Forty Eight

Caleb saw Sarahiah put down the phone and he didn't want to go in before she exploded, he knew it was Jezell on the phone with her.

When the gate bell rang, Caleb rested the snacks down and hurried to open the gate. He saw this new white van driving up and parked at the side he said, "Yes sir, how can I help you?"

"I am here to meet with Miss Steelton," the gentleman said.

"She is waiting, just come this way."

When the man alighted from the van holding a briefcase, Caleb saw him stretched his hand out and said, "I am Victor."

"Sarahiah is waiting in the library for you Mr. Victor."

"Is she freelancing?" Victor asked.

"No, but she is doing some work at her home and needed some place quiet to work. So you deal with vehicles?"

"Yes, she called me wanting her car to go immediately, so my boss sent me over."

"I see, so tell me what cost my van could be swapped for?"

Caleb noticed him walk around the van then looked at the inside, "As you see, the plastic is still covering the seats." Caleb said

"Well, with a twenty added with the van, you can get a newer model."

"Is that your best offer?" Caleb tried to negotiate.

Caleb looked at him smile as he said, "Okay, you know Sarahiah, so I could work out something for you."

Caleb entered the library and said, "Someone is here to meet you."

"Vick you have reach," Sarahiah said as soon as she saw him.

"Hi darling, you look sensational."

"Thanks, now let me hear what good deal you have to offer."

"Well Mr. Austin was pretty persuasive, but to get things done fast, it cost us something extra."

"Don't have me in suspense Vick, let me hear."

Caleb saw the wicked smile and her excitement as Victor lingered to reveal the price, "Come on and see this beauty, and if you like it, with your car and twenty nine thousand it's yours right now."

"Come on that can't be your best offer?"

"Will you just see the van first then we will come to an agreement?"

"Is it automatic?"

"Honey, I know what you like, I only get two of these a few days ago."

"So, you have another?"

"Yes."

Sarahiah walked with her arm linked around his waist, "Yeah, it is looking good, I could see myself driving one of that beauty. Twenty-nine you say?"

Sarahiah saw the nod so she then said, "Okay, how about right here on the spot I pay forty cash and you swap the two vehicles, and you bring the other like this later."

"You must be joking right?"

Victor observed her head shaking and there was not even a smile. "Sarahiah honey, I will be losing out big time in minutes."

"Vick, people lose their lives in minutes, so what if you lose five thousand, I have been buying from you over five years now," Sarahiah said.
