"No! Mom, you can't!"
"You must. Or we will all die, either from the overload in our heads or starvation. But do not fret, I will not leave you. When I pass on, you will inherit my name and become the next Alba the Sear. Leia is the name of you when you were a caterpillar, and now you will grow into the beautiful butterfly, alba. That is how the ritual goes since the start of the skill, and while calling to see the future, we will come back to help. Now please. Allow me to move on."
Page grabbed Zeeth and urgently said, "Bro, we need to talk. Now! There's a woman coming here and I recognize her, she's Linda from Serkle.
Actually, this might be the best place to talk."
Alba and Leia were hugging each other, staring at everything in the world.
"She's likely coming for a job offer, it's something she offered an old friend of mine before but we are better than her now and are probably going to give it to us."
"But I don't want to work or have a job."
"Yeah, I know but this one's different. I think we should take it. I've heard the details and we want in on this. The first issue is, you want to rule the world. If our objective is to rule the world, this plan can lead us to it. I have a tried and true method."
"Got it."
"Countless people have wanted to rule the world, many have sincerely tried, but never in our history has it ever been done. And that is because of one issue: Other people. powerful kings won't want someone else taking their power and fighting back with their soldiers and that is the main issue standing in most people's way, the constant fighting. There have been stronger kings in the past with better war tactics who have failed, so we must go outside the box.
Kill the kings and take the nation our own way. And my plan is to use the greatest killers of kings and rulers who were never other kings. Their own people. Civil wars and rebellions are far more effective in bringing down governments than nations intruding because propaganda and kings can force their subjects to fight back until the last drawing breathe as long as the citizens are made to believe the other side is vicious, which will be easy if we attack them head-on for no other reason than to own them. We will be seen as tyrants and people will try to kill us if we intrude and rebel even if we win. So my plan is to first take the people's trust and end them from the inside."
"How? It's not as easy as saying, 'hey, follow me. I'm good.'"
"Of course it's never as easy as simply saying that but we can get there. We will go to nation after nation in disguise and help the suffering people so they trust in us more than their kings. Then, we reveal who we are after helping them, and when we come requesting their people under the ruse of wanting to improve their situation, the kings will fight back and we won't be seen as tyrants. The people will even support us if it all goes according to plan."
"Why in disguise? If I stay as me then they'll know it's me."
"Because if we keep going around as you and people hear of your good deeds all around they will expect great things out of you. Their expectations will be higher and doing more will be less effective. But if you go in as a random outsider with no or little expectations, you can surprise the people with less and reveal yourself later when everyone is convinced of your superiority.
That's where Serkle comes in. They are offering a short job, just a few months at some other place where they will set us up with a disguise and start our journey with their help." Page leaned in, "And I know something that no one should. Do you remember the lucky dice? Well, those are just prototypes. They were failed products of their real treasure."
"Lucky dice were failed products? What?" he exclaimed.
"Yeah, their original goal was to create a Mixing Box, a legendary box that will combine anything you can put inside of it. And it was completed not too long ago."
Zeeth wondered at what the box could do as he looked around the world. He looked down and saw a room. It was full of sweating and crying children. "Page, look! The kids."
"Oh, dang. They have Draconis Enferme. Dragons Virus, it's got a bunch of horrible names because it's dangerous, mysterious, and incurable. To the world as of now."
"So what are we going to do? Are they going to die?"
"No. I've got a cure. Some dragon liver that we harvested from that chaos dragon will filter it out."
"Okay, yeah let's do that. Then let's go now and give them some privacy."
They looked back at Alba and decided to leave, disconnecting their minds from the world.
"First things first, we need to cure the kids now. The virus is excruciatingly uncomfortable." Page weaves around the huddle of people, still clutching Yemisias head and throwing her around. "It's a very specific procedure, we need to cut, dry, and ground prices of the liver and mix it with a portion of the recipient's blood." Page turned around, inhaled, and yelled, "ARE THERE ANY DOCTORS HERE?!"
