Chapter 33. Karios blessing (1)

Chapter 33. Karios blessing (1)

"Wayn, what is going on?"

Ria asked Wayn as she looked at the battle going on in front of her with a dumbfounded look.

It was like she was watching a big-budget Hollywood action movie. The scene was just like that.

"I don't understand. I had never seen this type of fight before. Not even in the videos of those high leveled rankers."

Wayn was also the same as Ria, wondering if the scene before his eyes was true or just a facade. No, it was true but it was hard to believe it.

The scene before their eyes was one of Ian fighting with the Dragon Lizard, Leverill.

It was not like the fight from before. This time, Ian was not getting overpowered by Leverill. They were actually fighting on equal grounds.

"Why are you not shooting your arrows? Go help Ian."

Ria said as she looked worriedly at Ian but Wayn shook his head and replied.

"It will be just a futile attempt if I did that. My shooting arrows at the boss would only intensify his aggression and it would all be directed at Ian."

Wayn very well knew that there are some battles in which he can't interfere even if he wants to.

The battle in front of him was like that.

If he tried to interfere in it, then, it would only worsen the situation for Ian and the first one to die would be Wayn, because of his interference.

"Yes, we can't interfere with the battle even if we want to."

From the side, Clara walked over with injuries all over her body. She was struggling to even walk properly.

That was the result of her getting slammed by the tail of Leverill previously. Even the reason she was alive was because of Ria's healing her.

As a result of healing Clara's injuries, Ria had depleted all of her mana and there was no mana restoration potion left now.

"I wish I can help Ian."

"We can only pray for him but I know that he will win. He's not the type to lose to a lizard."

It may not look like it but Clara, Wayn, and Ria have played a huge role in the fight.

It was because of Clara's assistance that Ian was able to injure Leverill and Wayn was continuously firing arrows from the behind.

The biggest contributor was Ria who was mostly overlooked in the battle but she was continuously healing Clara and Ian.

Moreover, she was using buffs to support them.

If she can, she wanted to help Ian currently but she can't do anything. A cleric without mana was just like a pond without water.

It was of no use without the water and in her case, the water was mana.

She can only pray for Ian here.

Although she was useless as a cleric currently, her heart was still one of a saint.

Not just her, Clara and Wayn also can't do anything here. They can only pray with her.

It was because of a single reason.

'The fight is on your shoulders now, Ian.'

The fight was on the shoulders of Ian and it was quickly transforming into a life and death battle.

* * *

Slash! Swish!

Ian swung his longsword like it was a baseball bat but it was blocked by the mace of Leverill.

The clashing of both of these weapons caused ripples in the air but no one was going to back down now that it had come to this.

Backing out now would be the same as death!

Swish!

'The fight will end soon.'

Ian thought in his mind as he turned his body to avoid the attack. At the same time, he twisted his body to slash at Leverill's abdomen.

A slight smile formed on his lips as Ian saw the message.

As Leverill defense has decreased by 50%, it was easier to injure him but at the same time, Leverill's attacks were getting stronger.

Slam!

'Damn!!'

Leverill tried to attack Ian with his tail but Ian was able to perceive the attack. He quickly turned around to block it with his longsword but he still received some damage.

It should be noted that even a little damage was fatal to Ian!

"I have to end it soon!!"

Ian shouted as he started swinging his longsword in a strange motion. It was one of the techniques he had learned from his master.

It was the best technique in confusing the opponent!

But at the same time, Leverill also attacked Ian with his mace. It looked like both of the blades will clash with each other again.

Swish!

But something unexpected happened.

Both of the blades slightly touched each other but they didn't clash with each other. Instead, they passed by each other.

"Ahhhhh!!"

"Syaaaaa!!"

Both Leverill and Ian cried in pain as they felt a blade cutting their body.

Leverill's mace was directly plunged into Ian's abdomen area while Ian's longsword was stabbed at the area just below Leverill's neck.

Ian wanted to attack his neck directly but due to the height difference between them, he was only able to attack the area below the neck.

'Who will win here?'

Ian thought as he continued to stab with more force. Leverill was doing the exact same thing.

They were locked into a stalemate as they continued to exert more power to plunge their blades into the body of each other respectively.

The one who would plunge deeper would be the winner here!

Plunge!!

"Ahhhhhh!!"

'I will die here!!'

Sadly, Leverill was in a more advantageous position and his strength was multiplied because of the skill wrath of the Lizardman.

He plunged his blade deeper into the body of Ian and Ian was close to dying.

Those messages appeared before his eyes but Ian was in too much pain to notice them.

"Ian!!"

He was also not able to hear the thoughts of his party members. He was getting numb to everything in his surrounding.

