Truth and lie part 2

He pondered for a while in front of her door, then after gathering his thought, he knocked on the door.

"Yes, come in."

"Ah...Sorry to have come unexpectedly....."

After entering her room, he was stunned and interrupted what he was about to say. Eleanor was standing absent minded in the terrace with her elbows on the balcony ledge, her hair fluttering in the air and eyes closed.

'No wonder his majesty said that she fell from the sky, she look like an angel.' He thought, as his eyes didn't leave her figure in the balcony.

The one who answered the door was her maid so he told the maid,

"Tell the lady that I would like to have a talk with her, it is about the investigation. I will be waiting in the garden terrace."

"Yes Sir, I will tell the miss." Miel replied while bowing her head.

Then, Sebastian left her room and instructed a butler to prepare some tea and snack to the garden terrace. The butler went to prepare it, and Sebastian headed toward the terrace garden on the first floor.

Eleanor was lost in her thoughts and didn't see Sebastian coming in and out of her room. Her maid Miel finally interrupted her quiet moment and said,

"Miss Lea, you just had the visit of sir Sebastian Lewis the head of administration in the imperial palace."

"I didn't see him, I must have been distracted. Why did he come and did he say something?"

"Yes, he said that he is waiting in the terrace garden on the first floor, it is about the investigation."

"I see, but the palace is so big, in which building will it be?"

"Don't worry miss, he must be on the first floor of this building, since you wouldn't know the others places."

"Okay, then I will go right now." She said and was guided by Miel to a quiet and beautiful place that was still unkown to Eleanor that ressently came to the palace. The terrace garden was stunning, with a lot of differents kind of flowers around it. The smell of the flowers calmed Eleanor's mind that got nervious after hearing that the investigation on her will began. She saw Sebastian standing beside the table filled with snack and tea. He slightly bowed in courtesy and said,

"It is a pleasure to meet you miss Eleanor. You must already know but I am Sebastian and I am in charge of this investigation."

"Yes, hello sir Sebastian, It is also a pleasure to meet you. I knew that you would come and it is a relief. This way we can quickly finish and I will finally be able to leave."

'Leave?! I thought that she would use this investigation to cling on his majesty and seduce him. However, Judging by her expression she doesn't seem to lie. But I must be careful, maybe she is just faking it all, so that we will let our guard down.' He thought before clearing his voice and said,

"Well, I will go straight to the point. Miss, are you in any way connected to the people that conspired to kill his majesty the emperor?"

She looked at him straight in the eyes with a calm face to show her good will and said,

"No, I am not related to them and I am not even aware of the situation concerning his majesty. Up to the day I met him, I didn't even know that he was the emperor."

"Then, if you didn't know him, why did you save him in the forest?"

"Isn't it obvious?! Because he was injuried and alone. If I can't save a person in need, or if I had to wait for a reason to do that, then I would be no better then an animal."

He was amazed by her straighfoward and honest response. At that instant the bad impression he had of her slightly changed. At least now he saw in her some rare quality. His mood became kinder but nevertless he was still a bit suspicious. After a moment of silence he said,

"I see....And I am really grateful to you for saving his majesty."

"You don't need to, I would have done the same for anyone else."

'She doesn't seem to lie since the stone didn't react. This stone is made by wizards, it influence people and push them to tell only the truth. So, if she tried to lie, the stone would react and she will be forced to say the truth. Until today, no one was able to overcome this magical stone.' He thought and took a sip of his cup of tea before asking,

"Can you tell us where you came from? because we tried to look into it and we couldn't find anything related to you."

A sigh left her slightly parted lips and she thought after looking toward the stone beside him, 'I wonder why my head keep hurting me. No matter where I look, I feel like the reason for my headache is this stone...'

She touched her head and said with a irritated tone,

"Is it necessary to know about it?"

"Yes it is, It will free you from any suspicions." He replied with narrowed eyes and thought, 'She is right, we don't need to ask about that since the stone is the proof that she told the truth. But it still bother me, the fact that we couldn't find anything about her. So, I am curious.'

"Well,....I left my hometown before encountering sir Francis in the forest...." She said with a low voice, her head hurting more with every minute that passed.

"And where is located your hometown? Is it part of the empire?" He asked while wondering why she had that pained expression.

"No,.....It is not....it is far from the empire...uhh!"

She had gone pale and became dizzy, her hand dropped the glass of water that she wanted to drink thinking that it will make her feel better. And the glass crashed on the floor and just after, Eleanor fainted.

Sebastian left his seat in a hurry and went toward her while shouting,

"MISS ELEANOR?! MISS!!!....Please answer me, what happened?!are you hurt?!"

"Miss, Miss!!...Oh my god, she lost conciousness." Cried Miel with a treary eyes.

However, Eleanor didn't react to their call and couldn't respond to it. Their voices sounded distant and then everything around her went dark.
