Prisoner of war

Haikai wakes up in a dark room, it looked like a hospital. He was in a small room, it was a white room with a small bedside table, a bed, and a sink. A bald man in what looked like his early 60s walked in, "How are we feeling?" This snapped Haikai awake, he noticed he had bandages and had an I.V. tube, he shifted and tried to rip it out, as he moved he groaned in pain. The man let out a light sigh "I don't think we need to be doing any of that yet" he sat down in a chair across from him, "we found you badly injured from a fight, you have been out for three days. You seem to be recovering at a good rate". "Where am I?" Haikai demanded an answer. "You're in the infirmary in an army base, the government evacuated some of the citizens of the city when the monsters appeared but we try to send a group to look for survivors every few nights. and your luck we found you." The doctor hears a beep on his radio "Yes sir he's awake" the doctor rises and goes to the door "Oh, by the way, my names Josh, you'll be seeing me around. A few hours passed and he got bored, *system start* he browsed through the different skill trees and he saw a button to upgrade the system for 500XP, he accepted it and felt a light humming in his head. A pleasant female voice said "Hello Haikai my name is Celeste" the image of an attractive woman flashed through his head he was about to ask questions before his door burst open, A large man with greying hair walked in, his chest was decorated with many ribbons and medals, in a gruff voice he said "So, you're the new recruit? your nothing special. Doesn't look like he could beat his meat let alone a Minotaur" a blond girl not much older than Haikai meekly said from behind him "Sir, we found him next to the dead minotaur.." it seemed like he didn't hear as he moved forward, he leaned down to Haikai's ear and whispered "Oh don't worry, I know exactly who you are." as he raised back up he saw a familiar glint in the man's eyes... They left and Haikai was left alone in the room, he drifted to sleep and appeared in a large room that was filled with holographic screens and desks. He looked around and noticed someone turned around sitting at a desk, in front of them was a large screen that showed vital signs and other stats that he couldn't read. The chair spun around he was face to face with a woman she looked about his age with glasses and a messy bun, "Hiiii!" "Welcome!" she then ran and gave Haikai a hug. He stumbled back at the sudden hug and awkwardly stood with his arms out, "Uh hi" she let go and jumped up and down giggling. "I'm so happy to meet you, I've been watching your progress and managing your system!" Haikai was already getting a headache from her perkiness, speaking of that as he looked at her jumping he was only staring at one place. She didn't seem to notice, she grabbed his hand and dragged him over to the screen, it was filled with code and fluctuating lines. She went on explaining what she does but he only half-listened, he was in awe of the place and her. After a few minutes, she stopped to catch her breath and he quickly spoke: "So, how and why am I here?" "Well, the system is part of your subconscious so it can be entered like a dream." "As for how I really really wanted to see you!" Suddenly his vision became blurry, he looked at the screen and saw though the dark a figure approaching him with a knife, he woke up with start making the figure stumble back. He heard a little gasp as they dropped the knife and bolted out of the door, he got up and removed his IV and sensors. He heard a small beep go off as he went and got dressed, he left the room and walked down the hall, he saw a young group of soldiers walk past. They stopped and the leader of the group approached him and got in his face "This is him huh?" "Looks like a lil...." Haikai pushed the guy back with a little too much force, meaning he flew down the hall. The guy stood up lightly stumbling, as Haikai looked at his hands shocked he felt a tingle in his brain and turned around just in time to dodge a punch. He dodged and was about to make a counter when a female voice rang out "What do you think you are doing?!" The blond from earlier marched up to the group surrounding him, they all looked at her with disdain. "Well hello if it isn't Luitenant Mercy" they give her half-assed salutes and make mocking faces. She has a very lithe, athletic build, stood about 5"6' with platinum blond hair tied in a bun under her hat. She kept her composer and grabbed Haikai and led him back to his room, she stood outside the door not looking at the room or him. Haikai decided just to go inside and go back in his room, as he went in and closed the door he flipped on the lights to see Josh sitting looking at his "What the hell!" Haikai jumped and stumbled back, Josh started laughing. "Don't get too riled up, in just here to check on you" He stood up and looked Haikai over, "I'm not sure how but you seem to be healing at a fast rate, the likes of which I've never seen in my whole career" He smirked a bit had a far off look in his eye "well, no matter ill be seeing you later" he got up and pat Haikai's shoulder and left the room. Haikai went and laid on his bed and somehow drifted to sleep, thankfully not with Celeste.
