Chapter 26 She Will Be Mine Sooner or Later (Part 10)

Walking up to Ji Anning, he lowered his eyes and casually scanned her from head to toe, "You, like this, need to toughen up. Otherwise, how could you be worthy of the title 'Mrs. Ji'?"

Upon hearing this, Qi Helian secretly gave Ji Chicheng a look of disdain.

This guy really has no shame.

Ji Anning curved her lips into a self-deprecating smile, "Yes, Uncle is right, thank you for giving me the opportunity to toughen up."

Blows of sea breeze came, and her eyes were a little red.

She paused then continued, "I'll go back first. If you find a suitable double, remember to introduce them to me, Mr. Qi."

Since he agreed, why should she be pretentious? The salary for an extra is meager, but the pay is still good for doubles who perform some of the challenging scenes.

Better than any part-time job she could do at the moment.

After she finished speaking, she turned around and walked toward the curb without looking back.

"You spoke too harshly," Qi Helian reproached Ji Chicheng, then looked toward Ji Anning.

Watching her resolute steps, the stubbornness and pride emanating from her very bones, he realized that she and Ji Chicheng were strikingly similar.

"Not harsh, how else can she grow strong?" Ji Chicheng drew out a long sigh.

'Wuu wuu...'

'Don't hit me, don't hit me, I don't want mommy anymore.'

Ji Chicheng watched Ji Anning's departing small silhouette as his thoughts drifted far away, and his black pupils deepened.

A pair of hands hanging beside his legs trembled slightly.

...

In early September, school officially started, and Ji Anning had been assigned a dormitory, but for the first few days of school, she chose to stay at home.

Ji Xiangting was at the same school as she was but not in the same faculty, and there was some distance between their two faculties.

Every evening, a driver would come to pick them both up, but Ji Xiangting had always looked down on Ji Anning, and Ji Anning didn't want to have too much contact with her, so she willingly chose to take the bus.

In the evening, many people were standing at the bus stop, each looking out for their respective buses to arrive.

Ji Anning also looked into the distance when suddenly a 'beep' of a car horn in front of her made her jump, and she withdrew her gaze to look ahead.

A red convertible sports car stopped in front of her; the girl in the driver's seat had long hair and wore oversized sunglasses, looking incredibly cool.

Ji Anning laughed airily, "What are you stopping here for?"

"Get in." Yang Danning pointed to the passenger seat, gesturing for Ji Anning to get in.

Ji Anning frowned, "Where to?"

She was afraid Yang Danning was going to take her out to eat again, and she could not be as carefree as her. She needed to be home on time, and arriving home even an hour late required asking for leave.

"Your place," Yang Danning said, opening the passenger door impatiently, urging Ji Anning to get in. "Hurry up, if the traffic police come around, I'm handing you over to them."

Bus arrived right behind them, so Ji Anning got on without hesitation.

The door closed automatically, and Yang Danning started the car, quickly driving away from the bus stop.

"Why are you suddenly going to my place?" Ji Anning asked Yang Danning curiously while buckling her seatbelt.

Yang Danning didn't like Ji Xiangting and Ji Ruoqian either, so she seldom visited their place in the last two years; they mostly met outside.

"I heard that your uncle is back," Yang Danning said excitedly.

Ji Anning was taken aback for a moment, then smiled faintly and asked, "So, are you going because of my uncle?"
