CALEB SOUND CONCERNED

Caleb asks, "Was she badly hurt?"

The sales clerk looks at him, as she concluded in her mind, 'he sounds so concerned,' responding to him, "I cannot say, sir, all she asked me to do was pay her bill,  and to bring her two plaster and an umbrella, was it your vehicle that hit her sir?"

Noticing how red his eyes were with rage and then he muttered something and walked out of the store. 'Boy he is angry, so why did he sound so concerned a minute ago?' She looked at him go as he gets into his car and drive away in such a hurry.

Driving out the curb thinking to himself, 'Why is it women have to feel they are indispensable, sometimes, I hate them so much, they are so unpredictable.'

Slanting a glance to his left towards Jezell who was sprawled out, not paying any attention to her surroundings and only her nails, but then out of the blue she said, "Darling, there's no need to rush home."

"I am not rushing, it is just that dad called and told me there is a family meeting and to be home for six."

"Can I join you?"

"Jezell, I have told you so many times that it is impossible, you don't know my family. One minute they like you and the other you are like their worst enemy. I don't want to put you through that, not yet anyway."

"But you keep promising me that we will elope."

"I know honey, but now is not the right time, after we arrange Petal's wedding and she gets married then we will discuss this subject. In fact, I believe they want to discuss her marriage this evening."

Hearing his watch beep as he drove up to Jezell's entrance, "See you tomorrow, now hurry, I am getting late."

"Do you expect me to go out in the rain and get wet?"

"No, but I am afraid that you would have to make a run for it. This rain seems to be angry this evening," Caleb said as he looked out the windscreen assessing how heavy the rain was.

"Rain doesn't get angry, but the person who ran in front of you seemed to have gotten you on the edge," Jezell said with a smirk look on her face as she scopes out his facial reaction.

"Did you see which direction she went Jezell?" Caleb asked with enthusiasm as he became aware that she was still paying attention to her surroundings when the accident took place.

"Who?" Jezell asked, acting as though she was not aware of who he was talking about, or maybe she wasn't interested in having that conversation but all she know was that she was killing time just for a few more minutes to be with him.

"Jezell, we are talking about the person who ran in front of my car, so which way did she go?"

"I can't say, I was filing my nails."

Caleb reached to the back seat and picked up a towel before throwing it at her, "Here, use this and cover your head."

He drove away as soon as she closed the door, not looking back once to see if she entered her house or not. Feeling uncomfortable he shifted a few times on his seat trying to relax as he felt this rage surging through his veins.
