CHAPTER 02:GONE FOREVER

Screams were all over the place,people calling out their relatives and friends who were still stuck in the buiding, the fire fighting team had arrived a little late when the condition was worsening but they did all the best they could to put-off the fire.On the other hand the rescue team focused on saving the people inside the building. St.Jone's hospital was a small health center in Miles town , the big city hospital was quite far from the town so the people around here attended at the St.Jone's hospital,the fire outbreak was sudden and the fire glowed all over the buiding despite all efforts from the rescue team, some patient's were stuck in the building and fought for their lives as the dense smoke in the building broke down their breaths, some ran around looking for way out, while some who could bearly move sat hopelessly waiting for their last breath.

"Mrs.Dawson....Mrs.Dawson....",one of the nurses named Elisa happened to be close to Viviana called her out trying to lift her up , she found Viviana trying to crawl out from the room,she could barely walk, her body was weak, she had just given birth and wasn't feeling well enough yet, she looked up to see the one helping her,struggled to stand up as she leaned on the nurse ,"please....please...save...", with a very dry voice she tried to explain to the helper,she stretched one of her hand and pointed to a tiny baby bed beside the bed she was lying on,"my baby....please", with a struggle of breath she said.Elisa with a terrified facial expression turned and followed the pointed direction,she remembered that Viviana just gave birth a child and was having her martenal rest,before the nurse could take a step foward to the baby's bed, Viviana fell down,she had no more strength to stand further, Elisa was confused, the heavy smoke from the first floor reached their floor this made it difficult for anyone to see or breath propely, Elisa carefully lifted Viviana and helped her lean against the wall and help her sit up , she then placed a soft pillow from the bed at Viviana's back so she won't hurt her back, "Wait here I'll take the baby with me,then find someone to help you out of here....please hang in there",explained the scared Elisa who was now crying, Viviana couldn't utter a single word , she weakly nodded her head to imply that she agreed to what Elisa said,Elisa took the baby and rushed out the room to save the baby's life.Viviana after seeing someone saving her baby,her pierced heart came to rest she slowly shut her tired teary eyes and passed out.

Josh arrived at the hospital area,his eyes were filled with fear and suprise,he didn't want to believe that his wife and daughter could still be in that horrible and terrifying firely building,he told himself that they could have been rescued already, he ran while looking around, like a mad man he kept pulling peoples' shoulders so he could take a glance at them and see if he could find familiar faces, he went and looked in the ambulances and even he tried to take a look at every victim coming out of the building but none of them was a woman with a baby, he panted like a tired dog and he was drenched with sweat all over his body but he cared less about this he was determined to find Viviana and the baby,suddenly he saw a familiar face,"Elisa...",he said with a low dry tired voice,Elisa,the nurse had just managed to get out with the baby, Josh rushed to her he pushed away the two rescue squads who had helped Elisa out of the building and grabbed Elisa's hands from the sides so he could avoid hurting the baby held in her arms.

"Elisa...Elisa...where are they?", he asked while looking straight in Elisa's eyes, his red eyes were filled with terror,his heart pumped as fast he was afraid of the next answer, could he really accept the truth if they were dead? That they will be gone forever? This is not what he needed to hear though, Atleast they should be alive even if badly hurt he hoped,Elisa was trembling,she was traumatized after witnessing all the happenings in the building,she tried to open her mouth but she couldn't utter a word, all she could do is burst out into tears.Josh looked at the crying Elisa, he knew something was wrong but he still wanted to know how bad, Elisa mastered her courage and lifted up her crying face, "Josh....this....this is your....your....", she bursted out into tears as she squeezed the baby she held in her arms closer to Josh, she looked at him closely and uttered the last most painful words, ".....She is your daughter,Viviana couldn't make it....we...we tried but nothing could be done.....", she finished,Josh loosen his grip on Elisa's hands ,he stepped back his head helplessly faced down,"You mean.....", he paused and looked up at the three of them,"She is still in there.....", he glared at them, "Why.....why is she still in there?", he asked the two rescue squads standing with Elisa.He rushed and grabbed tightly the collar of one of them with anger ," Why did you leave her in there?....She can't stay in there alone?...", he asked the rescue guy who was now struggling to free himself from Josh's jaws of anger and resentfulness,the other rescue guy stepped foward and tried to separate Josh from his teammate, "Sir,we understand how you feel but we are doing our best.....," he explained but Josh didn't pay any attention to his words,he focused on this one guy he had gripped, "Whhhy?!....", he yelled at him,this time the other teammate pulled Josh of his partner, "Sir,If you think you are good enough,then why don't you get her yourself?!", he yelled back at Josh who was now on the ground after being hardly pushed.

