Chains And Locks

Blake was all up for being honest with his replies before the lady, but the last question had left him somewhat puzzled and frowning. He didn't know how to reply to it.

The problem didn't lie in coming up with an answer; he had the answer ready. It was rather the lady's reaction in response to it which was somehow worrying him. He didn't want to make things awkward for her, more specifically, for himself.

"You don't have to tell me the reason." Seeing that he was hesitating a little, Clare decided to shrug it off. She didn't want to leave a bad second impression either.

"It's nothing like that. I am just too ashamed to accept it." Blake let out a couple of awkward chuckles as he explained the reason behind his lack of enthusiasm in sharing.

"Try me." She gave him a bright smile in return, indicating that whatever it was, it couldn't be that bad for her to grab her bag and run away from him.
