Ninety Four

"That my brother is for talking my food bad, for lying to everyone, and for holding a pregnant woman hostage in her own house."

"You are not leaving?" Caleb questioned Petal.

"No way bro, Sarah needs someone to protect her from your deception."

"You are not going to turn out like mom, right?" He asked.

"What does this have to do with mom?"

"Well, the first day, if you remember, she told me I have to be patient and honest with Sarah, and now she is breathing fire like a dragon, are you going to protect her like that?"

Caleb turned around to speak to Sarahiah, Telling Petal"Okay, I will say sorry to her, if that will make you happy?" but Sarahiah wasn't there, looking at Petal he said, "Well as you see, she isn't here."

"Where is she Caleb?"

"Maybe in the kitchen, she was hungry."

They both went to the kitchen, Caleb was unable to believe his eyes, Sarahiah had the pot on the table and was eating as though she hadn't eaten in days. He looked at Petal and asked, "Are you sure it's safe for her to eat your cooking?"

Caleb felt a cuff on his shoulder when she said, "I followed the recipe, and what I didn't understand, Sarah explained."

"By chance I could get some honey? I am hungry too," Caleb asked Sarahiah.

Sarahiah heard Petal laugh as she said, "I know when people hungry they eat anything, but this is mind blowing."

Sarahiah then pushed the pot aside and belched, she then drank down half of the juice and wiped her mouth, "Thank you Petal, I am well full, now I can work. By chance anyone bring any file?"

"Yes."

"Good, and Petal, don't bother cooking for me until I ask."

"Wasn't the food tasty?"

"It was excellent, thanks, just only fix food for you know who, and their breakfast and lunch."

"I am right here you know," Caleb said as he observed how she ignored him, then she walked away.

"Did I offend her?"

"You did no such thing, mom said she stores up like a camel, have she eaten for the week?"

"No, she just drinks milk or juice."

"Then I don't want you to worry, that is how she eats, she is not like us eating every day."

"So when we went for the two weeks, did you starve?"

"Petal noticed he was smiling while he ate just like Sarahiah from the pot, "She cooked everyday for me, and packed my lunch."

Caleb observed the puzzled look on her face before she asked, "Is she for real?"

"Yes, just don't take it on, she can eat a footlong subway comfortable."

"Are you kidding? And that's disgusting."

"I know, but if I take a plate, I will just be dirtying dishes now, you have anything to eat?"

"Thanks, but I will make a sandwich, next time I hear she is hungry I will pack a container for precaution before she starts eating."

"Good idea, now dad might get discharged Sunday or Monday, and I am starting to work Monday, so I am depending on you to look after dad."

"No worries, Caleb do you think that after dad is better, I could go look for work?"