"Josh!...",Miranda arrived at the scene and rushed to help Josh stand up,but Josh refused and stood on his own,Miranda looked at the guy that pushed Josh down, "Really?Is that how you treat your clients?Is that even a right thing to do?",Miranda asked them angrily," This man needs help from you and all you do is hurt him,Do you even know what loosing someone important means?",she asked,Josh didn't want to hear any of these anymore,he wanted his wife alive though he was thankful that his daughter was alive,he turned to Miranda,"Take care of my daughter,I need to find Viviana....",he explained to Miranda, Miranda turned at Josh with suprise,'Daughter?What daughter' She wondered but after noticing the baby in Elisa's hands she got a clear point of Josh,She turned back to Josh but he wasn't there,she looked in the direction of the building and saw Josh rushing to go in the firely building,"Josh!No you can't.....You can't go in there!",Miranda screamed out at Josh but he wasnt listening he kept going foward, "What do you think your doing here?",Miranda turned and asked the two rescue squads who were just standing there,"Are you really going to let him go in there?Isn't it your ...",before she could finish there was a huge blast from the building,Josh was near the building the blast flew him up and threw him hard on the ground,he couldn't move an inch, everything became dark, all he could see was a blurry image of Miranda,she was saying something to him but he couldn't hear, "Viviana....", he whispered with a dying voice then everything blacked out.

Miranda looked at the burning building,she turned and looked at Josh as they carried him to the ambulance,she covered her mouth with her hand and cried helplessly,the people she cherrished the most,how could they end up like this?How can fate be so cruel to them?Didn't they deserve happiness too?she cried as she looked at the little baby girl in Elisa's hands,she couldn't understand,her body felt weak,she couldn't cry more every part of her body felt numb.She got into the ambulance where Josh was in and they left -off to the Big hospital in the city.

In the afternoon,the Hartson family were having dinner,a 60 years healthy old man,grey haired well brushed from behind,with a little charisma , gentle and noble appearance,he had a well mantained body about 170cm tall,Leornard Hartson the chairman of the LEONS CO. Company. ,one of the well known best company's in the country,a multibillionarre who had everything,a beautiful wife Mrs.Colleth Hartson about 60's too and two children Edward Hartson their adopted son and Viviana Hartson,though Mr.Hartson had Edward as a son,he never considered him his, as he wasn't legitimate regardless of how much hard-working he was,Mr.Hartson focused on his legitimate daughter and favoured her but to his dissapontment Viviana chose Josh over being the heir of the family business for this reason she left the house and never came back.Edward wished for acknowledgement even though his father never paid any attention to him,he knew it clearly that he will never be his father's choice for life but for the sake of his wife Nicole and son Dalis he had to keep calm and accept all the cold treatment he received from his father,his mother on the other had tried her best to make him feel warm despite the fact that he wasn't legitimate.

A table phone rang and broke the silence in the dining room where the Hartson's were having their lunch.Edward stood up and went over to answer the call,"Hellow...",Edward answered the call,"Yes...it is the Hartson's residence,how may I help you",he replied to the caller gently,a moment of silence passed as Edward listened carefully to the caller's explanation,he hang up and walked slowly towards the table and looked at his parents who were staring back at him waiting for him to speak out,they all looked worried after seeing Edward's altitude,"What's wrong son?",Colleth asked ,Edward sighed heavily looked at his mother with pity,"Mom,Dad....I have a terrible news.....something really bad happened ....",he paused," I really can't .....can't..bring myself to tell you.....",he began crying covering his eyes with one of his hands,"it's really terrible....",he added but after a while he held it back,"Mom,Dad...Viviana died in a fire accident....",he finished ,the whole family was at gaze,'Like whaat really?' Colleth could even barely move,Mr.Hartson stood up fast from his chair,"What did you just say,can you repeat that?",he asked with a pressured hoarse voice,"Why do you make such a joke?",he yelled at Edward.Edward looked up at his father ,"No dad,this is no joke...she died in the hospital she gave birth at....and her baby too",added Edward,Colleth fell down and passed out this news was too heavy for whole family,no one wanted to believe the most loved daughter of the family just left the world?But was Viviana's child really dead?Why would Edward say that?Why would he deceive his family about the baby??
