A Crime

The scene kept replaying inside her head against the dark backdrop of her closed eyes. She was stuck in the memories of her own crime, reliving it over and over again. No matter how hard she tried to move, she wasn't able to. 

To her, it seemed like she would never be able to get out of her never ending nightmare. Neither would she be able to bury the horrid memories of the incident. 

She wanted to call his name, but her parched lips refused to move even the slightest bit. At the same time, her tongue refused to comply with her mind. Her fingers seemed to be on the same page as them, shoving away her every attempt. 

"Lillian?" A soft murmur echoed through her ears, tingling her senses. "Wake up, already!" The jumbled up words made their way into her ears as she tried to make sense of them.
