Eighty Nine

The evening seeped in slowly, but Sarahiah was determined to stay alert of things as she thought, 'With the life insurance policy from mom, I was able to pay off my loan. Now I must accumulate some cash just in case an opening of another business arises, so I can purchase it. But in the meantime, I will relax and save. That night I visited dad, I told him of the transaction that I ventured into, he was happy, even God was good to us. The doctor had given us until the end of October, that's why I consented to the marriage, hoping to give him some peace before he died, but God's grace granted him a month extra with us, and now he is with mom. The boys were hurting, and I couldn't depend on them. Alana, Joy, Amy and Elly had their hands full, and Caleb was there for me, now he needs my support.'

Sarahiah felt a touch so she opened her eyes, "You try and rest, I will just move these aside." Seeing the nod, Petal moved the laptop, then the center table.

"Do you need some milk or tea?" Petal asked.

"I am fine, why don't you try and rest."

When Petal left the room, Sarahiah went and took a shower, then lied down. Hearing the phone ringing she reached out and took it, she looked to see who was calling, observing that it was a private number, she left it too ring. It was persistent, but she ignored it, then when she finally got fed up of it, she switched of the phone and closed her eyes.

'I need to meet with Fred to hear what he had learned about mom's accident. Caleb hasn't asked anything about the 'For Sale' sign, but he seems to suspect something. I did that to throw of the people that was following me, and now with Petal here, I have to be careful before, next thing she reveal my identity, then the whole thing would start all over again. I haven't heard anything in about two months,' she thought as she closed her eyes and whispered a word of prayer.

...

"I am sorry sir, no one is answering."

"Keep trying."

"Sir, they switched of the phone."

"Have you got the address?"

"Sir, the dealer said Stella Street."

"What sort of imp are you? Stella Street is long, do we have to look from the top to the bottom, and have you forgotten the person said they moved? Check again."

"Sorry sir, but it is Maltose Street."

"Okay, let us deliver this file, and don't forget what boss asked us to do."

"I won't sir," he answered looking at the driver, wondering, 'Why it should be I taking the picture, when he just sits and give orders.'