'I really hate losing!'

Ian thought in his mind. He was in frustration for many days after he lost against Krysil but now, he was again going to be killed by Leverill.

He really hated this feeling. He wished that a miracle can happen here...

'I don't want to die.'

The moment he thought that something unexpected happened. Ian's body suddenly started shining as power rushed forth from his every cell.

'What's going on…??'

He thought he would die but his body was full of power now. His injuries were slowly healing themselves like someone was using high-grade magic on him.

It was almost like a revival!!

Not only Ian, but Leverill was shocked too.

'What is this…?'

Ian was surely going to die but now, his body was glowing and his injuries were even healing himself.

It was almost like some sort of sorcery!

"Karios? Who is he?"

Ian muttered out loud but he knew that it was not the time to think about these types of things.

He can't miss this opportunity!

That's why Ian quickly pushed himself back and made some distance between him and Leverill.

Then, he looked at his body which was fully healed now. There was not one sigh of blood or a wound on his physique.

Instead, it was overflowing with power.

Ian doesn't know how or why it was happening but he didn't hate it. Instead, he liked it a lot.

'I can win now.'

It was a chance for him to win a losing battle but he also knew that he has to hurry. His attack power was increased only for 2 minutes.

If he didn't finish the battle in 2 minutes, then he would lose this unexpected golden opportunity.

That's why Ian gripped his sword and looked at Leverill.

Leverill was still confused about what was going on. He had clearly killed Ian but his injuries had healed unexpectedly and he was looking like he was never injured.

It was really a weird situation but it was not like Leverill has much time to think about it.

"Syahhhhh!!"

Slash!

He flickered his tongue and rushed towards Ian with the mace in his hand. He cleaved through the air and slashed at Ian horizontally.

Clang! Kkang!

Ian blocked the mace with his longsword.

It was not the first time that he was blocking Leverill's attack but there was someone different this time. Ian was not getting pushed back at all.

Instead, he was overwhelming Leverill in strength!

'What's with this strength??'

Leverill thought in his head but there was no answer to this question.

Strength was oozing out of Ian as he pushed back Leverill. The Dragon Lizard nearly fell over but he was able to balance his fall with his sticky feet.

"You won't survive now!!"

Taking the chance, Ian quickly rushed at him with incredible speed.

Adrenaline was gushing out of his body!!

Swish! Slash!

He slashed at him with an incredible amount of power and no blade was able to stop that attack.

Pierce!

It directly pierced through Leverill's chest as he cried out in pain.

"Syaaaaaa!!"

He tried to move his mace to attack but there was no way Ian was going to let him do that.

He quickly kicked at Leverill's chest with one of his legs and then, he twisted his body to slash at Leverill's injured right arm.

Slash!

With just one slash, Leverill's right arm was cut and it fell to the ground and turned into red shards of light.

Leverill didn't even get the chance to cry due to the pain as Ian quickly slashed at his ankle, then, the left arm, and in the end, he slashed his leg off.

"Syaaaaaa!!"

It was a miserable sight but Ian was not going to give mercy to someone who nearly killed him.

Swish! Slash!

"Dieeeeeee!!"

With that shout, Ian slashed at Leverill's neck with a horizontal strike. A white trajectory followed the path of his longsword.

Slash! Thud!

In the end, Leverill's head fell to the ground with a loud thud.

It was Ian's victory and with this, he finally conquered the hidden dungeon, Lizardman colony!!

"Sir, something is wrong with the system."

James Ray, one of the top scientists in the world and one of the creators of the virtual reality game, Ark was sitting in his office when he heard that news.

The news was so sudden that he even spilled out his coffee.

"How can something be wrong with the system?"

The system they were talking about was the world's largest A.I. 'Origin'.

James Ray can't fathom what was wrong with Origin. It was the world's largest A.I. and also the greatest creation ever made.

At least in his eyes, it was true.

There can be nothing wrong with Origin as it was not just an A.I. but a lifeform on his own. It doesn't have a body to walk but his brain was more than enough to compensate for it.

For James Ray, Origin was like a different being!!

"What's going on?"

He quickly walked to the main control room when he heard the news.

He looked around at the group of scientists who had a clueless expression on their faces.

"Sir, we don't know."

"It suddenly started acting weirdly."

James Ray heard about the report and he couldn't help but frown. The group of scientist were the graduates from universities like MIT and Caltech.

But they can't even manage Origin.

"Let me look at it!!"

James Ray quickly started controlling the main computer and a stream of codes appeared in front of his eyes and he couldn't help but feel shocked seeing them.

The group of scientists looked at him with a curious expression, wanting to know what was wrong with the system but they only heard muttering in the end.

"Karios has blessed someone!!"
