Chapter 41: Entered His Apartment (Part 5)

After finishing speaking, he turned and walked toward a room on his left.

Clothes that she could wear? Women's clothes?

Why would there be women's clothes in his house?

Could it be...

Well, he should be a normal man, so it makes sense for women to come and go in his house. What's so strange about that?

Ji Anning withdrew her gaze from Ji Chicheng and looked toward the room on the left, which was closed.

With no other choice, she could only change clothes, no matter whose they were. After all, he had agreed to it.

Thinking this, she took steps toward that direction.

Arriving at the door, she reached for the doorknob, gently turned it, and pushed the door open.

The room was pitch dark, and a familiar fragrance wafted into her nose. It was quite noticeable at first and then became almost imperceptible.

This... couldn't be his room, could it?

Ji Anning turned around to look at the room Ji Chicheng had entered. That room faced south; it must be the master bedroom.

She reached out and found the light switch on the wall, turned on the light, and her eyes lit up.

The empty room surprised Ji Anning; there wasn't even a bed, just two pieces of exercise equipment that didn't take up much space.

It was probably because he exercised here that it smelled of him.

Ji Anning didn't think much about it, walked into the room, and up to the wardrobe. She pulled open the door.

My God!

Ji Anning's mouth hung open as she stared at the closet, stunned.

Is this what he meant by 'a few sets of clothes'? What few sets?

It was a wardrobe filled from top to bottom with rows of dresses and various clothes neatly hung.

And each one looked as if it was brand new.

But like Danning and others, clothes don't get repeated for months on end, every piece they wore looked brand new.

So there was nothing curious about it, she was just surprised there were so many.

It seems that woman must be living with him.

He had only returned a few days ago, could it be that she was his girlfriend from abroad and came back with him?

Oh... this guy really hides things well. Should she tell Danning, at least to warn her not to harbor unilateral feelings for too long and get too deep into it?

From what she knew about him, he found it annoying to utter an extra word, and he certainly wouldn't waste time on a woman unless he was sincere.

Just looking at the wardrobe full of clothes showed how much he doted on that woman.

"What are you looking at?"

Ji Anning was staring absentmindedly at the clothes in the wardrobe when a man's pleasing voice suddenly came from the doorway.

As indifferent as ever.

She jumped guiltily, feeling like she had been caught gossiping, a bit embarrassed, she shook her head, "Nothing, I wasn't looking at anything."

Her gaze didn't meet the man's face, quickly sweeping over him before absentmindedly returning to the wardrobe.

She reached out, casually picked a maroon dress that fell about to her knees, sleeveless.

She hadn't paid attention when grabbing it, only giving it a quick glance once she held it.

Without further inspection, she held the dress and said to Ji Chicheng, who was leaning lazily against the doorframe with his hands in his pockets, "Uncle, I'll just borrow this to wear."

Ji Chicheng's gaze indifferently swept over the dress; he pursed his lips but said nothing.

"I'll go to the restroom and change, it won't take long," Ji Anning said, holding the clothes and lowering her head as she passed Ji Chicheng.
