"Well, we should get our weapons then." Akachi states. As he moves towards the back of the room that had two doors. Dr. Valencia looks at Akachi with a raised eyebrow, and he opened both doors using the palm scanner. "Come doctor, lets get you some rest, you look like your about to have a break down." She decides to follow Lion, as he enters the room to the right. It looks like a royal suite, with a massive bedroom with an Alaskan King bed. Large kitchen that had dehydrated and frozen food. What shocked her was there was another room with another Alaskan King, with a separate bathroom. As the leading researcher on the ship she had believed that other then the Captains Quarters she had the best deal. Minus her ex husband of course. But this, this made the Captains Quarters look like a rundown hotel room, granted she never seen one other then the vids from when humans lived on earth.
"You take the room on the left, and lock the door, we will make our way to the bridge. And I will make sure to keep Snake in check." Akachi started. "But is there a way to contact you and the Captain while we head towards him?" he asked.
"Yes, there should be transmitters in the other room, take two, one for each. Let me know once you reach Captain Maverick." Dr. Valencia states to Akachi. As Akachi goes to obtain the transmitters, Julian comes into the room.
"Hey, doc, question for you." He starts, "With all the freakiness that seems to be going on, how come there aren't any alarms, or sounds of gunfighting. Hell I don't hear any screaming."
"That's because most people are already dead. Minus the ones in cryo." Dr. Valencia states.
"Ahh, so we just need to clean up the mess, right?" Julian asks, "Like, with a mop and bucket?" he cracks a smile, thinking that he is being funny.
Dr. Valencia starts feel highly irritated at Snake, but stops from lashing at him, instead she states, "Go ahead, I'm sure with your superior and untainted Hispanic gene, you could clean this mess up with some toilet cleaner and a rag."
"Ouch, doctor, not so harsh." Julian laughs off her retort, "Besides the situation can't be that bad. Nothing a few rounds won't fix. Oh! And alcohol. Alcohol fixes everything." Julian goes back towards Akachi who has just finished talking to Captain Maverick. "Hey Akachi, got any smokes, before we go out this room I want some nicotine in my system. Especially since we couldn't bring any alcohol." Akachi tosses him an unopened pack of vintage Marlboro reds.
"Don't smoke them all in one go, we only have a limited supply." Akachi warns Julian.
"Ahhh don't worry pendejo, I won't smoke all of your smokes." He flashes Akachi a smile before he packs the cigarettes. As he opens the pack he looks at Akachi, "Hey, got any fuego?" Akachi rolls his eyes and tosses a pack matches at Julian.
"Hurry up and smoke, I want to get a move on towards the bridge." Akachi said to Julian, "Also grab your weapons."
"Ok, ok." Julian responded to Akachi, as he moved towards the armory that was next to the living quarters. He hadn't finished his smoke when he came out with two Px4 Compact FDE on his hips with a tactical vest and a machete on his back. "Ok your turn."
Akachi went in and after a few minutes came out with Taurus 692 Matte Black in his side holster, a Stoeger Model 3000 Tactical Semi-Auto Shotgun, and a kukri on his lower back attached to his vest. Smiling happily to himself, he was ready to step out into the unknown, or so he thought.
The moment the door opened, the two were hit with a wave of nausea, as the strong odor of decay and death engulfed them. With faces of disgust, they went out of their safe haven and made sure to close the hatch as they left.
"F*ck man, smells like I'm back in downtown L.A." Julian said to Akachi.
"No, that I doubt. Not even the mass graves that we dumped bodies into when I was a soldier smelled this bad." Akachi replied to Julian. "Lets quickly get to the bridge and see exactly what happened. And what we need to do to fix this." The duo stepped off and started going down the corridor towards the closest stairwell. Julian had a gun in each hand and Akachi had his Taurus in his hands. Both kept a look out on the corners and would occasion look behind them as they slowly moved forward. Everything seemed quiet. What neither of them knew was that there were small worms that had fallen from the ceiling now in their hair, and shoulders. These things were slowly moving their way through the skin. And due to the size of these worms neither man felt anything.
They kept moving forward and didn't come across anything other then the odd growth on the walls. Julian shrugged and kept silent. Right now he was focused on the task at hand. Akachi, who was providing point, made his way to the door to the stairway, and slowly opened it, his gun aimed inside. Neither heard anything out of the ordinary so they kept pushing forward at a decent pace. They were trying to be silent, not wanting to attract attention. Unbeknownst to them, they were already being watched. In the darkest corner of the stairway there was a dark mass, embracing the corpse of a fetus that was still attached to it. The head moved side to side but did not attack. It could feel that these two would soon join it. And did not want anger the Queen. So it watched, even while its hunger and hatred grew, it watched.
They had reached the top of the stairs after thirty minutes of going up through the levels. The worms that had started to burrow into their skin were now inside of their blood stream, changing. Yet, both men still haven't realized that they were changing. The only thing in their mind, is to get to the bridge.
