"I'm sorry I'm late!" Marinette said running towards the mouth of the river as she saw Kagami was already there waiting for her.
Marinette arrived in front of her catching her breath. Kagami was both shocked and pleased. She chuckled at her friend. "No, it's alright. I just arrived. Why don't you sit beside me?" Kagami gently pats the concrete beside where she sat.
Marinette immediately pulled her backpack off from her shoulder and sat beside Kagami.
There were a few moments of silence between the two until Kagami commented on Mari's hair.
"You finally decided to let it down, huh? It's beautiful."
Marinette chuckled, "Funny how you're the third person who said that today."
Kagami giggled, "Really? Who's the other two?"
Marinette choked. It's alright to tell her that Adrien was one of the two right?
"Well first it was Alya then..." she paused, "Adrien." she added in a very small voice.
Kagami laughed. "Adrien sure has a good eye for things beautiful."
That remark suprised Marinette so she laughed along with Kagami.
"You don't have to feel awkward towards me Marinette. You were my first real friend in the city and I really treasure you."
"Really? I mean, of course. I also treasure our friendship Kagami."
"Which brings me to why I called you out here."
Kagami turned to Marinette and grabbed both of her hands joining it with hers. Kagami held her tight and looked straight to her eyes. "I know you like Adrien and I respect that. A lot. In fact, you're the last person I want to be hurt by this Marinette. But Adrien and I are meant for each other. I hope that's okay with you?"
Marinette did not know what to say. She saw Kagami as a reflection of herself. This girl wanted to hurt nobody. All she did was like Adrien. And now that they're dating, she wanted to check on Marinette because she cared.
Mari understood all this and was amazed by how she does not feel angry at all. Her heart was calm. She knew what had to be done. Kagami also knew what had to be done.
Closure.
Marinette smiled a soft smile pulling out one of her hand and put it over to Kagami's. "Thank you Kagami. This means a lot to me. I'm okay, really. I'm really happy for you and Adrien. You make a great couple."
In Kagami's relief, she jumped on to Marinette and hugged her so tightly. "I was so scared that you would not want to be my friend anymore."
Marinette smiled hugging her back, "What are you even saying? A friend is a friend. And you're one of my friends."
The two pulled away and bursted into laughter.
"Come on, let's grab some ice cream to commemorate this day. My treat." Marinette stood up and assisted Kagami on her feet.
"Thanks." Kagami smiled and the two went on their way to the bridge where the ice cream awaits.
But from a distance, a car was parked behind a tree across the park. Binoculars were peeking out of the window as the two ladies were observed.
"So that is Adrien's girlfriend. I always thought Marinette was the threat. But then again, I knew Marinette did not stand a chance." the person in binoculars said retracting the device.
"In return, I, Lila Rossi shall make this Kagami miserable." she said taking a snapshot of the two from the window and immediately ordered the driver to go. The car left without a trace, bustling about on the street. But with Lila's threat, danger awaits Kagami soon.
