This story is actually a spin-off of “My Little Sunshine”, and the main leads here are actually supporting characters in it. But since the story is retrospective regarding Blake and Lillian, it's fine if you haven’t read it.

"But why?" She could only smile back at him while asking him for more details.

Her words settled inside his mind as he gave her a long thoughtful look. How was he supposed to explain it to her? More precisely, he didn't know where to begin. Hence, he chose the easiest way.

He told it to her in the simplest way possible. He was straightforward with his words.

"You ask me why it was wrong for the two of them to fall in love?" He let out a low chuckle. "Because they belonged to two such families who have been nothing but rivals. They were not meant to fall in love. Neither were they supposed to be together." His lips curled up in a sad smile as he lowered his gaze.

"But they did manage to find their way together in the end, didn't they?" Lillian tilted her head forward in order to look into his eyes.
