Chapter 12: Always a Bridesmaid Never a Bride

"Remind me why we are attending this wedding again." I stood there completely dumbfounded in the reception as both Greg and Sungah are standing proud and tall as if they knew the person who was getting married.

"Why didn't you wear the dress I picked for you?!" Sungah asked me completely ignoring my question.

"BECAUSE IT WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE. IT WAS MORE like a torture device than a wedding dress that's all I'm saying. It was so hard to move in it's like having a bear trap in your body." I said completely showing my disdain towards the dress...

"ANYWAYS WHY ARE WE HERE AGAIN. I get that you're somehow.. invited.. by why is Greg and I here... we weren't invited.."

"We are here to support the bride of course. She was an alumni in our school so I'm here!" Sungah answers already looking around for the tables of food.

"Do you even know the person this person? Like even their name at least." I sighed giving her a death glare as she's distracted by the food in the table.

"Uh.. no clue." She giggled. "I mean it's not like I really care about the wedding. All I care about is the food and plus it's a weekend. It's not like you have any friends to spend it with other than us.."

"She kind of has a point Grace..." Greg chimed in.

GREG WHAT THE HELL. YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE ON MY SIDE. WHY ARE YOU SIDING WITH THIS HOE.

They both giggled at each other, in an attempt to tease me. I squinted my eyes.. shrugging off their "you have no friends remark."

"EXCUSE YOU. I DO HAVE FRIENDS. Well, they are at the states but I do have friends thank you very much!" I answered pouting my cheeks.

"Anyways! Let's go and crash this wedding! I'll make sure that every food is not wasted by eating all of them! I'll go and stuff my face in the buffet! See you guys!" Sungah frolicked around the buffet table...

A bad omen to whoever is trying to peacefully eat there. I give them my condolences..

"WAHH! Mommy! This lady took my food!" I then hear a child crying because some SUNGAH took his food.

I facepalmed as I moved away from where Sungah is eating... I don't want to be kicked out...

"I mean for christ sake. Sungah is an adult woman. I do hope that we don't get kicked out.. if Sungah gets kicked out pretend that we don't know her got it?" I nudged Greg to laugh along with.

"Of course. Hahaha. Sungah hasn't changed since we were in high school. She would get into trouble a lot despite being a student council member." Greg replied to me.

The mood started to turn a bit awkward.. as a bit of nostalgia fills with my mind... "You know... I wonder.. if Louie is married..."

"Hmm.. well I heard that he dated quite a lot of women.. I mean he was generally a player when we were in high school. So I'm pretty sure he's already married at our age. Why do you wonder that Grace?" Greg responded and then proceeds to get curious about why I asked that.

I sighed slowly turning to him to answer. "Well... it's just that... I'm curious that's all... I mean that's not a bad thing right..."

I don't myself why I'm curious... could it be that I want to know if he's single or not... or that I hate it if he was married already.. is it because.. I still somewhat... lik- NO... I don't! It was horrible! He treated me like a toy. He told me that I was out of the league. Why would I like him, Why would you love the person that made you feel horrible?

"Grace!" I then hear a soft-spoken voice in the distance calling for me.

"I.. um.." I turn around to see one of the bridesmaids coming closer to me... It seems like she knows who I am.. but legit I don't know who this girl is.. I'm not the best in remembering names.

"Hi..." I said timidly as this woman walked closer to me and greeted me.

"Hello, Grace! Do you remember me? I'm from the room next to you. You know when you were selling your lollipops. I used to buy a lot of your lollipops!" She said to me giddy.

As much as I REALLY want to know her name.. I REALLY don't remember.. I HAD WAY too many customers back then to know and memorize their names... so I'm probably gonna seem cruel for not remembering her name if she supported me a lot during my lollipop business back at high school...

"Oh... hi.. who are you exactly?" I said trying to be nice about it... "I really don't remember and I'm really sorry for that!"

"That's fine! I'm Dahlia! Usually, I just fade behind the background since I'm not really that interesting..." She giggled shaking my hand again. "I'm usually the one they call to be always the bridesmaid but never the bride.

"Oh Dahlia! So you're a bridesmaid here? As much as we attended here to support.. we really don't know who the bride is.. like at all.." Greg says straightforwardly.

"Greg! You can't just admit that!" I said in an attempt to backtrack the statement.

"Oh, it's okay! Lindsey knows the two of you anyways. I actually told her that I saw the two of you enter even if you weren't invited so she just let the two of you in through her security!" She then turns to me with sparkles on her eyes.

"So how about you! Are you seeing anyone by any chance? I mean I heard after high school.. you went to the states to study business... so? Are you married? Spill!" She bombarded me with a few questions... Questions that make me wonder...

Do I really want to get married... and if my feeling is right... to I want to see Louie.. just.. to get redeemed by him... NO! I DON'T LIKE HIM!
