Change in the space

This time, Jacob wanted to see directly if there would be any change when he broke through, last time he was unconscious for several hours when breaking through to the peak of Body Refinement and the changes could have happened then.

He slowly accumulated to the peak of the first stage, before drinking a bottle of the pond water. This allowed him to form a fierce current to smash against the barrier for the second stage. It shook, but didn't break immediately, he accumulated a second current, then he finally broke through.

Then, something happened. The pond started trembling, it's banks collapsed in on itself, and the water rapidly sunk. Jacob ran away a bit until the pond finally stopped moving. Jacob then carefully moved closer and observed the pond. What he noticed was that it was twice as wide, and probably one and a half as deep.

This let him realize that as he increases his stage of dantian refinement, the upper limit that the pool can hold increases. He vaguely wondered what effect his body refinement had, then he wondered what would happen if he got more talents or magical elements.

He shook his head and checked if any other changes were made. He finally also decided to check the maximum size of his dimension. He just chose a direction facing away from the pond and started walking in a straight line. The landscape was pretty barren, with nothing except a flat grassland as far as the eye could see.

The sky was an ever present blue, but no clouds or sun were seen in the sky. It was always daytime, or at least bright enough to be considered as such. After a while, much to his confusion, he arrived back at the pond, giving him a weird distorted sense of direction for a moment.

This made him, either the ground he was standing on was round, or the land is flat and there is some kind of arcade game wraparound. Honestly he was hoping for the former, as the latter hurts his head too much. But the odd thing was he never noticed any form of curvature as he was walking, which made him believe the latter was the most likely scenario.

With nothing to prove either, he just let it rest. He then grabbed a few more bottles of the pond water, then left it to replenish, glancing at the rooster that is now acting as a salted fish, laying down and sleeping. He left the dimension.

He reappeared in his room, grabbed a set of clothes and took a shower. He noticed that it was early morning again, meaning he went another night without sleep. Yet, he strangely had no issues of sleep deprivation yet. He is determined to make a proper rest tonight for school tomorrow.

His parent's seemed to have already left for the day and he made a quick cereal breakfast then sat on the couch doing some review work for school. He is currently nearing the end of his senior year of high school, with two months left, he has to start contemplating which college to go to.

The ranks of schools go from third-rate, which pretty much accept anyone with a pulse. Second rate schools, who require a bit more effort. Then there are the first rate schools, which are the elite schools. Finally, there are the two top rated schools.

One is the Federal Academy, which is backed by the federal government. They are known for having the best studies into the nature of cultivation, and are renowned for their students having the most solid foundations.

Then, there is the Heaven Star University, known for being absolutely fucking rich. They are backed by many different companies. The only downside is that you can't apply to it, you have to be recommended by an alumni, then pass a test.

He does not lack resources, and in the future may even become extremely rich. He can foresee his dimension as being an absolute money making machine, just from the fact that he can grow spirit herbs in it without issue. He started leaning more towards the federal university, but he will have to speak to his teachers in the future to figure out the requirements.

In the high school Jacob goes to, in the past he was only considered as above average, nowhere near genius level talent. There are a handful of people at the peak of dantian refinement stage nine, with many being able to break through if they so choose. If it wasn't for teachers advising not to break through until you go to your respective colleges, then they probably would not be stuck there.

Jacob though, is very confident to break through to the peak of stage nine by the time of his graduation. He just has to wait a couple days in between each breakthrough, and two months is more than enough time.

Jacob set these thoughts aside for a moment, and looked at the bid for the four elements tree seed. He has been bidding against one other guy, who only keeps raising the price by one credit. There are still a few days left on the bid, but it is reaching his limit already.

He managed to find another website though, that sells some of the more niche items. He found a variety of spirit mushrooms, some plants that produce beneficial effects and don't need to be consumed, and lastly, he even found depleted spirit rock sources.

Spirit rocks are rocks that contain condensed forms of universal energy, they can't be used directly, as they contain too many impurities. But, it is common knowledge on how to process them into items called 'Spirit Stones', these can be used to cultivate faster, or restore energy in areas that have low concentrations of universe energy.

Humans only have the ability to make Low-quality spirit stones, not because of the lack of technology, but because the spirit rocks in human territory are extremely poor in quality, with the human territory being a barren wasteland compared to other areas of the universe.

He spent the rest of the way buying weird things on the internet, and sometimes chatting with Saiya and doing unfinished homework.

Eventually, he goes to his room, and goes directly to bed.
