Once Nancy got the book from the guy, she quickly excused herself, not really liking the close distance between her and the crazy, built, nice guy. Her thoughts of the stranger were quickly gone as she jumped into a bean bag in the corner, getting comfy before starting where she left off in the book, content to have found it again.
**************
Nancy sighed, closing her book as she heard over the speaker that the library will be closing soon, and headed to the front desk requesting to check out the book. When Max noticed the "little guy" was about to leave, he noticed "he" had left the book with the receptionist before leaving. Max went to the receptionist and asked why the "little guy" had left the book behind. She giggled, being an older lady she knew that the "little guy" was a "little lady", thus she explained that to Max first, then she explained she was new in town. Max was a bit confused about why she would be dressed as a guy, but then just added it to the ever-increasing list of things to find out about that "little guy". He checked out the book and left, trying to find "him". When he heard a scream "GET AWAY" he quickly ran towards it. As soon as Max entered the alleyway, he saw "his little guy" (he thought automatically) being pushed up against the wall and struggling to getaway. Max was furious and instead of saying anything he slammed the guy down on the ground, quickly turning to the "his little guy" to see if he was hurt. The guy on the ground quickly got up and ran away. Once the "his little guy" said he was ok. Max said that he can walk "him" home, completely forgetting that he never did introduce himself.
NANCY'S POV
She was dumbfounded at what just happened. She was recalling all the events that happened ever since she arrived at the public library. Remembering how the guy in front of her is a complete stranger, who thinks she is a 'he', always helping "him", now wanting to take her home without even introducing himself. She was even almost mugged as another strange guy had pushed her into the alleyway. This is definitely not how things usually go right? Not really used to all the attention, not knowing what the man in front of her was thinking, but thankful for him saving her.
She sighed, deciding to see exactly who this person in front of her is and find out what's going on. She finally lifted her cap so she could look up at the man and instantly met his light brown eyes. He was just standing there actually, just waiting for "him" to tell him to 'let's go', like they were already best "buds". But once their eyes met, it was like he was being sucked into her light yellowish greenish eyes. She was also caught in his deep brown eyes for just a brief moment, about to introduce herself, she heard him say "beautiful" without thinking. When he saw "his little guy blush" Max quickly regained his posture and explained he is not into guys, it's just that he likes the color of 'his' eyes. Nancy started to laugh, leaving him puzzled but then also laughing. When they stopped, she finally had a chance to introduce herself. "Hi, I'm Nancy. Thanks for helping me out just now." She said with a smile, reaching out to shake his hand.
