Chapter 3

The weakened presence was suddenly suppressed by an evil and more powerful one.

A demonized Yu Chen stretched his hand in a choking motion causing the man's eyes to bulge.

"H-Help! I-I can't breathe!"

The medic reached for his neck, fighting an invisible force that was stealing the air from his lungs.

"What is happening to him?"

Fattybai, one of Yu Chen's friend pointed at the red-faced man whose face showed popping veins.

"Death by asphyxiation, a quick way to put an end to these worthless humans!"

"Brother Mu! What is wrong?! Is it your asthma? Where is your inhaler?!"

Thinking that his partner was having an asthma attack, the other medic asked for his medicine. Searching the other man's pockets as his partner was sweating profusely.

"N-N-Not....Ast..."

"What? What did you say?! I can't hear you clearly!"

Trapped in a limbo, the medic's face was turning a vivid blue. None of the people could see what the demon king was doing.

"Oxygen! His losing air! Dammit! Did you leave your inhaler at home this time around?! Grab me enoximone stat! Brother Mu is diaphoretic and cyanotic!"

"Brother Ko! There's only one prefilled syringe, if this is used on Brother Mu you could be suspended or fired for using public resources for personal reasons!"

The medics were of similar frame and build which was a requirement that they had to meet to be employed.

"There is no time for political correctness! Get me the enoximone or we could lose Brother Mu!"

Bystanders gathered to watch the spectacle that late evening. Someone was going through acute respiratory distress and it was none other than a medic! A rare occurrence that could rival that of a medical drama, to them it was a live action and free at that!

It was a gruesome experience for the medic that was assigned the emergency supply bag but he had to do as his colleague asked by delving into the large backpack to pull out an orange prefilled syringe that had crystal clear liquid.

"Here you go, Brother Ko!"

The medic that was called Ko, snatched the prefilled syringe pulling the cover off by his teeth.

Armed with a syringe in hand, the medic strode with purpose to where his partner was heavily breathing. He only got as far as a foot from him before a wind out of nowhere sent him flying in another direction.

"Brother Ko!"

The medic that was left on his feet ran to where his fallen comrade laid.

"B-Bro..ther C-Chun...take it to Brother Mu..."

He soon passed out cold on the street, the medic Chun stared blankly at unconscious form. He was now left with a life shattering decision to either take his comrades and flee the scene or do as his colleague had asked.

Superstitious by nature, the medic was quivering in fear at the unnatural phenomenon of witnessing a fellow brother in the medical field flung out of nowhere.

"HUMMM...HH-HUUMMMM...."

Heartbeat skyrocketing to compensate for his starving lungs, the victim's kneecap gave way causing him to fall flat on his face.

"Brother Ko! Brother Mu! I've never worked alone! What am I going to do?!!"

In full blown panic the medic forgot that there were bystanders watching his every move.

"Where did that wind come from? Evil forces at play! Where is the talisman?!!!"

"You don't say! That gust of wind looks suspicious!"

The college students gazed with interest at the rapidly deteriorating situation.

"Are they going to be okay? This looks bad!"

"Fattybai this is your chance to shine, you binge watch all those medical shows. Isn't there anything that you could do to save the day?!"

The tall lanky lad that was Fattybai gave a cocky smile when praised by his bespectacled friend.

"This is wrong, so wrong on many levels! We are first year pharmacology students and you want Fattybai to step in?! You guys are crazy with a capital C!"
