UNEXPECTED VISITORS

October reaches and Caleb needed some solace, since that day he prayed in September to the Lord to make some kind of a way, and to give him strength, he felt some peace and the business had done much better. He knows the number of changes he had made during the few months and the running from one store to another his brain and body are exhausted.

"If only I could get a few extra months I know I will be able to make up the dowry without putting the business at risk."

At the end of the first week in October, word came that the suitor of Petal would not be back until March. That news was like a breath of fresh air, Caleb's heart was relieved from the heavy burden, and now he could build the company back to its glory. He knew then that God has answered his prayer and it felt good.

Saturday the sixth of October, mom, his dad, and myself were just about to have a quiet dinner, Petal was still in her room. Hearing the gate bell ring. Caleb said he will get it while Mrs. Zelda dished out our dinner.

Seeing a white BMW at the gate, his mind runs straight on the young lady. Caleb becomes curious to see who the unexpected visitors were and who the  BMW belong to?'

Opening the gate anxiously he waited for the driver to alight the vehicle, as they park at the entrance. When Nevil stepped out, Caleb said, "This is nice, I see you are moving up."

"Thanks, little brother."

Then when the other doors opened and Gilbert stepped out, then Aaliyah, "Isn't this a surprise. Well, dad and mom would be happy to see you all."

Seeing them smiling as they entered the hall, "Why don't you join us, we were just about to have dinner."

"We just dropped by to know if Petal's wedding is confirmed for the end of the month," Aaliyah queried.

"Then please come and join us for dinner, Dad and mom will give you the news you three are behaving as though we are strangers." Caleb encourages them knowing dad will be happy to see them.

When Petal came and sat by the table she said, "It been a while since you all have visited but maybe mom had already told you all, we had a slight setback, and we still haven't made the dowry money, so it is good in a way."

"I thought you were getting a dowry Caleb to offset Petal's dowry?" Aaliyah responded immediately.

"True, but that fell through the said week when the mom of the girl died," Caleb responded.

"It seems like some crookedness had overtaken this house since we were last here."

"You might think that Aaliyah, but we see it as God's being merciful towards us. You see we were able to save one of the stores and we are out of deep waters for now," Caleb replied.

'They don't need to know that we are afloat and have a savings set aside, Caleb knows he needs to retrieve the savings that he put into the business without anyone knowing or medaling.'

"I am glad to hear that," Gilbert replied.

"So Nevil, I see things are looking up your way, how long have you gotten that car?"

Caleb heard him laugh, "I see you like it, I got a good deal, so I took a chance and invest."

"You still didn't answer my question?"

"Little brother, does it matter? But it seems you are unhappy to see us."

"Have we come to this where every question has to have a question and a motive. I am glad for you, the reason I asked was this car almost bounced my vehicle some months ago."

"Sorry to hear that, but I only got it about three weeks ago."

"Well just be careful."

"I will little brother."

When the doorbell rang, Caleb stood up asking for an excuse, but he was wondering, 'Who could it be visiting this late?' Looking at his time seeing it was already eight-o-clock.
