The system is dissapointed

Jason POV:

Do you wanna know how it feels like waking up and feeling as if someone stuffed your head full of cotton?

I'll tell you… It fucking feels like shit.

I tried opening my eyes which surprisingly felt quite heavy as if someone was actively trying to force my eyelids to stay closed.

As soon as I won the battle with my eyelids and my vision focused normally again I saw a black ceiling over me.

And as my senses came back to me I felt the light jerking of my bed and the feeling of being on move. It seemed I was on our finally completed moving home.

I also felt a soft hand filled with warmth holding my left hand gently. I moved my stiff neck to look to my left side and I found Arya sleeping on a chair her head tilted sideways as the soft sound of her breathing soothed my heart.

I let out a relieved sigh causing a stinging sensation in my parched throat.

I was thirsty and starving. It's never a good combination.

Looking at Arya's hand holding mine a soft smile formed on my face as I gently removed my hand, I did not want to wake her up, not when she seemed tired with the slight tearstains on her beautiful face and her messed up hair. She needs a good amount of rest.

I cringed as my joints popped as I sat up on the bed.

' Enough thinking and more eating'

I quickly took out water and food from the inventory and started eating it slowly as eating fast would overload my digestive system causing and could cause me to throw up.

After sitting up I realised how spacious our new home was harry was fast asleep on another bed to the side and there was a door on the far left, most probably a bathroom. The driver compartment was separated by a black metal wall with a door in the middle.

In total there were four beds two on each side, the beds were foldable beds which would contract when not in use taking the least amount of space possible. There was a mini kitchen also and a small table in the middle of the house for eating food together. Above the table, there was a hole on the roof with a stretchable ladder attached to it.

On the back was a window which had a metal cover in case they were under heavy fire it would protect them. From the window, they could see what was going on behind the vehicle.

This layout made me smile, it was simplistic but it covered all the functionalities they would need.

Now that there was some food in my body it was time to think about my fight with the zombie.

"That zombie banged me real bad. It's aching all over my body" I couldn't help but comment to my self silently.

All I could say was that I had been foolish and my inexperience in such fights almost cost me my life. Not having any sword training and not using my time skip ability properly were the flaws that were visible on the surface. But internally the biggest flaw was that I had grown complacent and overconfident in my abilities and this was what caused me unable to truly strive for more power.

Even though I wish for enough power to keep everyone safe I wasn't truly working towards it as normal zombies were so easy to kill. And I didn't meet any beings stronger than me for long and the invaders had not shown their faces inflating my ego.

This fight had given me a rude awakening. That I have to strive to become more powerful every second to survive in this cutthroat world.

First, I have to check if I got any sword skills while fighting the zombie. As soon as the system consciousness was unlocked it had become intelligent enough to not to disturb me with notifications while fighting intense battles.

"Seeing that you have had your stomach filled and now want to think about the system I have something important to talk about." The system's consciousnesses voice echoed in my mind just as I was about to call for it.

"Have you ever thought about the fact that you have had no quests after the first one in the starting?" It asked.

"Well honestly it just slipped my mind with all this apocalypse and invasion thing going on "

"The system is here to help you not to force you into something. And the system thought you to be capable enough to give you a free rein before level ten when you would be strong enough to not die immediately on the important quests."

"And now?" I asked dreading the answer as I could guess that something was wrong now.

"After your rather pathetic fight with the zombie, the system does not see you capable enough and will take control of your growth until you prove yourself capable enough again"

Ding!

"Can't you be more considerate" I cursed the system in my mind as I thought of ways to reach level ten as level ten needed him to have 100,000 exp.

"Oh, and there is a special condition to reach level ten. You have to complete your third evolution to be able to reach level ten" the system's voice replied in a suspiciously sadist tone.
