Weapon Locks

When Jacob bought the RPG-HF, he only bought 10 of them, with around 50 missiles, because he did not believe people would buy more than that. But, he did buy a few things for himself to use during this challenge.

RPG-HF were made during the Expansion Era, when humanity did not know much about the various aspects of cultivation. The soul formation cultivation level greatly enhances the mental aspects of cultivators and exo beast, and the danger instinct is a mental aspect.

Those at star level 4 and above have strong senses of danger, so it is very hard to lock onto them without them dodging. When the RPG-HF was developed, the danger instinct was not well understood.

This made them much cheaper nowadays, because although they have the damage potential of a peak star level 4, they are almost useless against anything above star level 3. The RPG-HF is considered a quasi star level 4 weapon. True star level 4 weapons are much more expensive, and Jacob only bought one.

In his hands is a javelin like weapon, covered with various mysterious scripts. This is a formation weapon, like the warframes, formations are a technology bought from higher civilizations, albeit it was much cheaper because they are considered very widespread.

Formationists are more rare than pharmacists. Formations are a very diverse profession, because they can range in size from as small as a marble, to as large as a planet. There are also many different types of formations, from simple heating and cooling, to ones that can defend from meteor strikes.

The formation weapon in his hand, like the RPG-HF, has peak 4 star damage potential. But, unlike the RPG-HF, the formation weapon, called the 'HVFW-Striker' interferes with the danger instinct commonly possessed by star level 4 cultivators and exo beasts.

As a matter of fact, Jacob was lucky to buy this particular HVFW-Striker, as they are normally considered star level 6 weapons, but this one was a failed product, so Jacob bought it rather cheaply. Jacob set out with this weapon, his target was one particular star level 4 exo beast.

The exo beast Jacob decided to hunt was called a Horblit, they are known for their incredibly sensitive danger instinct. They have high mobility, but their defense is lackluster and their attack is average. They are considered very hard to hunt, because they can detect attacks long before they arrive.

One thing to note about them, is that they spend 99% of their time sleeping. So unless you have a special weapon to hunt them, I.E. an HVFW-Striker, then they are near impossible to hunt without overwhelming strength.

Jacob arrived at the area where the star level 4 Horblit rested. They have brown skin, and it looks like a large eye held up on a single arm, they are rather weird looking creatures, but are prized as mount for their speed.

Jacob spent some time watching the Horblit, then he held the Striker, and aimed at where he was going to attack. The striker has a 15 second charge time. Jacob slowly ran his universe energy through the formation weapon. At the second it was charged, Jacob threw it at the Horblit.

The striker moved at a rapid pace, aimed for the Horblit's head. As it is about to hit the Horblit, the Horblit's eyes slam open, it moves, just narrowly making the striker miss its head, and instead cripple its leg. Moments later, a large missile comes in and kills the immobile Horblit.

Jacob's mind takes a second to process what just happened, before he moves forward and rips the beast core out of the Horblit's head. As he does this, he is quickly surrounded by a group of 30 ish people.

One many with a now reloaded RPG-HF comes forward and says, "Hand over the beast core, this was our kill!" He has a smug grin on his face, knowing that it was in fact, not his kill originally. The smug man aims the RPG-HF at Jacob and has his people surround Jacob.

Jacob, right now, is royally pissed off. He looks at the people around him with a burning rage and says, "Oh, so you are trying to strong arm me, I'm curious, how did you know to follow me?" His piercing green eyes bore into the smug man.

The smug man's face turns even more smug, "Oh, everyone in the base knows you like to constantly spend your points, I had people watch you, and low and behold, you actually had a formation weapon, making this rather difficult hunt into a simple one." He then holds the RPG-HF threateningly, "Give us the core, and we will consider letting you go."

Jacob looks at the smug man, before his face warps into a deriding smile, "Oh, so you think you won? Oh how wrong you are." and to the man's confusion, Jacob pulls up his smartwatch, and activates a weapon lock on the RPG-HF, and any other weapons the group has. Weapon locks are common to prevent sold or stolen weapons from being used against the seller.

Generally, they would not be used with such low tier as the RPG-HF and the weapons that Jacob sold in the base, but he had made special requests. Jacob then started walking towards the guy who hasn't realized his weapon is now useless.

With the beast core held out, the smug man signals someone else to take it, while still pointing at Jacob, as the person was going to take the beast core, it disappears into thin air, Jacob then punches the guy in the face knocking him out, then presses a button on their safety shield, turning it on and disqualifying them.

Jacob then turns his head and looks at the smug guy with a sneer on his face, he moves with a burst of speed, repeating the process, but before he activates the safety, he strips the guy naked for items, then activates the safety shield.

He then looks at the other 30 or so people, before repeating the process over and over, hunting them down the people who are confused by their locked weapons one by one.

After taking them all down, Jacob smiles in a certain direction, before storing the Horblit corpse, and then disappearing with a burst of speed.
