Fifty Five

"Child, I like the two, from the moment you came to our home you brought your blessing with you, thank you child," his dad said.

"Dad you don't have to thank me, you have to thank God, and when you all return from your two weeks rest, we will go to church together, what you say?"

"Yes child, you are right, I think that's a very good plan."

Sarahiah touched Caleb's nose then twinkled her eyes, "Now I am going for Petal to fix my hair, I will see you in a while," she said and he observed as she left she raised her both hands as though the battle had been won.

"I like the white van son, she will look good in the red, have your mother seen the two vans yet?"

"No dad, the other van just came and they took her car," Caleb said and then thought, 'I am unable to believe things work out so well and no big set of explanation was required.'

...

Caleb turned when the door opened, then he sat down suddenly, "What have you done to your beautiful hair?"

"Wasn't you paying attention when I was speaking with Petal, oh dear, you don't like it."

"Like? What the hell is there to like? Your hair is almost red."

"Hello, it is burgundy, not red."

"You are insane, and the rate things are going, you will drive me insane to."

"I know, but you don't have to worry, it just until this madness blows over and until then no one will be looking for me, they won't expect that I would destroy my beautiful golden hair. So, I would think it's perfect and you did say you like red."

"Look at me and listen well, I have gone along with your schemes the entire day, but this is ridiculous."

"If you are ashamed of me, then it is even more perfect."

"What the hell do you mean by that?" Caleb asked.

"Now you don't have to be obligated to me, neither do you have to keep looking over your shoulder," Sarahiah said.

Sarahiah saw the way he held his head with both hands and closed his eyes, 'Is he okay?' she thought and then went to him, "Are you alright?"

Caleb held her shoulders and gave her a good shake, "You don't have any idea what caught my attention that first day we collided into each other?"

Caleb heard her laugh and he recalled how she laughed that day when she slapped him, but then she asked, "Oh, maybe my beautiful golden wavy hair?"

"Exactly, so why did you have to go dying it with this ugly color?"

Sarahiah noticed how his eyes were closed as he was speaking, so she touched his nose with hers and then he opened his eyes and looked at her, 'Dear God, don't she know what riot she is causing in my body by her closeness?' Caleb thought.

Caleb then felt the adrenaline surging through his veins as he held her hand, he then kissed her lips and said, "Now you have really done it my little spitfire, you are worse than Jezebel."
