189 - Journey of the End 7

The impact had caused the demon lord to lose her conscious and lasting damage. The [death] threads faded out before I could hit any, barely safeguarding my life.

"Amelia, infuse my body into this body. Also erase the previous holder while they are unconscious. No... In fact, absorb them." (Emily von Lilith)

"Yes master." (Amelia)

Losing consciousness for the umpteenth time, my field of view blacked out before colour was restored. I was standing in the middle of a wasteland with the sun barring on my back. This wasn't good for my skin.

Anyway I should head back to the church now. This body was level 6000,which was normally impossible. I suspect it was a part of an origin class, to surpass their level cap. I didn't have a origin class before so I didn't bother trying. Now that the soul is different, the altar should be able to change my class... Then after that... I'll... Have to give her a proper resting place... Tch! Fez... Why did you have to die...

Though this body was rather durable and set at level 1000 when I took over, it had lost a considerable amount of stamina, causing the need to limp a little while walking. I didn't have my usual teleport action skills since I lost my previous body, all I had was [Demonic energy] an its sub skills, along with the new authorities I had just received. Casting [Death] on the concept of distance for a small area, I crossed an invisible rift in space. It was akin to walking into a window, only that the surroundings changed dramatically to reveal I was back in the capital of Ilnoa.

Slowly and steadily, I headed towards the church. This was similar to the soul disease in that my body had a physical problem due to the inability of coordinating with my mind. In other words it was more like controlling every individual tissue and muscle rather than moving the whole body like normal.

Reaching a nearby church, the doors gave way to a old draped carpet on the ground with embroidery so old it rusted on the carpet. Reaching the alter, I reached my hand over the coin slot, injecting [Demonic energy] to start up the mechanism and hasten the process.

{Class up}

{Yes/No?}

Choosing yes, the system received affirmation and started running. The surrounding people had seemed shock as a rather pale wobbling girl had just skipped the que. A white flash of light appeared before a black pillar stretched from the altar to the sky, expanding to swallow the whole church into darkness. Just as the black light vanished, a new notification resurfaced at the back of my mind.

Receiving my last class up, I had finally reached the realm of origin class users. In fact I had 4/6 of all of them in existence. In the end, I realised why Zet would allow someone like me to keep coming back to fight again. It was because everything was futile. No matter what, as long as we stayed in the system, our battles will just devolve into infinite attack versus infinite defense. In which his skill [One above all] would always come out on top and utterly defeat us. We were playing a flawed game the whole time, making it impossible to beat Zet.

He must be incredibly excited now though. I've finally regained everything from my previous death, perhaps he wanted to see something new, or perhaps he had faith in me. I would say that I would likely disappoint him. Of course there wasn't much change from before, progress halted when you reached your limit, nothing as convenient as a new 'god killing power' would suddenly emerged in this life. There is no doubt that I would be defeated. Unlike fairy tales where the main character receives a power up at the final moment, this was reality, albeit filled with magic and other strange things... Still, nothing will ever come to help me from nowhere. If I wanted to win, I needed to find the difference between us and use it to my advantage.

In this course of events, 25 years have passed since my reincarnation. From what the other Emily said, he would invoke the concept of "suicide" and cause this universe to implode after 15 years. The line of events have already diverged, he must have been swayed by my final words in our battle 12-13 years after my reincarnation. At this point I wasn't keeping track. It didn't matter anyway, I have to fulfill my promise... So a time limit was still somewhat imposed despite being unmentioned.

In other words, I had to fight. Even if it ends in my death... Well, he would likely erase the universe anyway if I were to die or run away. In conclusion, I wasn't going down without a fight. Manipulating [Famine], I raised my level to 6000 and allocated the final stat distributions. Ignoring the cacophony of witnesses at the church, I teleported out and back into the dorm. The place closest to where everything started. My family house... Vadim family's house had already been renovated into another facility. It was easy though... To find my mother... She was relocated to my mansion before I died after all.

"Wait a sec, I'm going to visit my mother. "

"..." (???)

Remanifesting at the mansion, the magic security was sent into a frenzy before being deactivated with ease. Knowing where all the mechanisms are, I sliced apart the circuitry with [Demonic energy] and rewired it to recognise me as the new master.

"Ha ha..., is that you? Emily...? " (?)

"I think I look close enough to the original... Well I am~ the original, but this body isn't. I'm back, Kurisu. How have things been?"

Transparent fluid was released before being abruptly shut off. Her shoulders shivered a little as a few emotions rampaged to express themselves on her face. It seemed that she had seen much better days, it was probably the influence of time, she had a large cloak on that befit someone lazing at home in the morning and her hair was lazily combed with numerous ends that peeked upwards. Successfully controlling her emotions, she had countless questions to interrogate with, however only one phrase occupied her mind as of now.

"Welcome back, Emily~" (Kurisu)