Quite a few hands raised up. Gror said, "we've been calling doctors here to take a look at the kids. A few gathered and were trapped here by those two."
"That's excellent, anyone who is a doctor, can control heat and can grind things come with me. Anyone else, make sure you imbed a Disruption Stone into that woman there," he pointed at Yemisia, "and a woman in a car is approaching us. Make sure she doesn't get through before I talk to her."
People scattered across the town following his instructions. Zeeth left a slime with Yemisia to hold her down and Leia and Alba who were still unconscious and in the orb to protect them. Page yanked out a large box from his bag and ran ahead. Doctors asked him, "where are we going?"
"To the children. They need our attention."
"The children?!" the doctors gasped, standing back. A balding doctor yelled, "The children have been stricken with the Dagons Disease, they cannot be cured. Being anywhere near them is dangerous, we cannot go like this!"
"I have a cure to the disease and I need your help if we want to get it to everyone the fastest."
"You have a cure? That's impossible, it's the Incurable Disease, they are lucky not to have been killed by now as they would've been in other cities. If a cure has been found, how would we not know about it?"
"I haven't gotten around to telling people yet since it's a rare disease but I can show you all the cure. You can be pioneers of the doctoral world, you just need to trust me. I can show you a proof right now."
"Proof?"
Page opened the box, holding onto a dark red, floppy, and wet piece of meat. God's Eye told him [Choas Dragon's Liver. 170 pounds. Component of the cure to the Dragon's Disease, Many poisons, dissolving Many materials…]
"Is that a Dragons Liver?" the balding doctor asked, "where did you procure it? Yes, it's a rare material but it can only be used for storing vast amounts of mana and helping bruises. It cannot be used for such a disease."
"Just watch." Page cut off a slice of the liver, applied heat and pressure to it in his hands, pulled out a mortar to crush it into, and grounded it into powder. He showed the powder to the doctors and told them, "doing it like this, applying 170 degrees Fahrenheit and moderate pressure will create a powder that can be mixed with the subject's blood and create a cure for the disease. It takes about three days to take effect but it works. And I have no reason to lie, we saved those kids a while back, I don't want them to die."
"That's impressive, but it's not enough to make me charge in there. We could still get infected, couldn't we?"
"Yes, but that's not the point, we can create a cure for you as well, and then you would have immunity to it forever." Page began sounding frustrated with the doctor and was beginning to sound angry.
Zeeth intercepted, "How about the doctors stay outside to create the cure while we go in to administer it. You wouldn't be exposed to it but we do need the help. Can everyone accept that?"
[Motivation is Activating. Your subjects trust your words a little more.]
The doctors didn't have anything else to say and many began agreeing.
"Great, then let's go." Page turned and ran to the kids, followed by Zeeth and the doctors.
Black told Zeeth, 'the dragon's disease in the children is giving off strange energy. We should be cautious around them.'
'Yeah, I know it's infectious.'
'That's not it. I've dealt with the disease before but never has it ever… felt like this. I don't know if we should get too close.'
'I already said I was going to administer the cure. If I back out now the doctors will lose trust.'
'Just try to stay out if you can. It doesn't feel dangerous, just unknown. I'd rather stay safe.'
A ring of water surrounded the room that the kids were in from the bubble Yem created with Yemisia's help and it was the perfect boundary for the doctors, just far enough away from the disease.
Doctors set up their stations, setting up tables and chairs using their own magic. Doctors had strict requirements, along with extensive medical knowledge on how the human body works and how to fix it, they needed to have a basic fire, earth, and water control so they could create their own tools and station, cauterize and clean wounds.
Many of them began working as Page instructed them yet he could tell in their movements and through Animo that many were lackluster. They didn't have confident movements, they dried and grounded them without assertion.
Zeeth told Page what he noticed but he responded, 'that is fine. Getting it done is the important part and they are professionals. Could you do the bubble?'
