THE PERFECT ALIBI

Dennis looks at Caleb and then asks, "Caleb, do you have someone you are secretly admiring that you don't want this young lady to know about?"

"Are you out of your mind? I just wanted to see if my suspicion was right about something that happened yesterday while going home."

"Caleb, come on buddy, we have been friends for so long and I have never seen you worked up like this, so tell me what is going on?"

Caleb hesitated for a bit but then said, "Dennis, yesterday by mistake I touched this lady, and the rain was falling heavily, I tried to say I am sorry, but she left in a hurry, so I don't think she was aware I wanted to speak with her."

"Oh, my goodness Caleb, you made a hit and run accident?"

Caleb knew Dennis didn't need the exact detail, but he was a diversion to get away from Jezell, "Not exactly, as I said I stopped and came out to speak with her, but it seems as though she didn't realize what had occurred, that is why I was standing here hoping to see if she recognized me or even realized what had occurred."

"You are a lucky devil, did your vehicle get damage bad?"

"It was a slight thing, nothing much to worry about, it more seems I got damaged when I came out and get soaked in the rain, now it seems I have to visit the doctor."

"Then be thankful, you just have to hope that her vehicle is the same because if you were caught the doctor's fee will be petty cash for compensation."

When his watch beeped Dennis said, "I must go buddy, but the next time we meet, I will take you up on that offer."

Caleb watched him walk away, then he looks around to see if she was still lingering around.

He walks towards the car park sneezing a few times, he decided he won't wait any longer he will visit the doctor. As he gets into his car, he felt relief that Jezell wasn't anywhere around, and Dennis was the perfect alibi.

Visiting the family doctor's office, when DR Shawn saw him, he said, "Caleb what is wrong with you today?"

"Doc, yesterday I got wet, and it seems that I am coming down with something, so I stop by just to be on the safe side."

Hearing Caleb sneeze, Dr. Shawn took his vitals seeing he was okay, it is just the sneezing he doesn't have a high temperature. "Okay, Caleb it's just the sneezing, let me give you a booster shot, and you can get these vitamins, and you should be okay."

"Thanks, Doc," Caleb leaves the doctor's office and heads straight to the pharmacy.  and bought the vitamins that were prescription on his way home.

All he wanted was to be secluded away in his room for the remaining of the evening. With his eyes slightly burning he decided to get an early night's rest.
