Chapter 25 She Will Be Mine Sooner or Later (Part 9)

"You can call me Helian, or even just Lian if you'd like," Qi Helian said as he stood up, smiling gently as he walked towards Ji Anning, speaking as he moved.

"Cough cough!" Ji Anning was choked by Qi Helian's words.

Were they that acquainted? She wasn't the type to get overly familiar with someone; Helian was a name she simply couldn't bring herself to say, let alone Lian.

No one seemed to notice just how awful Ji Chicheng's expression had become.

As Qi Helian approached Ji Anning, she looked at him and thought for a moment before saying, "Since you're good friends with my younger uncle, why don't I also call you..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Qi Helian interrupted her, "No, don't—I'm still young, I don't want to be called 'Uncle.'"

Ji Anning smiled, thinking to herself that Mr. Qi was quite humorous, certainly more so than Ji Chicheng.

She didn't continue the conversation about what to call him; she decided to set it aside for now. After all, it was unlikely they would meet often in the future, and even if they did, there was no necessity to greet him.

She and Ji Chicheng didn't communicate much, and it was even less likely she would have contact with his friends.

Just as she prepared to excuse herself once again, Qi Helian's voice preempted her, "Let's have dinner together, and next time there's a good stand-in opportunity, I'll recommend you."

"No, thanks," Ji Anning said without hesitation, quickly waving her hand to decline.

If it had been before, she would have been thrilled at the prospect of someone recommending her for a stand-in or extra role, but now that Ji Chicheng had discovered her secret, she didn't dare continue.

She didn't want to mix up with the Ji Family much longer.

Qi Helian knew what she was afraid of and said with a smile, "It's okay. I've just convinced your younger uncle. As long as you're not recognized, he supports you in getting some experience."

As he spoke, his gaze shifted toward Ji Chicheng, and he raised his voice, "Young Master Ji, right?"

His narrow phoenix eyes were filled with laughter, which, in Ji Chicheng's view, was utterly punchable.

Ji Chicheng's gaze slowly turned towards them, he looked at Qi Helian and archly arched an eyebrow, "Qi Helian, do you have a lot of free time?"

Ji Anning: "..."

She knew all along that the guy had always disapproved of her because she embarrassed the Ji Family. How could he possibly agree to let her continue working as a stand-in actor?

If her identity were to be revealed, the news headline 'Ji Family's grandson's wife seen as an extra on set' would unquestionably dominate the headlines. Then, she would indeed cause a loss of face for the Ji Family.

"I'll be going now," Ji Anning said dejectedly, bowing her head, ready to step forward and continue on her way.

Suddenly, Ji Chicheng's voice came from behind her, "It's not necessarily out of the question."

"What?" Ji Anning instinctively turned her head and looked at him, puzzled.

She didn't understand what he meant—what was not necessarily out of the question?

Ji Chicheng's gaze swept over Ji Anning's face and landed on Qi Helian, "Qi Helian, if I ever see her face in any news..."

Hearing this, Qi Helian quickly shook his head and waved his hands, "Brother, the Ji Family is not something I can mess with."

He could only try his best not to let her face be seen, but with paparazzi almost having supernatural powers and noses seemingly keener than dogs, how could he guarantee absolute safety?

Ji Chicheng sneered, "Is Mr. Qi really that powerless?"

Qi Helian: "..."

There was a moment he could've asked for Ji Chicheng's help, yet he had volunteered himself instead.

He really brought this misfortune on himself!

Seeing Qi Helian's helpless pout, an almost imperceptible hint of satisfaction appeared at the corner of Ji Chicheng's mouth. Then, he supported himself on the arms of his chair, stood up, and walked towards where Ji Anning was.