'Sure.' Zeeth stepped past the waterline, pulling out a pink slime. 'Pinky. Time to get to work.'
The slime, previously known as Nam, jumped out of his robe, plopping itself down like a large water droplet and closing its eyes. The pink glowed even harder as it concentrated and the bubble expanded. It encased the entire room, wrapping it like a comfortable blanket. The children inside the bubble stopped squirming around and their breathing relaxed, even stopping the sweat.
"What was that?" A doctor asked.
"A healing bubble."
About six months ago, in the midst of his training, he was submerged in a vat of water, tied down with restraints and all his slimes outside. Pishku told him, "escape this pit without moving."
He tried hopping up but something about the water kept him under. He tried moving the water but with the restraints on stopping him from moving, the current he created was too weak to move him out. All of his slimes were outside the vat playing with the other slimes Pishku kept and didn't seem to notice his struggle as he didn't want to call to them. This was a test of his personal abilities and his affinity to water, his slimes would make things too easy. Bubbles escaped from his mouth after sixty seconds as he continued struggling with the restraints. He began swallowing water after another sixty.
Finally noticing his lack of oxygen, Pinky turned around and hopped into the vat, soaking up the water as it went. The water allowed it to grow and strengthen the minor ability it had, [Pinky. A slime that absorbed Healing Potions and is strengthened by the environment (+50% to all abilities).
Healing: touching Pinky will slow the process of any poison, venom, disease, or negative effects. Also slows the aging process by 2%. However, wounds will also heal slower.]
This was what God's Eye said at the time. Pinky wrapped around him and slowed down the negative effect of the drowning, pulling water out of his lungs and pulling him up.
But now, after a year of hard work, Pinky's description said, [Pinky. A slime that absorbed Healing Potions and is strengthened by the environment (+100% to all abilities and generated Bubbles Effect).
Bubble Healing: Pinky can generate a bubble of healing. All entities inside will be healed, preventing any poison, venom, disease, or negative effects to continue. Heals negative effects after an amount of time. Slows the aging process by 20%. Platelets and cells will move faster to heal wounds. Alleviates pain and worry. The smaller the bubble the more effective it is.
Costs: 10 Mana per second.
Without the bubble, you must touch Pinky to receive Healing benefits.
Cost: Free.]
Zeeths total mana was 30,560 and his slimes all had on average the same amount, as well as an absurd mana absorption rate that allowed him to absorb 1 mana every second with varying amounts of his slimes. 10 mana per second was nothing, he could keep it up for weeks if all his slimes were focused only on mana absorption.
The balding doctor approached Zeeth and asked, "Hi, sir. Could I buy that blob? I'm not going to lie, this healing bubble has alleviated the symptoms of the Dragons Disease, I'm sure you understand how valuable it is. Something this effective is priceless to doctors like me. I'm willing to pay any amount!"
"Pinky is not for sale."
"Please, anything! A million Styrs? I have that much saved up. How about- on, how about my daughter! I have a beautiful daughter, you can marry her! Marrying into my family will instantly give you the status of Assistant Doctor, you can have access to many of our products at a cheaper price."
"Dude, not. for. Sale."
The other doctors also left their stations and came to check out the bubble. Zeeth had wrapped it tightly around the kids to help them the best so no doctor could get close enough, but many of them had considered walking in just to see what it was like.
"Hey! Is everyone done yet? Children's lives are at stake here!" Zeeth yelled.
"I'm done with my portion."
"Me too."
"Same. can I touch the Bubble?"
"Anyone that is done, hand the cure over. If you want to touch the bubble, follow me," Page collected the liver and put it in a jar. He walked into the bubble, smiling as he went in. the doctors hesitated at the waterline and no one wanted to go in. Zeeth walked past them, his metal foot hitting the ground as his gold necklace jingled and glistened. He stood at the edge of the waterline, staying away from the kids at Black's advice. But the doctors kept asking him to bring Pinky over and grabbing his shoulder for a price.
