time for that!! I'll let you take your anger on me out later! So just run for now! Please... "(Iyori)

" Really? "

" Yes... So please... Run...! "(Iyori)

"... None of this anger is directed at you in the first place... It was at myself. In the end, I'll have to put everything on the line if I want to forge a path to my ideals. And the first thing to use... Is my enemy's blood. " The shock waves caressed the fluttering fringe. Cold sweat had started emanating from Gefald's presence alone. He was clearly not human.

'This is no... Time... Fez, where are you! You're suppose to keep an eye on her!' (Iyori)

'Sorry, I'm a little busy at the moment...' (Cress)

"Alright enough games. You can't take damage, but you can still be sealed. Infinite sealing technique [Causality barrier]. [War] " (Gefald)

A brightly coloured sphere entrapped Iyori, forming a kaleidoscope like texture that constantly warped to form a new colour pattern. It was quickly followed up by the manifestation of those same earlier orbs, into the air. Each orb shot forward trails of light, akin to a laser bombardment, all destructive enough to instant kill level 900 monster bosses. There was no doubt, my meagre 5 digit health can't even tank a single hit.

A shower of lights in every colour filled the sky of this large room, dying the white space in an array of colours. Crashing onto the ground, smoke welled up, blocking everyone's sight, not like they needed it to fight. With their sense skills, anyone could fight without using their eyes.

As the smoke dispersed off naturally, the two girls appeared unscathed. Though trapped in a barrier that reversed all her actions, Iyori's skill [One that survives all] was unaffected. It was a skill that didn't count as an action,it counted as a naturally occurring phenomena, a concept, bypassing the effect of the seal.

"How did u survive...?! [War]!!" (Gefald) This time, the orbs glowed an ominous black. A strange substance was overflowing out of the top and gradually flowed to the bottom like a black mud that defied gravity. This substance kept moving in the same motion covering every inch of what would be a normal light orb. Their presence enough gave my nerves an incredible shiver, sending my conscious on edge to struggle with maintaining my composure. All that smack talk... Was there truly no substance to it?

The orbs flew past the distance in an instant... No... Calling it an instant would be a disservice. Offensive magic typically followed the Agility value of the caster, if they were top tier. Certain magic, like skills can even go beyond the user's Agility value. This one's however, matched the pace of Gefald. Fortunately, this made them easy to dodge.

"...r...n..o..."

"Huh?" (Gefald) More orbs form out of thing air, raining down on where my head would have been. Predicted attacks, homing attacks, split attacks, feint attacks, all of them were skillfully avoided with mere velocity.

"...Ter.... Han... Ou! "

"Tch?! What are you saying!?" (Gefald)

"I'm faster than you." Unlike all the previous attempts, this one sounded the most clear as it was whispered to the back of Gefald's ear. From close range and direct contact, energy manipulation was futile when it directly explodes. Without moving the energy around, control cannot be wrestled. It was an instant conversion to damage, explosions, deep-frying, radiating, boiling, melting, disintegrating. Gefald's nigh unbeatable skill was control over energy, not the rest of the above.

Energy that could erase the capital in an instant rampaged over the flesh of his back. Sending his throat convulsing with blood shooting out, before I took a few steps back to put some distance.

I severely outclassed him with my enhancements, he can't hit something faster than him without a skill. Unfortunately his hp was so high that I'll have to raze down 5000 capital's to defeat him. I hadn't pushed myself this far ever since the time I fought Cress, so I just needed to inject 5000 times the power I just did.

Wiping the blood off his lips with a smirk, it seems he identified my predicament.

"I'll destroy that mug of yours!"

Leaving an explosion in my wake, I swing my foot to the back of his head. Using [Shadow step], I teleported the [Demonic energy] in, detonating 20 times the same amount. More crimson red liquid shot out his throat. My [Demonic energy] armour had already dispersed earlier, since he could detonate them directly on me. Alternating between punches and kicks, my consciousness dwindled from the fiery pressure assaulting my nerves. The speed enhancement wasn't meant to be used for this long, the white space filling the ceiling was somehow getting dark.

Gradually the kicks numbered in the 10s then in the 100s,chipping his hp down lower than ever. For his whole entire life, he hadn't reached half of his health before. However he still maintained composure, even released a crackling voice of laughter occasionally. His blood stained the nearby ground in a radius of 15 metres. So much blood had been puked out that it was unbelievable how a normal person could have survived that. Too bad, Gefald was no normal person. From observing his stats, he had a class similar in power to the origin classes. That was dreadful, he had already used [War] which fired many deadly projectiles. If he had anymore up his sleeve, I may not last.
